Dr. Gary Shahbazian was recommended to me by another Westie lover who happened to jog by me one night while I was walking my dogs. I'm so glad she did! One of my dogs was dying, having a very advanced/severe disease that ultimately killed him. What was stellar at Palm Bluffs was Dr. Shahbazian's constant help, calls and communication. When I arrived, a team the size of a MASH unit descended upon my little dog in distress giving him everything possible to make him comfortable. Dr. Murphy was a Godsend as well and helped Dr. S along the way. Dr. Shahbazian was available to me at a moment's notice. I don't know about you, but when you need help and go to most doctors, good luck trying to get anyone ever to call you back. Not Dr. Shahbazian, he checked in on us at every opportunity. Through no fault of Dr. S or his team, my dog died. I wasn't sure what to do with his body for cremation, so I called Dr. S who took time out of his personal day to meet me on a Sunday just to take my dog's body for me. I would recommend Bluff veterinarian service without reservation. We have five dogs different breeds, two cats, presently, but in the past have had fish, hamsters, rats and more and are picky about whom we trust their lives to, which really is their daily care with your veterinarian. Many our animals are rescues so they all come with their own unique problems. Dr Gary is Well educated, intuitive, very experienced, conservative, but can be aggressivewith needed, he is honest, personable and truly cares and loves animals as if they are his own. Everyone in that office is a team and an amazing highly qualified one at that! Dr, Gary has extended one of our pups lives by 6 years finding and taking out a cancer that was extremely difficult to get to and even more frightening that was aggressive we came in for a yearly exam, always in depth! he found the smallest bump but his knowledge of where how it felt was extremely accurate. He and his surgical staff were acutely careful to get all of the cancer removed from a tricky location. Dr. Gary never makes a fly by night decision always researching and up to date, cautious, to understand the full picture, and carefully thought out. He will give you a full explanation of what is going on with your pet with the deepest respect to both Understanding both the pet and the owner He is conservative doesn't jump into expensive blood tests or surgery's unless absolutely needed. It is not unlike Dr Gary to give you a call a couple times during the week to see if an ill dog is responding to treatment. I probably shouldn't share this, but I've even known him to come in on his Sunday afternoon to see the Pet so that he could analyze in person all that was going on. Most vets would send you to the ER if there was a problem at night or on a weekend. An ER would do expensive bloodwork, they don't know your pets medical history. Dr Gary resolve the problem right away and the pup was back to himself in no time at all. It is without reservation i give my trust to palm bluff veterinarian services, the whole office from staff, to his associate doctor, his surgical team and especially to Dr Gary. read more

One doctor will say one thing the other doctor will say another. it comes down to money they try to do very expensive procedures, and when they questioned it, they'll give a cheaper option. read more

Very unhappy with Dr Shahbazian for several reasons. First, he left the roots of two of my dog's teeth in her jaw during a dental surgery. I found this out the next year when I took her to a competent veterinarian the following year. Second, he wanted to charge us over $1000 to remove a cyst. When we sought a second opinion from a competent vet, my dog only needed a fine needle aspiration which cost us less than $100. In addition, Dr Gary Shahbazian allows unvaccinated employees to go without masks during this pandemic when masks are now MANDATED by the state. He is careless. Thank God that we found a competent veterinarian who didn't price gouge us. read more

We have a new hero! After bringing many dogs here and buying lots of dog food as well as medication for close to 20 years, we were told that Dr Gary would not see us if we hadn't seen him in the last year. The once friendly, accommodating, and understanding staff has 90% been replaced by the same kind of people you see everywhere now. It feels like they don't really want to work, they're just doing any job to get money, and they're struggling to even do their jobs, so we're just in the way. That's everywhere now, so can't blame this practice. Even the staff from the old days here gets stressed and drops their customer service skills periodically. We have a dog with some challenges. Dr Murphy (whom we hadn't seen before) was amazing. She got to know our crazy dog and met him on his level. She examined him more thoroughly than any of his last two vets have and we walked out with everything he needed and more. We cannot say enough good things about Dr Murphy. We are very pleased! Very inconsiderate with my niece (white kitten luna) they did not give us medical record papers regarding her procedure and did not even give her a cone to prevent her from licking the site. The receptionist was very rude containing Luna's medical history with ring worms (we asked to be shown where) and she didn't even want to touch her; I know ring worms can be contagious but at least put on gloves and show concerned pet parents especially when you work for a veterinary clinic. Very helpful coworker came along and said she wouldn't mind showing us where the ring worms are. Luna is in questionable shape right now and if things don't end well with her, we'll know it's most likely mistreatment from this clinic. Don't bother with this place. read more

I had a lot of friends that swore this place had the best customer service but the receptionist was the worst. I was constantly interrupted and talked down to. The whole time she was ready to move on to other clients. When I got tired of her attitude I tried to talk to someone else and I was sent back to the original receptionist. Dr. Gary has been our veterinarian for a dozen years at least. He is straight-forward, honest and you can tell he loves the animals he takes care of. His prices are fair and he only tells you about the procedures he feels are necessary. Today ended with the reality that my best friend needed to be euthanized. Dr. Gary gave us alone time to say goodbye and then made my Oakley's passing as gentle, painless and dignified as it could be. I just want to thank the staff member/vet tech that cared for my beloved family dog of 17 yrs. It was 7am on a Sunday morning and I had made the most difficult decision to end my dying girl's suffering. We were greeted with such care and compassion. The entire place was clean and spotless. I held her in my arms and the vet tech was so gentle with her during the entire process. She gave me all the time I needed with her (I was a wreck with all my crying). They also offer Paws of Remembrance, which only takes a few minutes, and was a comfort to take home since I wouldn't be bringing her back home. Used to be a great vet in 18-19 now since they got a new receptionist things have gone to mud. The customer service with these woman is horrendous their tone and attitude puts you into a world of shock.
