Palmers is a family run farm that plants their trees in well defined rows in mostly level fields. Palmers shapes their trees so that they have the classic look that you want. They grow a large selection of trees so there is something for everyone. The staff can direct you to the area that has the tree type and size that you're looking for, making it easy to find some good choices. Palmers supplies the saw, and there are some tree carts available to help you move your tree to the tree binding machine. I recommend that you bring a tape measure, ribbon to mark trees that you are deciding between, warm work gloves, and a canvas painting tarp to help you carry your tree (rather than dragging it on the ground, in case you can't find a tree cart). I bring ratchet tie-downs to strap the tree to the roof rack on our van, but Palmers supplies vinyl twine for you. After years at another tree farm we decided to give Palmers a look last year. We found that their trees are better organized, properly spaced for uniform growth and a good 360 view, planted logically together on mostly level terrain, and expertly shaped by their staff. The staff is friendly and helpful. Palmers is now our annual destination for a perfect Christmas tree.

Fresh garland wreaths, roping, Christmas accessories and railroad gifts are also for sale in the barn, "Christmas Junction". Dave and Lynn Beck are good family friends so even though there are 3 or 4 other tree farms close by, we always go to Beck's. It is a tradition to go after church on a Sunday afternoon and pick our tree. Um, most people drive home with their tree tied to the roof of their car. My family is NOT like most people. Dad feels it's much easier to uh, drive our John Deere tractor/wagon here and load it up in the wagon so we can forgo the hassle of tying it to our car. It's been a little different since my brother and I left the nest as the tree is usually up when we get home from Penn State or DC, respectively. When I moved to DC and bought a fresh tree 2 years ago, I was astounded by the $50 price tag. A 4-5 foot tree for $50!? Not the case at Beck's. I believe the price is between $40-45 for a 6 or 7 foot tree which is amazing. Beck's also has a huge pile of garland behind the barn that patrons are free to take as much as they want. Mom usually takes a few pieces to assemble mini trees that she puts on our front porch as decorations. Go to Beck's for your Christmas trees. It's worth it. But you don't have to bring your tractor...you can just bring a regular car or truck ;-). [PHOTOS] http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/7p4m-QZKoAeVDK99Cvw1vQ?select=OwrLyYk8B0y7UkQxUPzfAg

It wasn't easy finding trees over 9 feet. but we found it.. it cost $267. There are popular sprayed trees as well. Keep in mind they don't allow tailgating which isn't good considering we are coming 2 hours away and everyone is hungry. Apparently a few customers ruined it for the masses. We drove back home to go out to eat.

There was a great variety of trees, the details can be found on their website. It's very organized upon arrival with workers who show you where to park and point out the areas of different trees. I love how they put tree carts and hand saws all throughout the farm, so they are easily accessible. The trees are nicely spaced out so they are able to grow. They seem very healthy! We purchased blue spruce, and were very happy with their selection. There are many areas blocked off, I assume since they are still growing and need to mature. It's probably best they do this, to ensure proper growth and health of the trees. They have a cute store with freshly made wreaths, and all things Christmas related! It was SO cute! I'll be sure to purchase my trees and wreaths here moving fwd. The prices are a little higher than what we are use too, but I assume it's because of the care they provide to the trees and quality. Worth it to us. FYI- There are no dogs allowed or electric saws. They accept credit cards, which was nice as we didn't have cash. They shake, wrap and drill a hole into the trees. I would also wear boots you don't mind getting muddy. Thank you!!!

It's definitely WAY out in northwestern N.J., but it's a pretty easy drive. Lots of very well maintained trees and different species depending on your preference. They charge $8 per foot so it may be a little more expensive than the place we went last year, but it was worth the extra few bucks. Only downfall today was that they don't have a tractor driving around helping to pick up trees...they have wagons and plastic sleds for you to bring the trees to the location where they wrap the trees. Worked out fine for us. Guys and the kids wrapping the trees were great and they will tie the tree to your car for you. They also provide free cookies and hot chocolate! I really like that they wrap the tree with twine instead of plastic netting that never degraded in a landfill. Kudos! Yeah, we'll be back next year.

It is a great place to take a day trip with the whole family and choose and cut your own Christmas tree! There are many different tree species from spruces to firs and they also sell wreaths and other Christmas decorations. Yes the prices are high at $60 any tree but they are reasonable considering you could cut down a 16 foot tree for $60 where as other farms price it by the foot. There is even free hot chocolate and cookies. I highly recommend glenview farm to anyone who is not looking to just get a pre cut tree on the side of the road and wants the full holiday experience! It is also a very beautiful place that is always kept very clean and nice year after year.

We were one f the first cars parked and found a nice Douglas Fir within minutes. We considered waiting with the tree but the young man in the field advised that the tractor would be arriving in minutes. As we were easily within the first 20 people waiting for tree to be cut and bundled. Waited well over an hour before locating the so called "manager" to try and locate the tree. Apparently there was an entire wagon of missing trees as we were not alone waiting for tress in the same number sequence. Not a thing was done to attempt and resolve the issue. The gentleman (not really a gentleman) was actually the owners father. Told us quite rudely "look how busy we are". Well it wasn't busy at 930 when the tree should have been at the station netted and ready to go. Over two hours wait first thing in the morning is unacceptable. This place is completely unorganized and owned by the rudest and people. They actually pulled the facebook reviews down! Concerned only about counting their cash instead of providing a great customer experience. Will never go back again. And based on other reviews I'm not alone in my assessment. That being said the trees are beautiful and plentiful and the setting is very nice

While the trees themselves are nice and well-spaced,…read moreand they offer tree baling services, the overall experience is completely overshadowed by the lack of organization and outright disrespect toward customers. The wait times are absurd--an hour to pay for a tree and another hour and a half (if you're lucky) to pick it up. To make matters worse, the workers are incredibly rude, even to the point of throwing trees carelessly and suggesting that frustrated customers buy their trees at Walmart instead. The chaotic system of screaming out ticket numbers while stacking trees haphazardly is frustrating and ineffective. If you're still stuck in the payment line and miss your number, your tree gets buried under a pile of others. When you ask for help, you're met with dismissive attitudes and told you'll just have to wait. I've heard this used to be a nice establishment, but they clearly have no understanding of customer service or retention. They likely lost hundreds of customers this year alone, myself included. Next year, I'll take their advice and head to Walmart instead.
