I truly thought it was ruined. When I was in high school, my mom hand-embroidered a cougar on the back of my letterman jacket. I still remember her sitting at my soccer games, creating the cougar's face one stitch at a time. Years later, after I had outgrown the jacket, I couldn't bear to part with it. I carefully cut the cougar off, and my mom sewed it onto a denim jacket so I could keep wearing it. That jacket is one of my most treasured possessions. I've always joked that if there were a fire and I could only save one thing, it would be that jacket. So when a hand washing caused the embroidery to bleed and lose its brilliance, I was absolutely devastated. I was in tears when I brought it to The Cleanery because I honestly didn't believe it could be restored. A few days later they called to say it was ready. These guys are punctual, efficient, thorough -- they arrive, look things over, and then just go to work. We were surprised about how rejuvenated our carpeting looked even though we did not think it needed cleaning. Also, they moved everything to clean carpet -- except the piano which would need tuning if moved around. They also put furniture up on little blocks or plastic pads. Can't say enough about how thorough, courteous, and diligent they were. We had this done in the winter, and it took about 6 hours to completely dry.
