Kiki's is different from any family owned market I've been to. In terms of groceries I see there is alot of care that goes into the products they choose. There are a lot of unique offerings and you can see they source from smaller producers as well as household names. I've never tried it but I could probably get most of my groceries from kiki's and it probably wouldn't cost much more than going to the supermaket. This place is the best! It is the perfect store to pop in and grab groceries, cleaning supplies, and essentials. The shelves are always fully stocked with paper products, dairy items, snacks, pastas, soups, etc. The line moves very quickly and when I need something quick, I'll run over. They also have the BEST breakfast sandwiches and deli. On Sunday mornings, it's a popular spot for people to grab breakfast and pick up some snacks. My favorite thing to get is bacon and egg with Mayo on a croissant. You can call ahead to place and order so it's ready when you get there too. read more

I used to love this place and the sense community it provided between neighbors and staff. Now the staff are rude and act like I'm bothering them when checking out. Not to mention the criminal prices. The up charge on items has gotten out of hand. I understand this is a small business and inflation but $8 for a loaf of bread when it clearly has the unit price printed on it for $5. Also, check for expired items. This review actually hurts to write. Kiki's has been my favorite neighborhood business for the last 12 years. I stop by several times a week for foods and other household necessities. However, two employees NEVER appear to wear their masks during the highest point of the Covid Pandemic. It is always under their chins while they stock the floor. Today one of them came within a foot of me as I was getting coffee. I politely asked "Could you wear your mask, please?" and was ignored. So I said "excuse me" and when they acknowledged me I make a gesture to pull his mask up. He gave me a dirty look and said "Yeah, I know." and continued to stock mini-donuts without a mask. This is so sad, mainly because the rest of the Kiki's staff are fantastic people. I believe these two gentlemen belong to the family that recently purchased the business, since they have only been working here for the last 1-2 years. After 12 years of being a proud and loyal customer, I've made the decision not to return until the Pandemic is over. It's just not safe. They are putting their customers and staff at risk. Just to clarify, this is not a store-wide issue, just these two employees. I can forgive a one-off instance where they may have forgotten, but this is something I've witnessed at least 10 times. And being rude to a customer when asked to follow state guidelines just isn't right. I'll miss you Kiki's. You were my absolute favorite breakfast joint in town. Hopefully this review will not be ignored and the owners will realize that this carelessness will effect your business. read more

One of the best convenience stores I've been to in the city! Whenever you don't feel like driving out to Stop & Shop, Kiki's has you covered with all the staples, and even a small selection of meat and produce. Got a case of the munchies? Go to Kiki's! This place has the best snacks around, including a great selection of imported candies, especially Irish/British (with some other additions like the elusive Coffee Crisp from Canada). The deli here is pretty decent. The bacon egg and cheese was very tasty, and they can even make your sandwich on a Portuguese roll (common where I'm from in CT, but rare in these parts). The steak & cheese I ordered from here was kind of dry though. I'll have to try more sandwiches to give a final verdict on the deli. The store seems to be doing a pretty decent job at protecting its staff and customers against COVID-19. All staff members and customers were wearing masks as of my last visit, there are now Plexiglas shields over the registers. read more

