The results exceeded my expectations -- but just as importantly, the entire experience with his office was exceptional. From start to finish, Dr. Heppe's staff, nurses, and the entire team were simply wonderful. Elective surgery is not a decision to take lightly. It's important to understand what will happen, how long recovery will take, and to set realistic expectations. Dr. Heppe's team was incredible at walking me through everything. They explained each step clearly, made me feel comfortable, and reassured me throughout the entire process. What really stood out to me was how well the team works together. His staff has clearly been with him for a long time, and it shows in how smoothly everything runs -- everyone knows their role, and they function like a well-oiled machine.

On the day of my procedure, which is done in the building, I was very much impressed with how the process was done. All my questions and concerns were answered. I am a registered nurse, and I am acutely aware of when infection control procedures are followed and not followed, I absolutely felt safe in this environment. I am now three months out from my surgery and I am very much pleased with the results. I did not have any postoperative complications nor any infection. I honestly can highly recommend Dr.Heppe. I had a brachioplasty done and it's the first time in 30 years that I've worn sleeveless tops and dresses. I wish I had done this earlier! Thank you to Dr Heppe and his staff. I have sent friends to him and they are pleased as well. Connie W RN

Dr. Chang is extraordinarily meticulous, talented, and detail-oriented, with an excellent bedside manner. He is warm, thoughtful, reassuring, and clearly takes tremendous pride in his work. He corrected asymmetry and several other issues from my prior breast augmentation by a different surgeon that had left me very unhappy, and the transformation is remarkable. My tummy tuck scar is unbelievably thin, my belly button looks completely natural and beautifully placed, and everything looks balanced, refined, and exactly as I had hoped. The level of care extends to the entire practice. The office is beautiful, and the staff is consistently kind, caring, professional, and attentive. From start to finish, I felt incredibly well cared for. I previously had surgery with another prominent DMV-area plastic surgeon, and my experience with Dr. Chang was far superior. I am so thankful I found Dr Niamtu online. I was searching for a doctor who specialized in mole…read moreremoval and saw Dr Niamtu uses a special method using radiowave frequency rather than cutting moles. The back story.. I had a raised, skin-colored mole directly between my eyes. It wasn't incredibly noticeable, but people always thought I had a zit. For years I wanted to have it removed but was too scared. I visited at least three plastic surgeons and one dermatologist where I live in DC to get a consultation on the removal. All of them said not to do it because they'd have to cut and it would leave a scar between my eyes-- no thanks!!! So when I found Dr Niamtu uses a different method online, and since I live in DC and they're in Richmond I emailed photos of my mole to the team and they were extremely responsive. The doctor himself even emailed me back after looking at the photos I sent. So, off I went to Richmond for the day. I was nervous because, hello, this is my face! Right between my eyes!! But the doctors and staff put me immediately at ease. They numbed my mole and used their special radiowave machine to eliminate it. I was in and out quickly and essentially painlessly, other than the numbing pinprick. For about a month after, it was very red where the mole once was. This month of having the red mark was worth EVERY minute -- I now have no mole whatsoever, no mark, no scar, nothing. It looks as if the imperfection was never there. I can't begin to express how thankful I am, it really helped my confidence and am so glad I trusted the doctor here with my face. If I ever needed anything else done I would drive down again from DC without a question. My procedure was done in February 2015.

I'm writing this review one month post-operatively regarding Dr. Joe Niamtu's work and staff. For…read morethe record, mine was a 4.5 hour procedure under full-anesthesia and included upper and lower blepharoplasty, face lift, neck lift, chin implant, and full CO2 laser resurfacing. Not a small undertaking. Although additional enhancement procedures such as cheek implants and a lip-lift were options offered, none were pushed on me and I chose not to add either. A child of the hippie and feminist era, I never thought I would consider such a denial of my authentic self! I started my dialog with the staff in May of 2025, put money down in June, with a surgical date established in September of 2025. Though living far from Richmond, I had done my research prior to scheduling and was reassured that I had selected the right surgeon by the website, testimonials, and video tutorials of Dr. Niamtu which thoroughly prepared me for what was to happen. That being said, I had LOTS of questions before and after. Dr. Niamtu has addressed all of them with understanding and patience. If questions concerned other members of his staff, such as the anesthesiologist or the surgical nurse, he had them contact me directly. In the preoperative appointment, he and I went over the results I expected, and he clarified exactly what could and could not be done. Despite the understandable anxiety of going under the knife, he and his staff made me feel safe and every concern was attended to before and in the post-operative weeks that I was in the area. I wondered if after I left I would get the same responsiveness from them, figuring that once the car is bought and paid for, the dealer takes his money and runs, but that is hardly the case with Dr. Niamtu. My concerns during the healing process continue to be addressed. Being from out of town, I chose to stay in the Richmond area a full two weeks after the surgery. I wisely chose Susanne Singer as my caretaker. I would have stayed longer if Dr. Niamtu had indicated it was necessary, but he gave me the green light to get on the plane at the 2-week point. Surgical nurse, Breeden Browning, was excellent for her skill, but also when I talked to her woman-to-woman about how to maintain my results going forward. I am still healing, but I got just what I wanted, a younger version of me. I had had a good run as a somewhat attractive woman for many years, but at 75 could no longer enjoy what I saw in the mirror. This surgery ensures my last years will be celebrating what I see there. I look like my 55-year-old self, which wasn't bad at all! Can't thank everyone-surgeon, surgical nurses, anesthesiologist, and admin staff enough. Now I know why everyone said in advance, you won't be sorry.

