I got to experience this through a company event, and it was 1000% everything I dreamed it would be. I had a mix of emotions but loved every single moment! The instructors were super cool, thorough, and made me feel completely safe and confident throughout the experience. The cars were top-notch and so much fun to race on the track - I would totally recommend this for special events or just to treat yourself to an unforgettable experience. I'm telling you, the adrenaline and rush from these babies on the track made me want to buy a BMW right then and there! This is the perfect experience for any race car lover, fast driver, or anyone who's into cars. The grand finale was awesome too - they show you all your times and who was the fastest in the group. I'd recommend it for anyone south of an intermediate level track driver. For these folks, more advanced courses are available, and I have full faith they'd be excellent as well. Itinerary: -1h classroom safety/racing fundamentals (lots of good info for the road, too) -Emergency mid-corner braking from highway speeds--M4 xdrive -Last-minute lane change, followed by emergency braking, from highway speeds--M2 -Skidpad (controlled initiation and recovery of oversteer/drifting)--M5 sedan -Lead/follow track laps at The Thermal Club raceway (real race track, adjacent to BMW's lower-speed "training oriented" facility) -Lunch (really a highlight. 2 salads, chicken breast, homemade meatballs. We got 3 races plus the bronze license which was about $200 per person in total. With this we got gloves and a head wrap thing to keep and you can use their helmets and jumpsuits. We were under the impression you had to wear long sleeves and pants period. BUT turns out you can either wear the long clothes (and just race like that) OR you can have short stuff on and use a jumpsuit. Thank you to the really nice patron that told us that! It is soooo hot out there and a jumpsuit over long clothes was suffocating and unbearable. We went on a Wednesday around 1130am for races starting at noon and had no real issues . All the employees were super nice and didn't give any attitude. The races were about 15-20 minutes apart. We called days ahead and were told weekends were their busiest days and you would likely be waiting over an hour in between races . No thanks. It looked very new and legit , like they hold actual racing tournaments there (I'm sure they do but we didn't ask). Very clean and the tater tots were delicioussss. We got all the information we needed at the very beginning. If anyone is like me , big doses of information go in one ear and out the other . With that being said I wish it was more beginner friendly. We were given all the information and were sent on our way. We didn't really know where to go, just kinda figured it out . Most of the help we got was from the very friendly patron mention above. Just little questions we had like "can we take our water bottle with us" or "can we leave our stuff out here?" ALSO , I am 5'9. My man is 6'3. Those carts are not meant for tall folks lol . The first race I kept getting cramps in my calf. By race 2 I was slightly more comfortable. Race 3 I didn't really notice as much anymore but just know, it is definitely and adjustment. All and all, really amazing experience. I'll give it a 4 because although the employees were nice and answered questions when we saw them, I wish we had like someone to guide us through it all being that it was our first time. At least for the first race. We will likely come back being that the license lasts a year but thank you guys for the awesome experience!

However,karts there are terribly maintained,there are only 2 fast karts in a whole row of over 15,you do not get to choose your karts,you get assigned to them.A huge issue with the karts are the seats,the karts are so recked that the seats are sideways,they are not facing the steering wheel,they are like 5-20 degrees off the right or left side.(Only like 2 karts don't have this issue)top speed of the karts are quite high,however the pick up is extremely extremely slow on most of the karts(one of the good kart is no.43) The track is quite wide,wide enough to make mistakes.However i heard they change their track often so if i remember the name right the name of the track i raced was north smth.It was a little too short but good corners.

My only complaint for Spartan is they didn't have more places for shade because it got pretty toasty at 80 degrees. Otherwise, it was a great location and a great set up for a race! We actually left before the race was even over, yet it still took us nearly four hours just to get out of the parking lot. During that entire time, I only saw one person directing traffic. For an event drawing this many people, there clearly needs to be a better plan for parking lot management and exit flow. The parking lot itself became a chaotic, jam-packed standstill. What was even more concerning was the number of kids and young people I witnessed openly snorting what appeared to be cocaine while everyone was stuck waiting to leave. Seeing that kind of behavior taking place so openly was shocking and created an uncomfortable atmosphere for families and other spectators. The racing may have been good, but the lack of traffic management and the concerning behavior I observed in the parking areas made this a disappointing experience overall. Significant improvements are needed before I would consider attending another event here.

I got to the track early and was helped by the kindest young man on the 1st floor of the clubhouse named Michael, who showed me how to bet on these new gambling machines. He suggested to me to bet exacta and trifecta bets so I would not have to bet big but I could win big payouts. He was right, he told me who he liked and I won 2 races! But I watched the guys on the tv before the races and I began to think, Michael should be on that broadcast. Total shining star! Show this to Del Mar Thoroughbred Club Public relations because Michael is so charming and people would go crazy for him. Tall Dark and handsome. Plus he is so good at choosing horses and would be such an asset to the racing telecast.

They consider giving us 19$ and they immediately change their minds and make up the most BS excuses. Terrible maintenance, rude service, exspensive, and not worth it! Don't come here. Btw I'm 11 writing this review not an adult so think about the next time you consider about going to boomers. If an 11 year old is writing a bad review then you must no ITS BAD! Admission is only $30, and they just require that you wear proper attire--but there are no equipment checks like at other race tracks. You can even camp there over night. I've been to the balcony and prefer Grange for it's technical turns which is perfect for underpowered cars to monsters hp cars. The owner, Jim, is very nice and delivers pizzas for $15 a pie. There are many car clubs that host events in particular SlideFactoryInc (www.slidefactory.org). Overall the venue is a fun, safe, and great for drifting.

There's a place to store the trailer/motor home. There is an entrance fee. Lots of various track due to it being in the middle of no where. Showers are pretty awesome. Well maintained. 3 bathroom stalls, one is always out of order. 2 shower stalls, love. The. Water. Pressure. !!!!! So good. Has 15 minutes light and vent timer. Track waters down the whole bathroom after an event. Always have hand sanitizer and soap and paper towel. They just installed some new power outlets, but very few. Haven't used it yet, as I run off the motor home. Gas station available lowest being 91. Garages in the back but I believe they are all taken/sold out. Track owner pretty cool. Usually lunch from 12-1 on an event where if you're a member of the track you can ride unrestricted. Epic! Track itself goes counter clockwise and clockwise. Will be coming back each winter Oh! 4 stars because it's in the middle of the desert and I can't find permanent reference points so it's annoying... Recently re paved but chunks are coming up :( be careful!
