Unfortunately, she missed our deadline three separate times, delivered a frame that was not what we agreed on, and the painting itself has already started peeling away from the canvas after only two months (see photo). 1. Repeatedly missed deadlines When we first met on April 9, Heba quoted a one-week turnaround. Ten days later, she said she needed another week. We agreed. Another week passed, and she again requested more time. We agreed a second time. By early May, we had a firm deadline because the painting was needed for an event. She finally completed the job the day before that deadline--nearly a month after we originally dropped it off. 2. Delivered a completely different frame I was very specific about the frame I wanted. I provided reference photos and videos, and Heba assured me it would not be a problem. After delaying the project multiple times, she called the day before delivery and informed me she could not make the frame we had agreed upon. Instead, she told me she could only use frames she already had in stock, or she would simply return the painting unframed. At that point, we had no realistic choice because we needed the artwork for our event the next day. Rather than acknowledging the situation, she became defensive and insisted the substitute frame was "extremely high quality" and that I was getting a bargain--even though it was not what we had agreed on. To make matters worse, on the delivery day she initially framed it in white instead of the blonde wood finish we had selected, causing yet another delay. 3. Poor workmanship Only two months later, the painting has started peeling away from the canvas at multiple corners. This is not normal for professionally mounted artwork. We deliberately waited before writing this review because we understand how challenging it can be to run a small business. However, once the artwork began failing after just two months, we felt other customers should know about our experience. For comparison, a friend owns the exact same artwork mounted in the exact same style I originally requested--the style Heba told me was "nearly impossible." That piece has been hanging for over a year and remains in perfect condition. If you're framing something sentimental or valuable, I strongly recommend using a dedicated professional framing shop. Based on our experience, the work was significantly delayed, the agreed-upon design was not delivered, and the finished product failed after only two months.

I have given ROOQ Tribeca so many chances and there is always problems with this framing store. I…read morehave spent $$$ hundreds having to return frames to be fixed after they were just made. At the end they damaged a very very expensive piece by putting a crease down the middle of the piece. Looks like they placed something heavy on it or had other artwork leaning on it, which is how they store works to be done. They couldn't even put D rings on straight and had to redo the frames twice. I had to take 5 frames back since all the D rings were totally off and the pieces couldn't be hung properly. They actually had to redo the same frames 3 times - because they didn't put the proper hanging equipment the first time and then put the D rings on wrong the second. Other artworks weren't properly hinged and had to be redone over again. Sides of prints were coming off right after they were framed, due to not properly being hinged. Overall, I had to take more than seven frames to be redone - due to problems that should have never happened. They do not have a pick up or delivery service so you will have to bring things back and forth - if any issues happens which cost $$$ (lyft/uber) and is a big hassle to do. Last week they further damage a new artwork by putting a new crease down the middle of the entire print. It was an extremely expensive print as well. There was slight damage already to the piece before we framed it and we (Rooq and I) noted that specific damage. After, it was framed there was a NEW large crease that went down the entire middle of print that was never there before - it ruined the artwork and its value. We would have clearly seen this, prior to framing it - if it was there. It wasn't. This is a new large crease they caused while framing the piece. There are photos of the piece before it was framed and in those photos there is no damage down the entire middle of the print - whatsoever. I looked over this print many many times before having it framed and never was their a crease down the middle of the artwork. ROOQ and I would have noted that damage before it was framed during the inspection; it wasn't there when we did inspected before framing the piece. But after it was framed - there was a large crease which clearly wasn't there before. I showed them the new issues and they refused to accept any responsibility whatsoever. It's upsetting, they promised to take care of the new artwork since they admitted they did cause so many issues with my other frames - things I mentioned above. I spoke to them about all these previous issues we had and asked ROOQ to please to take care of this piece. They promised they would and I trusted them which was a massive mistake - instead they damaged the artwork. Again, this wasn't the first time they messed up our frames and I should had never used them again after the first issues. Beware of ROOQ, the quality of work simply isn't very good and I kept giving them chance and chance again to frame things properly - and they never did. They aren't the cheapest either - these frames should have been done properly the first time. Also, they never refunded me for any of the damages, ever, and I always had to pay extra $$$ bring back items back and forth to get fixed over and over. I wish - I didn't have to write this review but it was an ABSOLUTE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE dealing with ROOQ framing over the past year.

If I could leave zero stars, I would. Three years after hiring General Lumber, we're still dealing…read morewith the consequences of their poor workmanship and lack of accountability. We selected General Lumber after comparing several companies, trusting Robert--our main point of contact--who repeatedly assured us, "We're local and not going anywhere." That promise quickly unraveled. We hired them to order Marvin windows and manage installation for 17 windows across two units in our building. They were not the cheapest, but we chose them based on their claim of experience and quality. During installation, Robert and his contractor decided to alter the placement of the windows without understanding the original design intent or performing any verification. They admitted they "didn't understand" why our previous windows were placed where they were--but moved forward anyway. We trusted them as the supposed experts. That was a costly mistake. Shortly after installation, water began leaking into both units and the shared lobby during rainstorms. These areas had never experienced water intrusion in the five years prior to the install. We raised the issue immediately in September 2021. Robert visited once, performed a cursory visual inspection, and began a months-long pattern of excuse-making and blame-shifting. He variously blamed a "once-in-a-lifetime storm," the cornice, and our roof--none of which stood up to basic scrutiny or third-party inspections. Instead of acknowledging the problem or investigating further, Robert and General Lumber resorted to misinformation and deflection. At one point, they claimed water wasn't entering "through or around" their installation--ignoring the fact that they had changed the physical placement of the windows, which compromised drainage and blocked weep holes. Our own hose testing demonstrated conclusively that water was entering above the windows--exactly where they sealed over a critical drainage gap. General Lumber refused to take accountability, perform any real diagnostics, or even revisit the job site for follow-up testing. When we withheld the final payment due to unresolved issues, they threatened us with legal action and filed a lien against our property. We went to arbitration. My husband, with no legal training, meticulously presented our evidence. Robert and his legal team were unprepared. Their entire defense relied on vague references to extreme weather and unverified claims--while we provided photographic evidence, water test results, contractor correspondence, and expert confirmations. The arbitrator ruled in our favor. The outcome? We still have 12 faulty windows that will need to be completely redone at a cost of $12,000 or more--on top of the $28,000 we already paid General Lumber. Robert and his team never stood by their work, never offered a solution, and used legal threats to try and silence us. This has been a nightmare of wasted time, money, and stress. If you're considering General Lumber--especially if you're trusting Robert to stand by his word--proceed with caution. They talk a good game about being "local" and reputable. But when things go wrong, they disappear, deflect, and leave you to pick up the pieces.