This is the greatest convenience store, and I'm so grateful to live in walking distance, particularly during COVID. They have a deli, all the snacks you'd expect from a convenience store, some grocery staples, and a ton of Irish imports. It is the perfect spot for if you need a quick lunch or you need a Ben & Jerry's fix or you ran out of milk and don't want to go to the grocery store. I've often come here for a quick bite or quick convenience which they have never disappointed. Breakfast sandwiches are great and there wraps are huge and packed with flavor. The real reason for my review are the genuine associates and owners of the place. I recently walked down needing some Parchment paper for a recipe. When I asked the associate if they had some and she regrettably said no, she then offered me a few pieces of there own used for baking there cookies and left them at the register for when I checked out. What happened to Kiki's?????????????? While I agree they have an excellent selection of Imported stuff (great chocolate), I had THE WORST roast beef sub today that I have ever had. The beef was so tough that I had to spit it out and throw it away. Enough chewing couldn't have gotten through that sandwich, no matter how hungry I was. Also, the woman at the deli was so busy bitching about the morning staff leaving "all the work for the night staff", and the kid at the register didn't say hello or thanks. What a GREAT Brighton gem. I was blessed to live within walking distance of this place for years and I still go back regularly after moving to allston. On the outside it may look like a typical bodega, but it's so much more. They have a great assortment of irish/British imported snacks and sweets, and a good selection of other common groceries that you wouldn't expect for it being such a small store. It's no wonder I see so many people there who look live they've traveled from far and wide with carts full of irish chips and candies. The best park about Kikis is their deli. Love Kikis! I got a job in Brighton earlier this year and this is now my favorite place for lunch. Great sandwiches, salads, gyro's, you name it! Lunch here is about the same price as a fast food chain... but MUCH better quality food. If I lived near here I'm sure I'd pop in for groceries now and then if I didn't feel like driving all the way to a super market. The parking lot can be a bit of a bitch to park in... especially if a delivery truck is unloading at the same time. That is probably my only complaint. read more

Everyone is complaining about the prices. All of the Irish goods are IMPORTED. Do you have any idea how much it costs to ship this stuff? Convenient store prices are typically higher than grocery stores because grocery stores buy in bulk. Let's say they are purchasing yogurt. They are purchasing at least 10xs more than a small convenient store. It costs them less so they can charge less. And they are chain stores. In the deli, everything is cooked fresh everyday. The bread is delivered fresh daily, the meats, cheese, and vegetables are cut fresh daily. Not to mention all the overhead costs. If there is something she doesn't carry, all you have to do is ask, Kiki will do her best to get it for you. Kiki is there everyday!! Don't be deterred by bad reviews. This little convenience store nestled on a corner in Brighton is a beacon for many Irish immigrants. Not only in the area but in general. I drove here from New Hampshire as I know the selection of real goods from home they have. Living in America is great, but sometimes you need the familiar tastes and smells of home, and here provides that in abundance. Some people have complained about the prices. To you I say, a chocolate bar at home is about €0.85. Here they are $1.50. When you take into account the exchange at the moment and the cost to import, I see them making a tiny profit on these items, and am happy to pay them for it. I've had the honor of living near Kiki's for the past 6 years of my life. It all started when my co-worker, Mike, told me that Kiki's had the cheapest milk in town. He forgot to mention that it also has a full service deli with an All-Star squad manning the grill and stations. Kiki's has gotten me out of a bind more times than I can count, and has saved me from taking a trip out to Stop and Shop since they decided to kill off bFresh (RIP, I miss you). Need a pint of Ben and Jerry's? Kiki's. Forgot to get bbq sauce at the grocery store? Kiki's. Need a Gatorade because you're soul suckingly hungover? Kiki's. This place is unlike any other convenience store you will ever visit. I mean, it's not even really a convenience store. It's more of like... a mini supermarket? (sort of?) with a bunch of imported foods from Ireland and the British Isles (which is fantastic) and a deli (which makes amazing sandwiches - I can't get enough) and a little bit of everything that you would ever need. Somewhat on the expensive side but they tend to have a wide selection so that makes up for it. I really, really, really wish they were open past ten. Really. I'm in here enough in the daytime but it's always thismuch past ten when I could use them the most and I'm left high and dry. Then again, this is Boston and there's not much open that late anyway... When I moved into this neighborhood, I really needed an Orangina. Kiki's gave me so much more - oh so much more. Kiki's has the best deal on Milk that I have ever witnessed in all my days ($3/gallon special that's been going on since I got here). It's like having a lifelong milk parade that causes my cereal to flow rich with nourishment and goodness. Every time I run out, I return to Kiki's to buy more milk. Sometimes, I also buy hot pepper relish. Kiki's deli provides the best price/calorie ratio on many tasty items. I'm horrible at making decisions, so I pretty much buy the sub of the month every month. When I ask for suggestions, I never wind up getting what they suggesting, but I do sometimes find myself in the midst of a friendly unrelated conversation. Some people are complaining about prices. Have you ever been to a convenience store? If this were a Shaw's, it would say Shaw's on it and moreover would be a Shaw's. Some people are complaining that the staff isn't friendly. Perhaps YOU should try being friendly to them - you can't expect the staff to treat you like royalty if you're not even remotely cool. Some people are saying that you should go to Faneuil St. Market instead - well you can't - 'cause Kiki's already scared it out of existence. Kiki's remains open even when the world has closed it's doors - if and when the Rapture does occur, I'm confident that Kiki will force someone to stay behind to man the counter. read more

