Who worked on the house for 9-10 months.,they do beautiful work.. This morning I took my dog outside and a verbal altercation was going on nextdoor..this was NOT common.. By some force of wonderful luck I found a suitable home in a nice neighborhood to purchase this…read moreyear and a recommendation for (my requested requirement i asked my experienced buying agent) "the most honest and efficient painters in town". With that recommendation I called up Johnson Brothers Painting and they had the time to take on my exterior painting project after completing their present project. It was still early Spring and we had to be careful about the forecast but not only had they made, with ease, the price estimate and supported me with color choices and all conversations between first meeting and appointment date to begin.. they were very reliable with keeping up with our conversations and answering my concerns before date of painting. The day of painting it was a friendly meet up again. All of their equipment & the purchased paints they picked up on their own (that i chose) came out with them for all the exterior and trim of my house. Work begun immediately on arrival and after taping off various areas for the trim they began painting my little one level home within about 90 minutes of arriving. I checked back on things periodically while hanging out with my dogs in the neighborhood and I was so impressed with how dedicated, earnest and hard-working the 2 fellows working on the paint job were. The skill level and focus in transitioning from obstacle to obstacle in my funny shaped home with all kinds of trim was more than impressive. Their technique also was something I hadn't seen before and resulted in such a flawless facade and clean lines in the transition of changing colors that it gives a perspective of a home created with perfectly blended color transitions "baked on" in the manufacturing of the home. I mean it really looks like the exterior construction of the home was created with those colors already in place. There's no bumps or any areas that appear obvious that paint has gone on top of other paint. The overall look around the home is of smooth and even texture to such a high level of standard that's quite impressive to the neighbors and several came around to ask who I used. And this project only took 2 days for my particular sized home (approx 1300 sq ft & garage with trim). I could only imagine using Johnson brothers again when I have my next painting project. I wouldnt even want to try to match their skill level and efficiency by test other painters. Thanks to Zack for a beautifully coordinated effort & the cool method he employs in his painting !!!

I have held off for a while making this review. I do believe that the people who work here are very…read morenice people, but I still feel the need to share our experience. We hired Great Expectations to paint our interior of our house in November 2021. At first, the experience was good. Lief was the person who came out to give estimates and check out what we needed done. He is very nice, friendly, & seemed knowledgable. We broke the project up into two portions, the main floor & bedrooms/bathrooms, and then the basement. I will note that they were accommodating to a schedule change we had to do last minute, due to an unexpected hospital visit (thank you for that). The basement was done first. Rob was the lead painter on the job. They claimed him to be the "most experienced interior painter" that they had. He had help from 2 other (questionably sketchy) workers on most days, though some days he was alone. Some days the workers would say they would be there at X time, and would just not show up. Everything in the basement was to be painted EXCEPT our wooden windowsills, and two rooms (which we had stored our furniture and our belongings in. The rest of the basement was virtually empty other than a couch which they covered and our king bed). Well, Rob did not properly close off the two rooms where our belongings were held. There was overspray on EVERYTHING. My bed, my comforter, suitcases, my clothes & blankets, furniture. They said they would compensate us for whatever we had receipts for... I've owned my things for years and don't have receipts for everything and only was able to be compensated for roughly a $100 comforter. When we complained about the overspray Lief said that Rob would clean it, but he didn't. I watched him "clean" the front of the rooms near the openings but the overspray went clear to the back of the room too. It's been 2 years and I am still finding and cleaning overspray. Just laziness and complete disregard for others things. 5 minutes of prep time to really seal off those rooms could have saved all of my belongings from being dusted with white paint. (I wish that was the last of the overspray saga, but they dusted our washer and dryer upstairs as well.) Then there was a "miscommunication" between Lief and Rob, and they painted over our beautiful wooden windowsills with white. I balled like a baby ya'll. Like really, really cried. We always checked every night the progress - and were able to somehow get the paint off of the windowsills with warm water and hours and hours of scrubbing. There is still white that we just can't get off. (They said they would fix them but obviously never did). One day, one of the painting assistant decided to just bring his girlfriend to work. I turned the corner to a complete stranger standing in my hallway looking around my house (at areas they weren't even painting in, mind you). That was enough for me to hide all our medications. Just really not a comforting feeling to be left out of the loop on who is in your house. All It would've taken was to ask, instead I was left feeling sketched out. Overall, the house does look nice - but the experience to get us to this point was truly not something I would recommend. When you are paying "Professionals" you expect a certain level of professionalism & care, and I just don't feel like we got that. I'm not making this review to shame anyone, just hope it's helpful for the business owner & future customers alike.

