I honestly do not know how Allison or Ashley still have jobs with this company. They are the rudest, disrespectful people I have ever met in a customer service environment. Horrible women behind counter extremely rude, went against policy to assert her own control, seemed to get a kick out of it and upon reading other reviews seems like her attitude is a common complaint. I've been a member here for years and I am tired of the never ending drama that surrounds this store! I pay for the highest package, I don't like paying for crappy, eye rolling bad attitudes. I simply want to tan in peace and quiet, leave the drama at the door. Stop hiring friends and hire people who need and want to work. Here is my Palm Beach Experience. I signed up for one month and explained I had my daughter's wedding coming up and being a redhead I wasn't sure I could tan and I definitely didn't want to burn . I was assured they would take it slow and I needed to get the spray tan and beds unlimited plus lotion for my face and A tanning Excelerator lotion. I paid cash for everything. First visit great , second visit great and getting color, third visit bed only and was moved up to 7 minutes. I felt myself burning and stopped it , too late , I had 4 miserable days!! I waited 2 extra days to go back. So 7 days I lost. I showed them my burn and asked to do Spray tan and they said they couldn't, then said they could. It was nothing like the first spray tan , I was blotchy. I called and was told they used a different formula, I had to wait, exfoliate and try again well the spray tan was down so in a bed I go , I go back today and what do you know, no spray tan available, neither are working!! I ended up in a bed for 4 minutes, I expressed again I didn't want to burn. Well it's almost the end of the month and my membership is almost over and the wedding around the corner and I've wasted half of my time due to equipment not working and not being heard about how easily I burn . Waste of money. Waste of time. Absolutely do not recommend!! read more

I've been going to this location for a few years. It's the most convenient. That's the positive. Used to be the sweetest girl working there who at least greeted you when you walked in. I now feel like customers are an inconvenience. They will stand behind the counter and talk to each other, do whatever, acknowledge you when they feel like it. Definitely the absolute worst customer (non)service experience. Every time. Certainly since 2020 and change of management/ownership. Tanning beds are tanning beds. read more

In June, I quit palm beach tan after a few months as a member. I had used this salon under ultra tan ownership for 12 years which was great. Even though the price was higher with palm beach, i planned to make this my new home salon because I liked the location, beds, and staff was always friendly. Unfortunately, the some of the staff with palm beach were rude. I wish I could remember the name of this tall big-boned young woman who I had to deal with often. She made it clear to me that Palm Beach tanning didn't value my business as a customer paying $89 per month. i will say she was really happy and thanked me when I said I wanted to cancel my membership. I guess I'll go to Exotic Tan down the road. It is not as conveniently located, but worth it to not have to deal with that rude person. read more

My husband and I wanted to prepare for our vacation to avoid getting burned so we wanted to get a base tan. We paid for a flex package which was to last 365 days and then paid for sunbed tanning for 1 month on 12/6/22. I went in today expecting to tan today and then last tomorrow to end my 1 month since we were told it would last until 1/6/23. Today I was told my 1 month already expired (on 1/5/23)-this could not be the case I explained since they told me it would expire on 1/6/23. To top it off, I was also told the flex package had expired so in order to tan again, I would not only have to pay to tan today but pay again for the flex package-yet another $25. This is absolutely absurd. None of this was disclosed to me at the beginning-a month package does not mean a month. This is bad business and I do not recommend Palm Beach Tan at all. Palm Beach Tan Sucks!!!!! it is RIDICULOUS to make you wait 24 hours PLUS 1 minute before you can tan the next day!!!! There should be some kind of adjustments to this rule!!!! People do work and have a life!!! They should be more concerned about these junk beds they have! The buttons to adjust the face tanners, fans etc either don't work or are missing!!!! the 60ish yr old lady that works here is SO rude. she didnt tell me what to do when i got to my room and acted put off that i wasnt in the system yet. it was my first time and i was very confused and she just made it worse. i wanted a somewhat dark tan and she argued with me about it. i will take my money elsewhere thank you. read more

I used to go to the Ultratan before it changed to Palm beach. I had the silver package and it was $35/month. When Ultratan took over, they raised the prices and level of the beds so I had to buy the gold membership to get the same beds but it was almost twice as much. So I decided to go with the $15/month package. When I first started with this package, I was able to pick from 4 beds: 2 stand ups or 2 lay downs. About 2 weeks ago, when I tried to use the stand up bed, I was told those beds are no longer included in that package. Apparently corporate performed an audit at this location and said this was a mistake that they didn't catch for 6 months... This was very frustrating because I had already canceled my membership and wasn't able to use the stand up beds for the remainder of my time. I usually cancel for the winter and restart my membership in the spring but I will not be going back to this scam of a place. They raised prices even higher on all the packages so looks like I will be finding somewhere else to go from now on. I hate that I have to cancel because the associates working there are wonderful. None of this was their fault and they did what they could to help me. read more

This place is a rip off. ALL they care about is upselling you and taking your money. I said I would only be in town two weekends and wanted to tan 4 times and she tried to sell me a $70 a month package- not to mention there's an additional $19.95 "membership fee". Make sure you bring eye goggles because they won't let you tan until you show them the goggles- if you don't have them that's an additional $5 you will be spending. Also, she sold me sample lotion for $2 a pack, not bad, but then she told me I needed two packs for one tan. Anything to add on that extra dollar. I tanned in level 3 for 6 minutes (her suggestion) and I didn't get a drop of color. I told her it wasn't enough but she insisted. I'm assuming she just wanted me to waste a visit so I would have to purchase more. This place is a rip off and they don't have the customer's best interest in mind. All they care about is selling you the most expensive stuff. I would not recommend going here at all. read more

The new manager at this location is AMAZING! Not only did he know his stuff but also educated me on the beds, lotions, after tanning care, and the science behind tanning. Definitely a step up from the other employees I have dealt with in the past and he seems to be there open to close every day. No matter what day or time I go there, I am always greeted with a smile by him. The store is very clean and the wait is not long at all. read more

I've been going to this place for spray tans for over 2 years. The staff is always pleasant and very accommodating. However there is always a long wait for beds or spray tans. Their are never enough staff members helping. The spray tan booth is always broken leaving only one to use. With this being high volume area it's very annoying. I will travel to another ultra tan to spray and then that booth is also on a wait due to lack of staff or broken equipment. For the price we pay a month it's very disappointing. read more

Great beds there, clean, and bright bulbs...they do really pressure you to buy their tanning products though.

I went to this location for the first time. There were two older ladies working. One was talking on the phone for quite some time while the other was trying to up sell lotion to a guest and going on and on talking . They seemed rather oblivious to the people waiting to be served. They even skipped over guests on the list including myself. I don't really see the point of signing in when they don't look at it. I waited at least 10 mins to even be greeted by someone and their beds weren't even full. They acted kinda rude and I don't think I will ever go back to this location. The other stores are much more friendly and attentive. Maybe they need more people working so guests don't have to wait so long to be greeted. I didn't feel welcome there at all. read more

The lady who I assume is a manager who is usually working is really nice. Of course there are a lot of high school kids hired for prom season, which I hate because they generally do not know what they are doing or are not friendly. The beds here are always clean and nice. Much better than certain other Ultra Tan locations, ie. E North Street, Simpsonville. read more

I have never been more frustrated with the customer service before. Beware if you need to freeze or cancel your account because they will still charge you for another month! Only went a few times because of concerns with cleanliness and constant upwelling but was charged for months!! I do not recommend. read more