I can pretty much be found here on a weekly basis. Their subs are awesome and around $5.99 for a large. They put the $5 foot longs from Subway to shame! The deli ladies are always fun to talk to while you wait for your sandwich to be made. In addition to the great deli, they carry just about any Irish item you are looking for. The prices for certain imports can be high, but there are always having sales making most items just pennies over American stuff. And who can beat British chocolate and treats? Its okay. They have a huge selection of everything and a lot of european items. Come here for essentials you dont want to run to stop n shop for (eggs, scallions, baguettes, bacon, milk...etc) The sandwich line moves fast which can be appreciated but my turkey and lettuce on white is cheaper, and much better across the street at faneuil st market. not really a reason to bitch, but they always cut my sandwich in half here. The only thing convenient about Kiki's bodega is that it is literally down the street from where I live. I'm new to this neighborhood and when I saw that there was a Simpson's Kwik-e-mart look-a-like I rejoiced knowing that I could literally hop, skip or jump and I'd be right at the front door to get a cup of sugar or gallon of milk and this "convenient" store would be there for me. I learned (unfortunately on a empty stomach) that place closes before my little cousin goes to bed (he's 5 years old), I quickly learned that their milk expires faster than if you left it on a heater toasted to 85 degrees, I quickly learned that even there sugar is over priced just like they're bootleg dvd's (20 bones for "Kill the Irishman"!? The movie was dope I know, but I mean go to any black barber shop (I recommend Cut 'n Edge on Mass Ave and Columbus and some dude is bound to walk in and peddle his wares, same quality 3 for 15! Come on! Never been to a real barbershop go to Chinatown even cheaper). I QUICKLY learned that if you don't watch the deli workers like a starving hawk they will jack up your sandwich like they want you to write a scathing review on yelp. P.s. if I was theoretically keeping score (who does that??) it would be Guys 0:Women 3....as in three different women on three different occasions jacked up three different sandwiches. You're best bet is to get something that can't be ruined easily like a Powerade which is always on sale ( 2 for 3 dollars:awesome), a stick a gum, or carmax lip balm. So those are the three things I get at Kwik-e-mart but alas "desperate time's call for desperate measures" so i'm in here more than I'd like to be. Kiki's is a strange place - part deli, part market, part quick-convenience. I can find some really obscure, unexpected things that even Stop and Shop won't have (like Kerrygold Irish butter and cheese), but not others (like dark chocolate chips). I've never tried any of their deli stuff, so I can't vouch for that, but the grocery experience here is just "OK". Staff is okay. Prices are okay (a bit high). Cleanliness of the place is barely okay. The parking lot, however, is atrocious. Standing at roughly ten feet tall among the many towering three-family units of Brighton, Kiki's still maintains its place as a beacon of light and hope. Kiki's is our go-to place for an awesome breakfast sandwich. Hot Irish bacon and sausage with a fried egg and HP sauce on a fresh Portuguese roll or baguette is mouthwateringly delicious. The staff is very friendly and as busy as Kiki's always is when we are there, our order comes quickly and correctly. Regarding the store, it's always well stocked and clean.
