The standout to us were their donuts. We've had donuts from Florida to Vegas and states in between and theirs are quite possibly the best donuts we've ever had! I may move to Fountain City, just to be closer. Fountain City is run by local Amish. They produce and sell just about everything including furniture, dry goods, cheese and other dairy products. The shop is immense and immaculate. The shelves are filled with colorful candy, locally produced grains and flour, pasta galore, and more. At one end of the store is a bakery selling fresh donuts, pies and fry cakes. At the other end is a deli, making fresh sandwiches to order. The sandwiches are amazing. I had a turkey and ham sandwich on rye. The sandwich was packed with meat, cheese and fresh toppings. This was the best sandwich that I have had in a long time and it was $3.99. There is no place to eat inside, so you must take your food to go. The staff were friendly and efficient. The cheeses are amazing and flavorful. I picked up horseradish and bacon cheeses. The prices are reasonable. You can even buy chicken coups and outbuildings. There was an extensive collection of bird food and custom feeders. There is plenty of mid week parking, but probably crowded on weekends. Bring a cooler. This shop is fabulous.

I called in advance of coming to Kroger @ New Castle to purchase tickets to the Beach Boys concert on 8/5 at Conner Prairie! I was told that the advanced sale tickets were $29 each. When I came into the store I was told that the $29 tickets were not available for the August 5 concert by the Beach Boys. It was printed on the tickets!. I can only guess that the person that spoke to me on the phone did not know how to read! This is certainly not up to Kroger's standards!

The produce is right when you walk in, then stick to the outside of the store, and you've got your meats, cheeses, dairy, and you're good. People just complain because they moved things around recently and change is hard. Now the bad: Kroger makes it super clear that they do not give a damn about you. Often there are 0 checkout lanes open here. 0 lanes, so you have to check yourself out. Self-checkouts are for people who have just a few items and want the convenience of not waiting. They are NOT a replacement for real people when I have a cart with $200 worth of crap in it. "Thank you, valued customer" my ass. If I was a valued customer, the front-end manager wouldn't be leaning on the counter watching me check myself out. There are some management issues here in general, because every time I have to talk to management (w Prices are high everywhere, yes? But sales are cool, right? Wrong. Kroger Digital Coupons means you're walking through the store, see a 'deal', and then have to screw around on your phone for 2 minutes, working through their app's horrible interface, just to save a couple of bucks. It's not a convenience - it's a pain in the ass. And don't get me started on gas points. People have electric cars now. I do not care about gas points.
