Their team is reliable, honest, and so responsive that I felt like I was some sort of VIP. From the start I found their quotes to be reasonable, and it was clear that the attention to detail they gave set them above the rest. Never once have I heard anybody give them anything but praise because they do live up to the standards we all expect. When they say you're home is your temple, they certainly treat it like that.

At this time, the painter and I found many other areas where poor paint coverage were discovered. Now less than 1 year later there are more areas where paint is peeling on the walls, soffit, and facia. I recommend you do not hire The Captains Painter. They did very poor preperation and painting work at my home. I am no hiring another contractor to repaint the areas that are peeling. This is very disappointing.

The contract included "REMOVING ALL HARDWARE" and using BM paint for the flat on the walls. He did the work early June 2026 in my newly remodeled 900 sq ft apt. He failed to use the BM paint I paid extra for (he would not provide a receipt for the paint after numerous requests), failed to remove hardware, failed to paint the closets, failed to paint my kitchen in semi gloss, failed to properly prep new construction... He did do a great job of getting paint on my new appliances and freshly refinished floors. I gave him the opportunity to fix his mistakes and he did return and he made a poor attempt to clean up the mess he created.

Unfortunately though, even though the guys were well qualified painters, our experience turned sour as time went on. After finishing the interior on job site # 1 in a reasonable amount of time, they skipped the patio roof there and started on the exterior at job site # 2. The exterior at job 2 took much longer than expected. To be fair, weather and their company's Covid complications did play a part in the delays. But on the other hand there were also days where there was a 'chance of rain' that turned out to be nothing and no work was done. There were also a few no show days, where no work was done for no particular reason. These lost days totally sucked. As the job site sat inactive, our house was all wrapped up in opaque plastic to protect the windows. We literally couldn't see anything outside. As the days dragged on and on with no progress, this became pretty irritating. Anyway, they finally got some traction and the exterior at job 2 was eventually finished. At that time, the plan was for them to head back over to job 1 and finish the patio roof. I checked in multiple times over the next few days to see what was going on, but they never started. In fact, they missed multiple promised dates for completion and all I got was excuses. After a while I just gave up. Florida Painting and Design abandoned us and the work we agreed on and they didn't appear to care. For a job that cost over $8000 total, to say that I am disappointed in how this came to a close is an understatement. Overall 3 stars. They undoubtedly do quality painting, however I actually wouldn't recommend them because of the unfinished job, missed deadlines, and lack of communication towards the end of our project.

I love that this is a family business and that they take pride in the work they do. Their rates were reasonable and well worth the quality and speed of service. Once we scheduled, the painters arrived promptly and were ready to work. They were respectful of our home and detailed in making sure our future was covered or moved as to not get damaged. Once they started, I was shocked at how fast they were at getting the job done and how well they did. Their fast work didn't sacrifice the quality which is in my opinion key.