For me, the true test of a company within the construction industry is how they deal with issues…read morethat arise when things don't go perfectly. The short version of this review is that this company, Coveted Coverings (CC), responded when the floor was not completely covered and finished due to fickle nature of dealing with epoxy floors. They had to come back to the job site after thinking all was finished, and apply a totally new surface coat, through a complicated (and expensive!) process to make sure the new surface adheres to the previous. The point is that they came back, redid the surface coat, and left us with a very nice floor--exactly what we wanted. This costed them time and money, since they did not charge us for the final coat. From our perspective, you can trust these guys to do the right thing, and leave you with a high-quality result. Not only that, but they are friendly and easy to work with. For those who prefer more detail, this is what happened at our house. We agreed to do a flake floor on a wooden subfloor (plywood) that had lots of gross imperfections, from the screw/nail holes to the butt joints and other cracks. All the imperfections had to be filled with an epoxy paste. Then they do the main epoxy layer that they added just enough to fill in some of the worst dips in the floor, followed by the flake layer, ending with the surface coat. The CC guys showed up when they said they would, were professional throughout and the first few layers went great. They took a severely flawed subfloor and made it such that we couldn't tell. The problem arose in the top coat: they ran out of epoxy just before the end of the floor. Ninety percent was done, but the last few feet just didn't get covered right. This was after they showed up with 15-20% extra epoxy to make sure this doesn't happen. As an aside, one of the things I appreciate the most from this process, is that I learned quite a bit about epoxy flooring from these guys. They were patient with all my annoying questions, basically teaching me what I didn't know. I had been fooling around with epoxy for a while, and thought I knew how to do what they were doing. In fact, when they gave me the quote for the project, it was more expensive than I expected and I thought we could do it ourselves, since I was now such an expert in Epoxy (yeah, right). Watching them closely and asking questions, I learned just how much I didn't know, and suitably humbled, I have gained a much deeper appreciation for what has to be done. One of the things I learned is that it is very difficult to get the quantities right, and just buying (and charging the customer) way more, has its own set of problems (like how do you store the extra, what conditions does it require, how soon does it degrade, etc). Apparently this is especially true for wood floors, where the absorption rate and imperfections vary so widely. So, it's completely understandable that they ran out of epoxy, despite their expertise and planning. Once they took a look at the unfinished floor, they didn't argue, and simply went through the process of planning and executing the final coat (again). They had to go through the process of abrading (sanding, basically) the now-cured surface, using some chemical processes to further prepare the surface for bonding with the new surface coat, and finally applying the new layer. This took a full day, and they had to buy all the materials and soak up the time. They did all this without complaint or issue, and did not charge a cent more than we had already agreed upon. I felt a bit bad that they had to take a loss and tried to pay them more, but they refused. Exceedingly rare for construction firms these days. Bottom line: I trust these guys, and got to see firsthand how epoxy floors can be done right. In hindsight, the price was not too high--it was my ignorance and assumptions that made it seem so. To be fair, they were not the lowest bid (nor were they the highest), but they aren't greedy and are building their business the right way: by doing good work at a fair price and taking full responsibility for what they promise. I can't point to many other outfits we've hired to do construction related projects that take the care that they showed.
