After a fire at my home, I hired TPM General Contractors to perform the rebuilding work and paid most of the contract amount expecting the work to be completed properly. Unfortunately, my experience involved what I believe to be shoddy and incomplete work. There were also concerning issues related to electrical work, heating vents that appeared to have been covered rather than properly installed, some items that appeared to be lower quality than what was originally expected, and a proper crawl space/attic access was never installed, along with many other concerns. Less than one year after moving back into my home, the brand new siding already needs to be replaced. Because these issues were never resolved, the remaining balance has now become part of a legal dispute. Since then, I have met with multiple homeowners who have dealt with TPM General Contractors in Liverpool, NY and reported similar experiences, including concerns about work quality, being overcharged, or being billed for items that were never completed. I am posting this in hopes that other homeowners who may have had work performed by TPM General Contractors in Liverpool, NY will share their experiences so people can better understand the full picture before hiring them. First I was quoted a completely different price on both the visit and then asked for the owner Scott Rockwell, that works solo to check with the lab how much it would cost to send them air samples ($30) and tape samples ($20).. because I'm a single mom and haven't worked since my little son was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. I made it really clear that i needed prices before i commit to anything because of my financial situation - long story short all of a sudden the $50 home visit that was promised became $104 and the lab charges from the Rockwell statement were now $177 - totaling now from what originally was discussed 2/3 of this price. I decided to call the lab and ask how much they charged for my tests.. they said each air sample was $30 ( i had 2) and my tape sample was $20. Totaling in $80 not $176 as billed plus labor charges that were doubled. When I confronted scott he went on about how it was impossible to quote me those lab prices because apparently my tests were super expensive - lies. My $180 bill grew to $277... he denies this.. also told me if I pay now he will reduce the bill by $100. When I stated that I first wanted an explanation of these new and fabricated charges, he threatened me into collections - next morning I paid my full amount - this guy is a crook. Stay far away from him. Not only is he really unprofessional, he's rude, lacks communication skills and cheats people out of money.

Luke was supposed to call and set it up. I was at work over an hour away. I told them how to get in( not happy about not being home while they were there). 2.my plumber found they had put a drain hose into a non working drain(also while I wasn't home) and water was backing up into my basement.3.when I did return home, I found when they removed my moldings, they didn't use care at all(both of my contractors told me this). they ripped Sheetrock that I had to fix, 4.took a ceiling fan down, but didn't leave hardware, left dirty ceiling fan(water had poured out of it) and molding with nails in it on the unaffected dining room rug. 5.we also never found some of the moldings(my house is over 150 yo), 6.they broke a deck step when they pulled their machines out(found right after they left) 7. when they removed machines(I was home) not one of them had boot covers or anything. i had to clean up snow from their boots throughout my home after they left. 8. when asked for a bill, 2 months later, was told they hadn't gotten to it yet- they were busy. my insurance agent requested it to close out my claim. was told this all 3 times I called for a bill. Angel came and vacuumed , we told him we hear rattling in the squirrel cage when the furnace turns on . Two days later a HVAC tech came out, on a Sunday and found a fistful of debris in the cage and a plastic ball in the heat exchanger . Pictures enclosed . The expensive filters we bought were clogged for a 3rd time since our duct cleaning . Adonis offered the tech fee . But we agreed the foam installed to keep dirt out of my furnace failed . Over $1k spent . A compromised furnace now . I'm a retired Codes inspector, and Carrier trained tech as well , so I know I'm going to potentially have issues going forward . The before and after pictures didn't exist or weren't retrieved by Stanley Steamer. Buyer beware .
