Christa Hearin, "manager" at the Cottage Hill and Schillingers Location of Palm Beach Tan, needs training in best practices, professionalism, customer service, safety and human interaction. Due to my horrific experience 12/10/2023, I have filed a report with the Better Business Bureau and filed a complained with the corporate office. The corporate office was very interested in learning and investigating my experience and had noted frequent secret shoppers have reported similar unfavorable experiences. The manager continues to have abysmal work performance reviews, high staff turnover; bottom of the barrel in all store competitions, and exhibited amoral behavior inside the store aftehours. The exact details of my experience include the following: -Refused service despite my paying a tanning membership/account in good standing -Being left 14 minutes in the front lobby as the flighty, irresponsible worker stepped out to "call her manager" when she could not work the computer; she only returned when I walked out and she heard the bell ring indicating the door opened. -When she reappeared I walked back in and she said she was unable to get in touch with the manager. Then suddenly when I asked why she kept me waiting she was able to get the manager on the phone. -When I discussed the unprofessional behavior, she informed me the manager said I cannot tan there. -I told the manager it was unsafe to have an unattended front off over 14 minutes because anyone could walk in off the street and disturb the naked people tanning or steal. -The manager told me "DO NOT tell me how to do my job!" and to "Get the fuck out of my store!" I have this recorded. I have a feeling Christa will not be in this position much longer. Good riddance. read more

This location has gone down hill. New staff is not cutting it. Also It is not acceptable to have the amount of bulb and bed problems. Today, half the bulbs in 2 were not working. Bed 10 don't work sometimes. It's got to the point when you get into a bed, you wonder if it will come on. I pay to much money to keep dealing with this. Maintain your beds and train your staff please. read more

BEWARE!! Terrible business people, they don't accommodate you, what so ever! I wouldn't waste my money here. The sprays smell so bad (like chemicals) even if you upgrade to the so called scents. I spent a $100 bucks at this location. I left with a nasty spray that I hated. I went straight home to wash it all off because of the residue it left on my skin. Also had some nasty taste in my mouth for days!!! Totally disgusting spray. So I told the front desk, before I left, I was not happy with this service. She had informed me "Someone" would contact me about that. NO ONE called me. I called the very next day & spoke to some little manager that wasn't helpful. I was told there is no manager on duty my first visit. They just hire young people to try & sell you some upgrades So the owners were just as BAD! The owners called me days later, to tell me , she REFUSED to give me my money back. Don't do bussiness here. Save your money!! I'm sure this place will go under soon treating their customers like trash. I've never had a place like this to be so awful & expensive. They say the spray last a couple of days if that. Do your research. I'll get my sunshine outside for free lol At least I can enjoy the vitamin D without that spray blocking it from me. read more

Palm Beach Tan on Cottage Hill is one of a few locations of this national chain. By now, we all know that improper exposure to the sun/UV rays will at the very least age your skin has proven to to lead to skin cancer...... but there are indoor tanning options that are indeed a safe alternative to laying out in the sun..... Palm Beach offers the very best, high end equipment and products that will allow you to gain and maintain your tan at the level that you desire. Forget trying to "save money" going to a nail salon that also has a random tanning bed in the back, you might as well risk being outside at noon in July on the beach with baby oil. Palm Beach will assess your skin type, the type of tan you desire, whether it is for a special occasion or for maintenance, etc. and you can select packages or single sessions in everything from high pressured beds to the best spray tanning booth I have ever used (dare I say better than most of the individual airbrush tanning sessions that I have paid 2-3times more). The pricing is extremely fair but can be shocking if this is the first tanning salon that truly has the absolute newest equipment and products (there are a few tanning dedicated salons in Mobile that claim to have modern equipment but it hasn't changed in 5-7 years and simply will not give you the results- but remain pricey). In reality, I skipped a decade of tanning until 2001 when preparing to go to Brazil and paid the same prices in Atlanta.......10 years ago.....But, I recommend that you go to www.PalmBeachTan.com and sign up for the email newsletter that will send you specials that are really great and can save you quite a bit of money. For me, from completely pale, I spend 15 minutes in the high pressured bed (where the fans actually keep you cool) followed by a 5 minute session in the spray tanning booth using the medium color and I am out the door in 30 minutes or less. The following day, I repeat the process if I want to look end of spring break tan or do one of the procedures for a very natural dark tan...... and as I am always needing a 48 hour solution this is a perfect remedy that will naturally fade over 4 to 5 days. This place is fabulous. Staff is very helpful and knowledgeable of products, and equipment! Equipment is amazing. The beds are wonderful, and spray tan booth actually bronzes you no streaking or orangeness. Definitely recommend!! read more

I went to get a tan and the staff were extremely rude. They seemed more concerned about towing customers that parked to go to the Bier Garten than actually talking to their customers. I just walked out and left. Completely unprofessional. read more
