I love this place. It's been unlike most grocery stores in Boston as I feel that I have access to a…read morewhole lot more variety that what I'd see otherwise. It's clean, colorful, has that small market feel yet packed full with lots of items. You enter and there's a good selection of fruit, produce, cheeses from Europe, meats, caviar, fish, and lots more. Plus, they have a legit baked goods section with tasty treats and fantastic bread. The prices are pretty reasonable and I like supporting local business. Their beer selection is also great which I'm surprised they have beers most don't even carry.

I have been a loyal customer of Bazaar/Baza supermarkets for over 20 years. For years, any rare issues were resolved quickly and politely. Recently, I bought seven 1-quart containers of freshly cooked soups as part of my purchase. One container of kharcho had almost no meat. This had happened before in another store of that chain (in Newton), and I received a replacement after showing the receipt. This time, the manager was not friendly. When I asked for a replacement or refund, she looked at me and said, "Male, why do you think I will honor your request?" When I mentioned the store's reputation, she laughed in my face. She then claimed I should have come sooner and that she would need to review hours of video footage to verify the cook's mistake -- all for a $5.94 item (after discount). Her attitude was exactly like that of the old Soviet stores: "The customer is always wrong." This is unacceptable. I feel no desire to shop at this location anymore. I prefer places that care about their reputation.
