I can't say enough about palm beach tan Austin, and the arboretum location especially. They have an amazing selection of beds, a clean facility, and an incredibly friendly and customer service oriented staff. Recently after seeing that a floor hadn't been cleaned before the room was assigned to me to tan, I received a call from McKenzie moments after I left apologizing for the oversight and granting upgrades to my account to compensate. The customer service at the Arboretum location goes above and beyond and it is noticed and appreciated by its loyal customers! Never have had a better experience at a tanning salon than I did today. Lindsay was working the front desk and was so helpful and knowledgeable. I usually always do the versa spa, but she explained to me the differences between that and mystic and even convinced me to try it out. She really made the experience a great one. Always something wrong or broken with machines. All the workers are only nice to you to try to sell you a product once you decline they give you the cold shoulder. All the workers are either really dumb and are 25+ with no career goals or young students who really don't give a damn about anyone but themselves. They also almost always let the computer out smart them.... not to mention they don't buy the proper foot stickies for the spray booths they just buy grocery store shoe covers so either get no tan on my feet at all or I wear nothing and my feet get brown on the bottom. My main concern is kindness and welcoming I don't feel I get that and if I paying you 60$ a month/ paying your bills be nice. I shouldn't feel like I am being a inconvenience. read more

I've been a member here for 5 or 6 years. It's always been pretty good to me! The associates are friendly and knowledgeable, the facility seems clean, and they regularly update their beds and spray-tan booths. I really enjoy having member reward points that I can redeem for free tanning products or discounts. read more

I am a brand new member at Palm Beach Tan mainly for pricing and options. I have a "Silver Package" and is only $19.99 a month. I came here on my lunch break with my assistant to get memberships and it took our entire lunch to do so. The employee was very knowledgeable and polite. Slightly pushy but that's to be expected. My only complaint thus far and the reasoning behind 4 stars is they clearly understaff. This poor girl had a line of about 8 people behind us and she said it is normal to get that backed up and tried to accommodate everyone's needs. I might recommend staffing more for busier hours or days. read more

I live in a different city and needed to get a spray tan. I was sent to this particular location because they had a Versa Spa Pro - however, due to different regions, apparently, you have a "dummy" profile in the new region. So unnecessary gas was wasted because not all Palm Beach Tan employees know this. I walked in and let the woman know I was from a different region. The woman that checked me in - a woman with dark brown shoulder length hair - tried to sell me primer, which I already had. The room was filthy and there were no goggles. I left an expensive item in this room. When I realized that I had left it and called back, the two people that I spoke to on the phone were rude - especially the man. He was unwilling to check the lost and found and pretty much just wrote me off. It was some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Next I asked to talk to the woman that had originally checked me in. She at least went into the room and checked the room out as well as the lost and found box (the man was unwilling to do either of these things). Still the item was not found. This woman told me that she was the next person in the room following my departure to clean it. They, however, would not call around to the other customers that had been in that room. "That's poor customer service" is all I heard both of them say. Well their customer service towards me has cost Palm Beach Tan my membership. There are other tanning facilities in Texas and I will GLADLY take my money elsewhere. "Oh you're not in our region, otherwise I could offer you free tans. You should talk to your region about this, I'm sure they'll give you free tans" - I don't want FREE TANS, I want my item that you probably stole from me! I returned to the salon to check the room myself. Both the woman and the man became extremely defensive stating they left the room dirty (following a different customer, I assume) so I could check. I did so. I told them that I would have to file a police report on the stolen item, which I did. Remember that dummy profile? She printed out a consent that I "supposedly" signed which didn't have MY signature on it, which made her argument invalid. She also said that I was a member since 2012, when in fact I joined last month. She was making all these accusations and she didn't even have the facts straight. She also had no way of getting any of my information off this dummy profile and wouldn't have even been able to call me had she found the item. The woman also told her regional and store manager facts about the item that I did not tell her. To top it off, a Versa Spa customer came in while I was there and the room was still dirty, the man said "Sorry, we've been having to deal with an issue, it'll be a minute" and I apologized ingeniously about being his "issue". He then shot back that that isn't what he said. Which it CLEARLY was what he said. These two people basically stated that I was crazy because I must have taken the item with me - I searched HIGH AND LOW in my purse, car, home. I did not have it - therefore I left it. I contacted my PBT that I frequent in my city. They were so genuine in their apology and offered me the customer service line that serves Austin and my city - something that neither the man nor woman offered me. I told them I would have to cancel my membership to save up for the item new as it has a lot of sentimental value to me. The woman at my PBT that I spoke to on the phone was so nice and helpful - unlike ANYONE at the Austin store. read more

I use this tanning location because it's one of the only Palm Beaches in the area with the Versa Pro. Every time I go in there is someone new working that always seems frazzled and doesn't know how to work things. I'm there for about 25 plus minutes every single time because I can't tan with out getting a 10-15 min sales pitch about why I need to be using these $120 lotions and primers when I tan. I've bought hundreds of dollars worth or products from there and they tell me why what I bought isn't good and I should be using another product instead. Bottom line its VERY annoying and the girls are VERY unfriendly. Do not use this location unless you have plenty of extra time on your hands. read more

