I would not recommend ordering from them. For my first time buying furniture, I did not have a good experience.

I was greeted warmly and Maria came to help me. I had been thinking about getting a traditional futon with a good mattress but they were much too heavy for me to manage. Futonland has a nice selection of sofas that easily open up to a futon style bed. The beautiful sofa that I saw online was at this showroom. I was reluctant to take the floor model because it was a bit dirty so Maria said she would call to see if a shipment was coming in anytime soon. She also told me if she couldn't get a new one she was sure the floor model would clean up nicely and she could offer a discounted price. I agreed to her offer and she gave me her cell number. It took a little more than a week but she followed up and said a new sofa would not be available. She cleaned the floor model and sent pictures. It cleaned up nicely and she offered a discount on the price. Even more accommodating, I asked for a delayed shipping date due to plumbing and painting issues and she agreed. She even sent me pictures of 3 different free pillows to choose from. I paid for "White Glove" delivery and the sofa was delivered on time and assembled. It is just beautiful! I am very pleased with the whole "Futonland" shopping experience. Advice to anyone reading this... when possible you should always buy from local stores that you can visit and view exactly what you are buying. Be a polite and respectful customer and mostly likely you will be treated the same way back.

I ordered the item in the Target app and then drove to the store once I received the notice that it was ready for pick up. I know this location is not exactly "new" but it is not exactly old either. Let's go with new-ish. This means that a lot of the shops around it are also relatively new (I'm purely going by how worn down the buildings and restaurants look). It was kind of cool to visit a new-ish business but if you're thinking this Target is going to be like the larger ones at Menlo Park you may be disappointed. This Target is more like a "medium" sized one. While it does offer a good variety, the aisles are a bit more cramped and everything just feels a bit more "squished together" than other Targets I have visited. The day I went it was chaotic, but it *was* Christmas shopping season so perhaps that goes without saying. All that said, the place was as organized as a Target during Christmas shopping season can be. The employees were all very nice, especially in helping me locate the bathrooms which were oddly all the way in the back to the right. Quite unusual. My order was ready for pick up as promised and I had no issues picking it up. High marks for service. I'm not going to go out of my way to go to this Target, but my experience was good but not amazing. Your mileage may vary.

In each case it took nearly 30 minutes to resolve. In today's in person experience it took nearly 15 minutes to track down an employee to help open up a locked pharmacy shelf, even though the store was empty. That's the unusual thing here... this Target is fairly new and usually is not packed. It's a shame because they are the closest Target to me, and they also have a Starbucks inside. If I'm dependent on an item I might go to Clifton instead, and only come here to shop for groceries.

Their merchandise is great and could last you a life time. My parents have bought several items as well. I grew up with their furniture in my house. They also have a large selection in stock. They have plenty of binders that are full of options that aren't in the store. The prices are magnificent. I tried a bunch of places (Ashley's Furniture, Mace Brothers, etc) and they were really expensive compared to Leslie's. I paid $1,900 for a large, luxury, leather couch. I looked at a similar couch at Mace Brothers and they wanted to charge $2,300 or more for bonded leather. As for service, the staff is knowledgable, especially Jack. Jack was extremely patient and was so great with us. He helped us find the perfect fit for our confined space. He knows his stuff. The delivery guys are great because they are hospitable and do everything they can for the customers. They have a warehouse and store. The buildings are a few blocks away from each other. The staff of both locations were fantastic and helpful. The area, however, is not a dream spot. Newark has declined in recent years with crime rates rising. I sometimes fear trekking around that area. But the prices and quality send me back every time. I would highly recommend this store.
