It is a fact of life that no matter how hard one tries there will always be someone left unhappy or unsatisfied. In other words, it's just not humanly possible to please everyone, especially some naturally unhappy people. Having said that, let me share my feedback about this establishment i.e. Plam Tree School, Fairfax VA:  I have a unique vantage point to comment on this as I have been closely observing and interacting with the group that is running this school long before its inception in 2013.  In my personal (direct and indirect) experience, I have always found the people in charge very honorable, professional and totally committed to the cause of giving back to the society. I have several of my nieces and nephews that attend this school in different grades. Starting from the main office to the faculty and all the way the security staff, I can report this with confidence that I hear nothing but high praises from the students and the parents alike. The teachers go above and beyond to give each student total attention as per their individual needs. Often you'll see the teachers staying after school to spend extra time with the kids as needed. As a result, you not only witness the academic achievements but you can also clearly see the fruit of their labor when you see very well rounded and well-behaved kids, especially the teenagers. The contrast in mannerism that you see between these kids and the kids who attend public schools is mind blowing. As far as I am concern, only this single attribute on its own ​should be good enough reason for anyone to leave their kids in their trustworthy hands.  I am so impressed and inspired by the great people who are doing this unthankful task that I can keep on writing but in the interest of time, I'll close with this statement.  Palm Tree School, keep up the good work. I would like to begin by saying Masha'Allah TabarakAllah. This school has shaped my two boys into being well mannered kids Masha'Allah. My eldest son started in Kg and by the end of the year he was reading at a 1st grade level Masha'Allah. Not only reading but writing and spelling. He was able to write sentences on his own mid year bismusallah Masha'Allah. His math was ahead and he had almost finished Juz Amma. They did an Islamic studies play that highlighted what each grade learned and it was so beautifully organized. The amount of Hadeeth learned and having the students memorize the 99 names of Allah within a year is such a blessing Masha'Allah. My son always comes home excited to do his HW and excited to show me what he learned. My second child is now in KG and thinking that he may be different academically than his brother, I was surprised by how fast and quick he is learning Masha'Allah. He like his brother is excited to teach me his Arabic letters and reading both Arabic words and English words Masha'Allah. Over the winterbreak, when my first grader would do Quran, I noticed that he was reading from the Juz himself Masha'Allah. I was very pleased and surprised to see his Arabic level and knowing how to read his harakaat from the Quran Masha'Allah. I truly grateful for enrolling my boys at Palm Tree School, as it has been such a blessing for our family. The school does an amazing job not only academically in both secular and Islamic subjects, but also in nurturing strong character and values. They teach the children important lessons about not bullying, how to behave as Muslim children, and even proper manners and etiquette when eating, all in a fun and engaging environment, Masha'Allah! I also really appreciate the special seminars the school holds, such as anti- bullying workshops, and Islamic programs for Ramadan and Eid, which help reinforce these teachings in a meaningful and practical way. I enrolled my children at Palm Tree School two years ago, and from the very beginning, our experience has been nothing short of wonderful, masha'Allah. Finding a school that nurtures both my children's academic growth and their Islamic values was extremely important to me, and Palm Tree School has truly exceeded my expectations in both areas. The teachers show genuine love and care for the children, treating them as if they were their own. They are patient, compassionate, and attentive to each child's individual needs, which gives me so much peace of mind as a parent. Alhamdulillah, my children come home happy and confident, and they actually enjoy completing their homework. Seeing them work independently without needing help from me has been such a blessing and a clear reflection of the strong foundation they are being given at school. I went to this school from a few years, and it really changed me. On the good side, I loved how we connected with the Quran and started memorizing it early. But when it came to academics, it felt like it was all about memorizing and repeating, not actually understanding or thinking critically. The teachers are some good and some not so, this situation resonated with me. I was once accused of something I wasn't involved in, and it became a traumatic experience that affected my mental health for a long time. I was interrogated about something I had no knowledge of, pressured to admit to something I didn't even understand, and made to feel guilty for something I didn't do. The emotional toll this took on me was huge. Even after the situation was resolved, a teacher continued to imply that I "deserved" the treatment I received. While I was there, the school environment felt more about fear than safety. There wasn't much room to express problems freely, and the atmosphere