Just a…read morecouple miles north of Richmond, it sits on a little strip of land between Gratiot Avenue and the Belle River in Columbus Township. There are no facilities at the park, and oftentimes the trash receptacles are filled to capacity. Otherwise, it is simple a roadside rest area & park, allowing travelers to stop along their way and take in a little nature from time to time.

The menu consists of the typical breakfast items, sandwiches and burgers, chicken, steak, some seafood choices, and pizza. I would've liked to have seen a few more "pasta" choices on the menu (they do offer a spaghetti dinner, but that was about it for the pasta). The one "chicken" dinner offered (other than the fried chicken) was a "Smothered" chicken... a couple of chicken breasts covered with onions, mushrooms and swiss cheese. Do you really want to call one of your dinner entrees "Smothered"? That just seems like a weird word to use. Kind of sounds like they killed the poor chicken by smothering it with a soft pillow (poor little guy got taken out by a mob hit). Actually, the food was decent (if not particularly special). I'd go back... especially if I had another "Restaurant.Com" certificate. If you're not familiar with Restaurant.Com, you should check it out sometime. When you go to their website, you can search for various participating restaurants by typing in your zipcode (or any area zipcode that you want). Then, when you've found a restaurant that you might like to try, you purchase a certificate (10, 25, 50 or 100 buck certificate), for a discounted price. The "normal" price on the website is a 25 dollar certificate for 10 bucks... BUT, if you sign up to get their e-mails, they'll send you offers for 80% off THAT PRICE, so you can usually get 25 dollar certificates for only TWO BUCKS!! Now, that's worth looking into, isn't it? Just remember to read all the "fine print" before buying... you can only use one certificate at a time, and you also have to spend a certain amount of money (depending on the restaurant) as well. The "Golden Hawk" seemed like a nice-enough place to go. They even had a very nice room upstairs that looked like it was specifically designed for Wedding Receptions. If only this place had a miniature golf course and a game-room... it could be a "family" entertainment center/golf complex all-in-one (I know... I'm just dreaming here). Just a thought...

This review is strictly for the banquet part of the course…read more I was invited to the wedding of one of my teachers and both the wedding and reception were hosted here. I think that makes it pretty convenient for guests. The wedding was held outside in the gazebo area overlooking the course. It was the most perfect day to get married. After the wedding, we enjoyed cocktail hour with hors d'oeuvres. The inside venue is HUGE! I loved the large windows overlooking the course and watching the sunset on the horizon. The pallet of color racing across the June sky was spectacular. The food was served family style and trust me there was plenty to go around. My favorite was the pasta and my friend loved the scalloped potatoes. They also offered a salad, beef, and a chicken dish. Everything was delicious. It was so much fun hanging out with my work crew. Everyone is enjoying some down time and this celebration was exactly what we needed. A few of the guys enjoyed a cigar on the outside balcony overlooking the course, while the rest of us ladies....got busy on the dance floor! Of course, my date and I were able to find some quiet time to sneak away and enjoy the views of the starlit night. It was a most perfect night and I would highly recommend this spot for future events.
