It should be noted that this location recently underwent new ownership, and the new owner is absolutely delightful. I have been in several times this summer and am always greeted with a smile. The store is no longer messy but tidy and organized. It's efficiently run, too. It wasn't horrible before, but the difference in customer service is noticeable and noteworthy. I was so sad when this location closed bc it's Uber convenient for online returns as she takes all sorts of carriers (UPS/FedEx, etc) so it's a one-stop shop. I brought several out of the ordinary items (e.g. fly fishing rod, decanter and wine glasses) for shipping to the UK and EU. I was greeted with cheerful helpfulness and competence, given several choices as to means of shipping, and items were delivered quickly and intact, The shop is tidy and well organized and the owner quite knowledgeable and friendly. These are nice nice people. But in 2013, I had several items to pack and ship to various places at a decent profit for Pak Mail. Two of the shipments were sent to the wrong places. Then, when attempting to correct this, they sent the package to the wrong address again! Then the third attempt to correct it included an incorrect address and a label sent to the wrong address. I lost a lot of money and stomach lining on this one. I could have walked them through it. read more

Consumers beware! This business misrepresents the costs of services and takes advantage of their customers. In a moment of Christmas-madness induced panic, I was almost bamboozled by the employees of this store that it was necessary for me to pay $196.00 to ship a 4-lb box to CA - with four mail delivery days left before Christmas. I was quoted $197 to ship via FedEx; $196 via UPS. She literally laughed at me when I expressed my shock and disagreement that this absurd price was accurate, lecturing me that I just didn't understand how the mail worked before Christmas (!). I replied that I was pretty sure the US Postal Service could send it via priority mail and have it to CA in two days, since my box was being shipped to a UPS store in LA. The employee rudely told me I was wrong and that USPS "could never get it there in time." So I left and went to the post office, where I was able to get 2-day priority service for $47 (it did in fact arrive in CA in 2 days, on the Thursday before Christmas Monday). I told the story to the ladies at the post office, and we all had a nice laugh. Turns out, I could have OVERNIGHTED the box with USPS for only $65. Not really sure what PakMail's MO is, other than blatantly ripping people off at a stressful time, but I certainly won't be going back there ever again. read more
