Since I "liked" their page I've been meaning to check them out. It took me awhile but finally got there last Friday night for a book reading/crafting event for kids for $5 I knew a little about the business and what they offered from Facebook but didn't really understand the concept till I was there. You can craft here a number of ways. On their walls they have tons of completed projects that can be customized just for you. Mainly the trendy graphic signs and such. For a fee they provide all the supplies, crafting space, and additional materials (glues, etc) as well as instruction. For graphic signs you pick from their enormous supply of specialty papers and they'll cut out the design on their circuit machine, provide instruction than you complete the project. You can customize the print, size, font, papers, and the backboard. You *may* even be able to bring your own design to them to see if it's something they can do. The crafting space is spacious and cozy - the perfect space to connect with friends and socialize while you craft. An added bonus is they do the clean up! While the projects on display are not for sale they are priced so you know how much it will cost to make. While I did feel the prices were the same or higher than buying the project premade from Etsy (for example) the experience and girls night out would make up for it. In addition to crafting on your own they offer workshops for specific projects ranging from graphic signs to string art - both for adults and children. The event we attended was a few days before Christmas. The children were encouraged to come in their jammies to hear a Christmas story, drink hot cocoa, than craft a wooden ornament. All for only $5! Our girls loved the experience and as grandparents we enjoyed that the painting, glue, and mess wasn't in our house! We'll definitely be back to craft some more.

First I have to say...Laird is very talented, loves what he does and you can tell. He's friendly and straight to the point when giving instructions. I highly recommend a visit to his cute little shop. When you walk in, his artwork is everywhere! From jewelry to glass creations and amazing stained glass art -- this is a great unique place to shop for gifts. He offers many different classes as well. Grab some of your girlfriends (or guy friends!!) and try one of his very reasonably priced classes. Parking is in a lot next to the building (off street parking). I bought a certificate for two to try the mosaic class. It is offered on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 6 pm. I dragged my boyfriend along to get him to try something out of his comfort zone, and he enjoyed this first time experience. For the mosaic class we were given a nice size square "stone." Laird gave us some instructions and showed us where to pick our glass pieces that we were going to use. If taking this class, have something in mind BEFORE you show up as he leaves the design entirely up to you. He did show us a couple of examples of his work, but there was no way either one of us could stand up to his talent!! I felt like I took a little time trying to decide what design I wanted to do. No worries, I came up with a kind of "wave" idea and went with that. He has some really cool color glass and I already have an idea of what I would do on my next visit :) Just a tip: For those of you with longer nails, the tiny glass pieces can be challenging to pick up and place!! So when my coworkers planned a private party event at Board and Brush, the thought initially made me cringe. Board and Brush is a DIY workshop that teaches you how to make custom wood signs that you can use for décor pieces around your home. At $68 a project, I was hoping I wasn't going to be just wasting my money on a terrible looking piece of "art". I was SO wrong! This place was an absolute blast and I could not have had more fun. Our private party consisted of 16 people. The facility is BYOB and BYO snacks/food, which was awesome. They had tables set up for our food/drinks, to keep it out of the way while we worked. Weeks before our scheduled date, we picked our projects online and paid. There were SO many options, it was overwhelming! They all looked so cute too - it was hard to pick just one. They have everything from clocks to front porch welcome signs, entryway signs, trays, and height rulers for children. I settled on a 3 piece framed set for our home office. We were able to pay online as well, which was nice to not have to worry about the day of. Tawni is the store manager at this location. She is absolutely wonderful! She explained everything so clearly, and made our evening so much fun. There were also 2 other ladies with Tawni helping her throughout the night. Having 3 people walking around to help was really wonderful. At times, I think we all had questions, and there was always someone readily available to help. The shorthand version of what happens at Board and Brush is this: once you arrive and settle in, your "projects" are brought out to you (which at this point is just a blank piece of wood). You are in charge of sanding the wood, distressing the wood, staining the wood, applying your stencil, and finally painting. It sounds overwhelming, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Like I said, everything was explained so well and it is all done in steps. The entire experience from start to finish took 3 hours, and at the end I was left with an adorable piece of decor that I will be proud to hang in my my house! I cannot wait to book another reservation with my friends to do this again! I highly recommend checking out Board and Brush!

Instead of a painting that inevitably finds its way into the trash, you are left with a cool piece of art on wood that looks like it took way more skill than I possess to make. This store is located right on Fruitville Pike in Lancaster near the shoppes at belmont. When you register for the class you pick one of many designs they have to choose from. They have lots of really cool projects like clocks, monograms, holiday decor, etc. Every step of the project making process from sanding, screwing, staining, stenciling, and painting is facilitated by a lovely and knowledgeable staff member. Tawni helped our table and she certainly had her work cut out for her but she was fabulous and very helpful! Oh, and lest I forget, sipping is encouraged to facilitate the creative process as well. Imagine going to a bar with your friends but you get bring a custom wood sign home instead of giving the bar all your money with nothing to show for it! You are afforded a fun day out and a lovely piece of artwork to show for it. Board and Brush Lancaster was a blast and I will definitely be back!

The Festival runs on Feb. 26-28 & March 5-7 between 9am - 4pm. Essentially, you can create Your Own Whoopie Pie for $4 each, 4 or more at $3.50 each, and 12 or more $3 each. Here's how it works - make your customized selections of one of 12 cookies, one of 11 frostings, and one of 7 toppings, and Brecknock will build your pie. I went full Elvis mode and selected banana cookies, peanut butter frosting, and chocolate chip toppings around the circumference. We had a great time at Brecknock -making our Whoopie pies, playing a whoopie pie trivia game, and picking up a few odds and ends for us and friends. PRO TIP Hats off to Brecknock for their generosity and hospitality. They had free samples everywhere- whoopie pie wedges, pretzels, popcorn, and all sorts of goodies. It worked on us, because after sampling some honey mustard pretzels, we couldn't grab a bag fast enough.

The entire visit was filled with very attentive staff who were always friendly and knowledgeable about the offerings on the menu. The drinks are well thought out and very good. The quality of the ingredients, as well as the flavor profiles work well. It is very difficult to pick from their crafty menu. We tried a total of 4 drinks and all were delicious. Highly recommend the Papucho - such an excellent mix of flavors that are well balanced and a very unique flavor. Honestly, not sure you will find one drink on this menu that isn't delicious. They do offer a menu of various foods. We ordered the octopus and the roasted monk fish. Both were fantastic. The servings are not big so be prepared to order dental dishes or just come with the intention of not getting a massive meal. They are good portions for a small dinner or think tapas. Come EARLY if you want to ensure you'll get a menu item (we often get there around 8 pm or later, some menu items always run out for us). Regardless, this doesn't stop us from coming!

To promote winter tourism, in February they host an annual 10-day bash known as the "Fire & Ice Festival". Local businesses sponsor the creation of an ice sculpture for public display, and we saw dozens of them on Main Street, Broad Street, Juniper Lane and at the entry to Lititz Springs Park. Some of the sculptures we saw were fire trucks, tow trucks, a snowman, Mr. Moneybags from Monopoly, an angel, a unicorn, the Liberty Bell, Mr. Potato Head, a bird, a dog and various other animals, a train, a bicycle, praying hands, and a palm tree. The Fire and Ice Festival also has food trucks, music, kid-centric activities, a photography exhibit and a Lititz pub crawl. We enjoyed looking at the ice sculptures, fed the ducks in the park, shopped at Wilbur Chocolate and the Sturgis Pretzel Bakery, and visited the town's Visitor Center to chat with Earl - one of the coolest ambassadors any town can possibly dream of having.
