I am a former nail tech. With that said you can imagine how picky I am when it comes to having other nail techs do my nails! Tammy has been doing my nails on and off for the last 15 years. She is an amazing nail tech and business woman. She cherishes her clients and treats them with respect and dignity. I have medical issues and Tammy has offered to do anything she can to help me out from doing my nails at my home when I've been home bound to running to the store for me. Her salon and the crew of girls working there right now are talented , friendly, kind and fun! The atmosphere is perfect for relaxing and unwinding while being pampered. I would definitely go to The Paint Box! There is another salon in town that is trying to emulate The Paint Box. No comparison! read more

I had my first and last visit to the salon last week. While the owner was very kind the quality was very poor. It took 3 hours for a madi-pedi, which looked like a 5 year old did it. Normally I would complain about bad quality and ask that they redo it, but after 3 hours I just wanted to leave. My toes had smudges and my fingers had bubbles immediately upon leaving the salon. They scraped by foot raw (it bled) and gouged a couple fingers near the cuticle too. On top of poor quality, which was also overpriced, during this terrible time of Covid, I had to ask the girl to wear gloves (the owner who had to take over at one point didn't bother to either) and the tools weren't new for each customer. read more

I'm one who relies on Yelp a lot as I travel around... this business does not (they rely on Google) but I thought I'd leave an update for any of you who are looking for a salon in Flushing. First, their address is now 301 E Main Street. (Very important!) Also, the few reviews on Yelp are quite mixed. I suggest going to Google where you'll get a much better idea of their services and reputation. I was quite pleased with my pedi. read more

If there was a 0 rating I would totally press that button without any hesitation. The day of my appointment with my sister and boyfriend I had prepared multiple example pictures (that aren't difficult to do) and ideas for Tiffany who I was booked with. I was very descriptive on what colors I wanted and what design I was looking for. As I'm explaining to my nail tech in the middle of our conversation Tiffany began to let out a "sigh of distress" and started to tell me that she thought I would want a "non-nail art" or simple color. Mind this, it was my first time there and now my last. I felt as if I was being rushed to find my colors because she had said, "I have to be out by 2:30 so we can't do anything crazy." It was only 1:00 at the time. Like excuse me? She did try to attempt my "crazy design" only because she said she was able to do it *my sample picture is down below* but in the end she was really struggling with the set and it was already 2:30. As soon as I paid Tiffany, she just left so fast for me to even see that I actually hated my nails and she didn't ask how I felt about them either. As I sat down on the couch with my boyfriend I was really debating if I had liked them or not, while I was waiting for my sisters nails to finish (she had Kassie) I got up to ask one of the other nail techs if they can help touch up some areas I really hated, Tammy gladly said she would. As I sat waiting for Tammy I decided in that moment that I really did not like them. Tammy called me up and I politely asked if she can quickly take off just the polish for me. She then starts to laugh in my face and gets super defensive for no reason, going off about how her and Tiffany are great friends, shes been in the business for a long time and while she's talking, she hasn't even looked at my nails. I never asked for a refund and I wasn't rude at all !!! I simply just did not like my nails. I even offered to PAY to have them taken them off but Tammy just cuts in and rants about how busy she is (it was just us 3 in the shop at the time) Tammy totally disregarded that I was not loving my nails. She then decides to cover them up with more polish even when there's already a thick coat on so it just looked even worse. I was extremely upset because not once did she apologize or agree that there was something wrong with my nails!! That day my nails began to chip and it looked like a 2 year old did them. This is by far the worst service I've ever had. If you guys do end up making a appointment with them I highly suggest to just get Kassie. She's super nice and understands what a well rounded nail technician is suppose to be. read more

Walked in and was greeted rudely. very unorganized, and chaotic. first time coming and won't ever come back. got my nails done and the girl was complaining about my design And tried to change it on me. Got my nails one and some of them are crooked and well as thin. I'm not rough on my nails and a nail is broken and now $85 below average set is now worthless. nail Tech would of charged me more if my friend wasn't next to me. Cassie was amazing! First time coming to this nail studio and it did not disappoint. My nails (gel) look beautiful and the products they use for a pedi are AMAZING leaving the skin smooth and with a shine. Not to mention my gels on my toes are great with a cute design on my big toes. I have been going to Tammy for quite a while now and just love her!!! The salon is so welcoming and relaxing and has the cutest decor. It's a great place to unwind after a long day of teaching. She provides so many different services and always keeps up with the newest trends. I get so many compliments on my nails and love the nail art she does on them. It is so creative and artistic.
