My mom lives in the area so brought her here for Mother's Day. They usually only do evening/dinner service but did a lunch for the holiday. Nice cozy atmosphere. I've seen more highly styled and decorated places but it's still a great Italian vibe. These kind of places are all about the food and they didn't disappoint! You can tell everything is made super fresh right in the kitchen. Regular dishes like Cesar salad and spaghetti are elevated. So tasty! They had a smaller holiday menu. But everything sounded great. Prices are appropriate for the quality and size. Tuesday are 50% off so that would be a day to come really dig into their menu! Lots of street parking. Not a huge place but def it only enough seating. They take reservations but you should be ok to walk in on most regular nights. The staff was friendly and helpful with anything we needed. read more

Service was very friendly, but overall the experience didn't quite match the price. The food took about an hour and a half to come out after we sat down, even though it wasn't very busy. For paying over $100, I expected a bit more in both quality and timing. The $65 pasta cheese wheel was pretty bland and came in a surprisingly small portion. The menu is great with wonderful choices, ordered the braised short rib which was very tasty and spot on in terms of flavor( Risotto was cooked perfectly as well). Made a reservation through open table and we were welcomed and seated in short order. Very pleasant and capable wait staff (but we had to ask for parmigiana cheese for our meals. Dined at Palinuro Italian Cuisine with a party of six celebrating a birthday. The service was amazing which gave me a great first impression before tasting a single bite. The ambiance could accommodate a romantic outing or spaciously seat a large party. We started with calamari which was perfectly cooked, crispy with a tender rings. The Beet Salad is a must try, it's as attractive as it is tasty. My entree was the Lamb Shank flavorful and tender with a great gravy covering. It was okay. I got the pasta that comes in the parmesan cheese wheel. I feel for $65 the pasta was not all that great, and quantity. I added shrimp on the side and that was very good. The shrimp was significantly better than the pasta. The customer service was really good. read more

I read many positive reviews for Palinuro. We couldn't have been more disappointed. Service was slow. They don't have iced tea (only water & soda). They don't offer ice with their water. Extremely limited menu (not the menu they show online). Fish of the day was snapper, which I love, so I ordered it. Husband ordered lasagna. After about an hour, our entrees were served. Fish was coated in a breading (unnecessary), served with half a lemon & soggy mixed vegetables (mostly spinach & bell peppers). The fish was mushy & tasteless. Husband said the lasagna was very dry. Waiter never checked on us. Overall a disappointing experience. There are too many good restaurants to spend my money at Palinuro. read more

Highly disappointed with food and service. They don't provide bread with anything. The famous cheese wheel pasta was prepared away from us and brought cold and when mentioned they took it and 10 minutes later brought the scallops ordered to go with it separately in a bowl. Then another 10 minutes brought a heated plate of pasta missing the truffles or parmesan shavings. 1&1/2 hours later we received hour main course- veal without anything on the plate but arugula; 1 braised short rib on risotto with a sauce that tasted like it came from a plain brown gravy packet mix. When we asked if they had deserts we were told only vanilla gelato. This was a ridiculously expensive lousy experience. 2&1/2 hours of disappointment. read more

Went here for birthday and it was a great choice! The truffle cheese wheel pasta was the best pasta I have ever had. It was smooth and creamy without being too rich or heavy, with a hint of nuttiness from the truffles. The server spun the fresh pasta around in the 1 year-aged large cheese wheel in front of us and the performance was a nice show. We also got the veal cutlet with broccolini and roasted potatoes- the veal was a bit too salty and rich (borderline fishy), but the sides were fantastic. Went to dinner for our anniversary and this place was fantastic. It is very unassuming in a strip mall, but once you are inside it is the cutest place. The service was excellent. There was a nice wine list and we both enjoyed a glass. I loved the warm bread with olive oil, and my fiance and I shared the Caesar salad which was also wonderful. One of the specials that my fiance got was a thin fettuccine tossed in the cheese wheel with truffles made tableside and it was amazing! I had the chicken Marsala with a side of angel hair with marinara. I ordered the Lemoncello marscapone cake for dessert (which I took to go bc I was so full) and they sent us a nice anniversary dessert. Our server (male) last night was amazing however the server assistant (female) who help pour water or give bread was not pleasant and didn't even acknowledge my hellos or thank yous. Seemed more overall annoyed. I loved the food, ambiance, and server tho! Also I'm writing this review to say make a reservation!!! Dining room is small. When we walked they did have a table for us however I felt terrible for not having a reservation already. Honestly was shocked they had something there is no reason this place isn't booked solid weeks in advance ! My friend who've visit Italy and explore the awesome eats there said, "Palinuro delivers Exactly that!" I had salmon pasta, not a menu item. ( I only get my fish cooked well.) This was the BEST WELL DONE SALMON I've EVER EATEN IN MY LIFE! (no exaggeration) even the following day it was perfect! (It look like chicken.) Salmon notes: Season was on point. The texture of the wellness solution was Perfection! Meaning it was soften with juice, (NOT DRY.) Only thing I would ask for next visit is more sauce, and my pasta a bit more tender. Came tonight to eat for the first time. Located in Cinco Ranch strip center, parking ample. Small dining area small bar. Great service- make reservations as it does get busy for a Sat. night. Got two glasses of Italian Pinot Noir- delicious! Fresh salads...ordered two entrees- Linguine Palinuro (clams w/spicy sauce) and special Osso Bucco. The osso bucco on bed of risotto was perfect and savory. However, my linguine was too salty for my taste. Flavor was good but their silverware was hard to hold especially when trying to twist the pasta around the fork. read more
