Three girlfriend's and I went here Saturday night to celebrate a birthday. Our instructor was Jimmy. He instructed us very clearly and was quite laidback and funny. It is BYOB, so we brought some adult beverages, and snacks. They provide the cups. They also provide aprons, which we weren't sure about before hand. All of us had a very fun night. The reason why I didn't rate it 5 stars is because, we felt rushed. Maybe the painting was too intricate to do in the allotted time. Or maybe the pacing needed to be streamlined. Also, I noticed that when someone would ask for individual help, Jimmy was very nice and would come over, but mostly just say that whatever the person was doing was fine. I think some people wanted a little more direction. All in all, we had a fun night, and had fun making our painting. For $39, you can't really beat the experience. They get the paint ready, clean up after you, and you come home with something to hang up on your wall (depending on how serious about art you are ). read more

Allow yourself some time to find parking since this is a busy location with lots of wonderful food options nearby if you want to do a lunch after the party. I called for info on a credit I have and the girl who answered was beyond rude. She advised me that I couldn't use my credit. I asked her why, she didn't answer and asked for my email. I asked her again what is the policy and I guess she got offended and started yelling at me. She kept speaking over me saying "Conversation over". This is as cut and paste easy as it's gonna get. We booked this location for a birthday and had a great time. Group gatherings mixed with wine?!?! How much more fun can this be? The instructions were easy to follow and the staff was very patient. As time progresses you tend to have to speak a little louder to get your voice across the room of 30+ people, but our hostess did nicely. Her commentary was a tad bit bland but that didn't take away from the entertainment as well as creativity of the class. Our theme was "Love you to the Moon and Back". I've been to three PWAT locations throughout Miami & I have to say Kendall has been by far the best experience I've had. My boyfriend and I came here for a little date night - which we were late (Miami problems) & the instructor and manager were so sweet about it. Luckily we didn't fall too behind and we were offered wine & beer from another family that was painting (cause we forgot our bottle cause we were late). As anyone who follows me knows, if it involves wine, I'm game! I've been Painting with a Twist for some time now but only recently have I started drinking and painting at this location and it is by FAR the location that offers the BEST experience. For starters, the location rocks as it is easily accessible from the turnpike and in a shopping center that has plenty of free parking. The venue itself is a great size that allows for plenty of walking around when you're eating and drinking but intimate enough for the class once you get started with the painting. They have the main room in the front and a private room on the side for smaller parties. There are also 2 large screen televisions that transmit what the teacher is doing up on stage. This is awesome as you can't always see what's going on depending on where you are sitting. Not that this matters because I don't know how they manage it, but even with copious amounts of wine and zero artistic abilities, everyone's painting always looks fabulous. Once you get started, you have to make sure you don't dip your paint brush in your wine glass! They jokingly remind you of this but honestly, you become so engrossed and focused that I could easily see this happening and that would be a Wine Crime. Seriously. The instructors are sooooo awesome and funny - not not mention helpful. They will make sure that you leave with a masterpiece despite your only artistic ability being able to draw stick figures that vaguely represent sticks - or figures! Go figure!! The owner, Melissa, is an absolute gem. She takes pride in what she does and it shows. She is extremely personable and accommodating and she is always walking around ensuring that everyone is having a great time. At the end of your 2 hour adventure, the entire group is called up to take a picture with their masterpiece and if you are celebrating a birthday (as was our case) they will make sure to belt out their best rendition of Happy Birthday. If you are going to celebrate a special occasion (birthday, holiday, work event, divorce - I imagine the divorce party will have some very interesting paintings!) this is the LOCATION to have it at because I promise, you wont be disappointed. Speaking of locations, this locale on Yelp often gets confused with the one in the Falls. This is the one on KENDALL DRIVE IN THE SHOPPING CENTER WITH THE CVS. Had a great time here! Came here with my wife and in-law's to celebrate Mother's Day and we were working with Sam, our instructor. She's really easy going and laid back. We had to draw cactuses that day, but I wanted to free hand something of my own for my own mama and that was cool with her. She even helped me blend some of the colors I needed. This was my first painting and after downing half a bottle of champagne (yes, they let you bring alcohol, just behave yourselves, right?) I'd say I did pretty good, or maybe I'm still drunk. Painting with a Twist - Kendall - Titled this one 'Mama Bear' 2019 - Art Classes Near Me - Miami, Florida

I just met the lovely owner, Melissa and her mom. Both are sweethearts :) They were kind enough to show me around and tell me how it works. Classes run about 2 hours and cost $35 per person. You can come alone or in groups. If you are coming with a group, you'll need 10 in your party for a weeknight (Monday-Thursday) gathering or 15 for a weekend (Friday-Sunday) gathering. You may use either the front room or the back private room. If you don't have a group and just want to come alone or maybe with a friend, you can join one of their public classes. They told me weeknight classes are from 7:30-9:30pm. Just check the website or call ahead. They suggest arriving a little early to settle in before class starts. If I remember correctly, they have over 7,000 images in their library to choose from. You just need to check the calendar on their website to see which image they'll be painting when. Or, if there is one in particular that you would like to paint, just give them a call and ask about it. They might be able to switch it to a date that works for you. They provide everything you'll need to make your masterpiece. (ie Canvas, brushes, paint, apron, etc). You may bring any drinks and/or food you like. They suggest simple snacks because you may not have the time to eat more than that. Melissa told me she has a wine opener and I saw some wine buckets (thoughtful!) but I suggest bringing any stemware or other utensils you may need because I don't think they provide those. The official grand opening will be this Wednesday August 3, 2016 and I hope I can make it! If not, I'll be back to paint for sure. read more