I came here to see Dr. Kochuba about lose skin on my chest, the process was easy and surgery day came quickly. Surgery day was as easy as it could get with me arriving and within the hour being in the OR. The recovery process had me worried but I found it very easy and was walking around the same day. Recovery lasted about a month with follow up check-ins every month or so. Overall my confidence went from a 3/10 to a 10/10 and I couldn't be more happy with what Dr. Kochuba did for me. It is also worth mentioning the staff their are all amazing.

After carrying 8-pound twins and a 9.5-pound baby, I was left with significant abdominal muscle separation. I lost the baby weight, went through several major life changes, and eventually got myself back into good shape, but there came a point when I had to acknowledge that there were things exercise simply wasn't going to fix. I even worked with two different pelvic floor therapists specifically to address the muscle separation before deciding that a surgical consultation was the right next step for me. Once I made that decision, I did A LOT of research on clinics and providers in the area. Austin-Weston was the one I kept coming back to. I sought out Dr. Kochuba specifically because of his background and experience, and his consistently amazing reviews definitely played a part in getting me through the door. Now, being on the other side of surgery, I completely understand why his patients speak so highly of him. From my first consultation, I felt comfortable with him. He listened to what bothered me and what I hoped to accomplish, pointed out things he noticed from his area of expertise, and was very straightforward about what surgery could and couldn't do. He helped manage my expectations in terms of my results, and I never felt like he was trying to sell me on more procedures or convince me to do something I didn't need. Most importantly, I needed relief from some of the secondary issues I was experiencing as a result of the muscle separation, and I wanted to feel like myself again, not like a completely different person. I felt like he understood that from the beginning. Ultimately, I chose to have a tummy tuck with muscle repair and liposuction. The Austin-Weston team was also incredible from beginning to end. My surgical consultant was informative and helpful, the nurses were fantastic, and I always felt like I knew what was happening and who to contact if I needed something. I also opted to have an overnight nurse after surgery and to stay at the facility through my follow-up the next day. If you're debating whether it's worth it, do it. I cannot recommend that option enough. Those first hours after surgery are a lot, and having someone there who knew exactly what was normal, kept me comfortable, helped manage my medications, made sure I actually rested, and gave me peace of mind was worth every penny. My recovery went very smoothly, and I credit a lot of that to how well the team at Austin-Weston prepared me beforehand. The patient and caregiver education made a huge difference. I knew what to expect, what was normal, what to watch for, and how best to manage those first days and weeks of recovery. I never felt like we were going into it blind. I am thrilled with my results, especially now that I am 3 months out and back to my regular work out routine and daily life. My strength has improved tenfold and an unexpected benefit is that my posture has improved greatly. I remember sitting in bed a few days post op remarking I could actually sit up straight. The aesthetic transformation has been a huge bonus, and one I'm incredibly happy with, but feeling like my core is functional and connected again has been just as important to me as what I look like. One thing I would add for anyone considering this: most people looking at me before surgery probably would have said I didn't "need" a tummy tuck. I was at a healthy weight, active, and in good shape. But they also weren't living in my body. They couldn't feel the muscle separation or the secondary issues it was causing, and they can't decide what would make me feel the most comfortable in my skin. There will always be people with opinions about whether you "need" plastic surgery, but ultimately this is such a personal decision. Do your research, understand the risks, have realistic expectations, and then make the decision that's right for you. If I had to make the decision again, I would choose Dr. Kochuba and Austin-Weston without hesitation. I wish everyone could have this kind of experience with their care providers. I went into this having done a ton of research and with very high expectations, and somehow the experience and my results still exceeded them, my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner!