I have been going to this location for over 7 years and have nothing but good things to say about the exceptional service I get every time I go in! I have had times were I wanted to go on stand-by and was a couple days too late but they credited back my account no hassle! I have been on stand-by for the past two years (I wish I had the time to go regularly) and the staff always still give me the benefits of the free ad ons! Its so nice to go into a business and have the staff so friendly and treat you as if they have known you your whole life! Today I went in for a Mystic at about 10:30pm and even though they close at 11pm I did not feel rushed at all and even had a nice chat! The machines are always sooo clean. Having started going here when I was 14 it is nice to be respected and not overlooked. Seven years later and I still love coming here as often as I can! Thank you to the staff at Palm Beach Tan for your commitment to customer service! Especially its newest staff member Lindsay for all your help tonight and being so cool and helpful! What a great tanning salon that after being there only one month a new staff member has so much pride in working hard to make customers happy! Kudos to Palm Beach Tan! read more

Tanning Experience was fine. However the headache I had with them having access to my credit card was a nightmare. I went in telling them I only needed to tan for a few months because I was heading out the country. Used it for 2 months, I was plenty tan so went in to cancel a few days before the 25th (the date you have to cancel by before it renews). The girl working said I should put it on hold because I could have it on hold forever and wouldn't have to pay the membership fee if I ever wanted to come back. i asked 3 times," is there a fee to do so? I am travelling and can't to pay a fee." No fee, she said, "we have customers who put it on hold for years". okay. And sure enough, 8.25 fee per month that goes back as tan credits. unacceptable. (Also I spoke to a manager at another location here in Austin and she was able to see who put it on hold, wasn't surprised to see it was someone who had been with the company for awhile because the girls get commission for getting someone to not cancel and hold. ) I phoned the store, was supposed to get a call back from the manager Lindsay and didn't. So i called the next day, spoke with her directly and she said she would cancel and refund. She refunded, but another charge next month. She never cancelled. The girl who pulled it up saw the refund but still active. Couldn't get the "customer care line" to call me back and again got the manager Lindsay who said she can't cancel, then said she cancelled because I was angry... I got so fed up I called my credit card for a stop payment and went to another location to sign the cancellation papers and found out the Braker location has had multiple issues with the manager Lindsay. Finally got my refund and cancelled, but took 2 months. Do not sign up for any reoccurring memberships for them and highly advise to try a different location. read more

I have been tanning at Palm Beach Tan for about a year now and have got to say I'm less than pleased with the majority of the staff at this particular location that I've been going to recently now that I have moved. There is one girl with shoulder length brown hair that has been there a long time that is always especially friendly and helpful, however her teammates are rather less than pleasant and seem to hate their jobs. Overall, the "product" is good because I feel like I get good color here for a valued price, however if I continue to have to deal with service people who seem less than pleased to have customers walking through the door, and act even more unpleasant if you have any questions other than buying lotion, I will unfortunately be taking my business elsewhere. It's too bad because the one girl there is awesome and if they could find more like her it'd be a great place! **I will do my best to learn her name on my next visit so I can give her proper kuddos for doing a great job. read more

If I could choose less than 1 start I would. Palm beach tan wants your money not your loyalty. Everything is about making a sale. Did I mention some of the lotions the girls try to sell you cost as much as $160? I'm all about paying for quality but if I bought $150 worth of lotion 3 weeks ago why is the lotion she showed me today suddenly better than what I have? Which was "the best thing on the shelf" 3 weeks ago? Started to think it was this store that had the pushy (bad) salesman and then I tanned at the one on campus and my experience was worse. Does this company not understand there's more to running a business than making a sale? I thought about cancelling and trying out Darque tan because at the end of the day when I am tired and ready to be off my feet the last thing I want is for a 17 year old girl at a tanning salon to beg me to buy lotion so she doesn't lose her job. What a rip off this place is. You'd think with all the lotion they probably sell that they'd actually fix the machines every once in a while. Every time I go in to tan something is "broken". Really I pay $95 a month for it to be broken? Yikes. The customer service rep for austin is pleasant but avoid Jacks at all costs. Take your money somewhere else. read more

Everything was going pretty smooth with Palm Beach except for the fact that beds were always having problems or being "fixed" so I always had to wait to use lower level beds. Since it is so expensive to have the best membership here, I could not continue to pay $95 a month for a membership, so I went into the Braker location and canceled my membership, I signed on there electronic scanner to close it out. The next month it was never drafted from my acct so I assumed everything went as planned, well this month rolled along and I checked my acct and it was drafted the $95. I called the Braker location and they informed me that my acct was never closed, I am furious, The manager, informed me the reason that they had never drafted last month was because there wasn't funds to pull from, which there was, so that didn't make sense and then she said she would waive the balance I owed last month, which made me feel a little better but regardless, I should have never owed any money to begin with, she then informed me that she could not refund this months drafting but could offer me another month of free tanning, this made the situation a little bit less worse but I am still in the hole $95 for something that was not my fault at all! I know I am not the first person that they have pulled this whole scheme with. After this next month free, I will NEVER return to palm beach and recommend no one does. read more