was isolating, especially since the class was so small. The academic focus was heavy on memorization, but without much critical thinking or deeper learning. I think that lack of a supportive environment, both academically and emotionally, made things harder than they needed to be. I share this experience not to attack anyone, but because I believe the school needs to reflect on how it handles its students, particularly in moments of conflict or misunderstanding. I have been in this school for almost a decade and have nothing but positive things to say. Firstly, Palm Tree School is filled with caring and supportive staff who are always available to lend a hand. I have never experienced anything except compassion and kindness from all the teachers. In addition to this, the teachers are very knowledgeable and teach multiple advanced AP classes, which as expected may be tough, but with the help and support of the teachers it has become easy for me. This immense amount of support is something that I truly appreciate at Palm Tree School. Another point that is very notable is the way in which manners and respect are taken in Palm Tree School. This respectful environment allows for the students to thrive and learn in such a positive and peaceful environment. Throughout the years in this school I have been taught the value of mannerism, and have been told by my teachers about the hadith of the Prophet Mohammed, peace be upon him. Said: (The dearest and the closest of you to me on the Day of Resurrection will be those who are the best in behaviour.) Teaching me the true value of mannerism. In the end, after all these years, I've never heard a real complaint about Palm Tree School. My child started at Palm Tree School in 9th grade, and the experience has been truly amazing. Previously, he had an IEP in public school, but since attending Palm Tree School he has improved so much that he no longer needs one. We've seen tremendous growth in all the core subjects (english , science, math, and history). I can't believe he is now preparing for AP courses. One of the most incredible changes has been in Arabic and Islamic studies. He started the year not knowing any Arabic, and now he is able to read and write it. He has also memorized more Quran, which means a lot to our family. What I appreciate most about the school is that they focus not only on academics but also on character and manners. That kind of environment is very important to us as parents. One of my biggest concerns about public school was bullying, but that has not been an issue at Palm Tree School. My child feels safe, supported, and genuinely enjoys going to school every day. I also really appreciate the Ramadan hours. Let me start by saying if I can give this more than five stars I truly would. As a senior at Palm Tree School, I'm really grateful for the opportunities I've had here. The AP classes especially helped me tremendously. They challenged me academically, helped me build strong study habits, and really prepared me for the level of work I'll experience in college. The teachers in those classes were always willing to help and pushed us to do our best. I cannot thank them enough. Because of that support and preparation, I was accepted into several universities and even received scholarships, which I'm incredibly thankful for. Another thing that made a big difference during my time here was the support from the counseling office. My counselor not only helped guide me through the college application process, but also supported me with my mental health during some stressful times in high school. Having someone at school who genuinely cared and listened meant a lot. Again I cannot thank the teachers and staff enough. I'm a revert and had been looking for a school for my daughter. I had sent her to other private schools, but sadly I did not see a positive change in her. So when she started attending Palm Tree School, I was able to see the difference. You do not need to take my word for, go there and you'll understand what I mean. She is, by Allah's grace, praying regularly, practicing her religion in the manner it should, and has been a positive influence on me as well. This school is great for those who want their children to get an Islamic education. They are dedicated and passionate about the school and its students. During my time there, I gained a lot of valuable knowledge not just in Islamic studies and Qur'an, but education as a whole. The staff do their best to set up the students for a successful college path, with things like extracurricular competitions and activities that universities look for in applications. I cannot truly recommend Palm Tree School enough. I have been amazed by the quality students I have seen and the amazing teachers. The students have great manners, from what I know of the curriculum it's clear religious knowledge is number one and the secular studies is also a priority, and the school makes sure the kids can also have fun. My kids have been in the school for the past three years and I could not be more impressed with the curriculum in the staff. My kids have flourished and learned how to read and write Arabic and English. Their accents in Arabic are actually very good as well as they put a great emphasis on pronunciation. I saw the teachers with my own eyes mistreating kids as young as 5, maybe 4. They would readjust the kids several times to force them to listen to a sermon that was over 1 hour long. I did not see kindness or care. I saw cruelty and a lack of sensitivity to the needs of small children. read more
