Highly recommend Ted Norton painting. Ted and his crew were very friendly, courteous, had good and prompt communication, and easy to work with. They did an amazingly good job, even going above and beyond the call of duty. While some painters quote one coat, two coats is standard with Ted, which it should be. Ted Norton and his crew painted the interior of our home; Swiss coffee (white) for ceiling, doors, trim, and Snip of Tannin (light taupe) for walls and master vanity). Our living room ceiling is 25 feet high, so painting our interior was more difficult than normal. The quality of their work was 1st Class. I found Norton Painting on Yelp when in need of having my house painted. Ted responded promptly to my inquiry. He as able to schedule a timely and convenient appointment to see the home and in a few days, I had a very fair offer. He set a schedule to do the work, which was interrupted by conflicts on my end. He was able to move the date back to accommodate me. When the planned date arrived, he and his team arrived on time. They did a great job pressure washing my home and painting as promised. They took great care to avoid spillage by placing tarps around the entire home. The quality of work was excellent and I am very pleased. I hired Ted Norton to paint the outside of my house when I saw the job he did for my neighbor across the street. I am so happy I did so. I am a DIY type of guy, and was going to do this myself, albeit much more slowly than Norton Painting was able to do it. But when my wife suffered a stroke I realized I couldn't risk injuring myself. This forced me to hire someone else, and I was lucky enough to have Ted and his crew show up across the street around this time. Ted is a pleasure to talk with. His pricing is fair, and he has a great customer focused attitude. His dedication to getting my house painted right was notable. He advised me a bit on trim colors when I wasn't sure which way to go, and he was right (my wife validated his judgement, and that is a golden recommendation). While doing the job professionally with an eye to detail, he and his crew did not rush the job, and were thorough in their approach. In the end my house turned out beautifully, and my neighbors are complementary. Ted's core crew are great guys. They were very undemanding, needing very little from me (brought their own drinks/lunch/didn't ask to use the toilet, even though I assured them it was okay, etc), and impacted my own life as little as possible. Whenever we interacted they were friendly, pleasant, and enjoyable to talk with. They are the types of guys you'd like to have as your own neighbors. So, bottom line for me is that I highly recommend Norton Painting to anyone who reads this. Norton Painting just finished painting the exterior of our home in Marina. Our home was built in the 1960's so there were cracks in the stucco on all sides, peeling on the trim because the previous homeowner didn't prime the wood before painting. These guys are really good painters! My wife and I paid for college by painting so we know a good paint job. First, the paint goes where it's supposed to and doesn't go where it isn't. Sounds elementary, but lots of painters don't even do that well. Then there's the brush work. This is where you separate the top painters from the rest. Watching the guy who painted the front door was like watching an artist. All the surfaces had the brush lines parallel and in the correct direction at the end. During the course of the final day of painting, I watched each of the three painters on the job doing doors or windows and each was careful and skilled. Then there's Ted, the owner. He's really easy to get along with and keeps on happily working on the details until everything is perfect. I couldn't have asked for a better paint job. read more

I used to use Angie's list, but I found Ted's company through Yelp. He was always on time and professional. Our project was a complex one because we had bare wooden walls. He used an oil based primer and two coats of paint, so there was a fair amount of work to be done. He and his helper were neat, timely and conscientious. It was nice to meet someone who was sincere and intelligent, and I feel like I now have a "friend in the business".
