I called the Nexton location and when I asked "Is this the office in the Nexton area", he responds, "We do not have a location on Nexton Parkway". Not what I asked. My previous audiologist knows I am a veteran and tried to support my disability claim for tinnitus. 12 years of being an aircraft mechanic. The VA says its not caused by my hearing loss. Asked for a nexus letter for "noise exposure" and he wanted me to come in for another hearing test. Already done that. Have had tinnitus for 10 years. Documented at MUSC bilateral since Jan 2016. Enlisted 2003-2016.

The young man that did the screening was friendly, thorough and fast. Dr Lee was awesome. She explained what was going on and presented some options for treatment as I'm going home in 3 days. She is an excellent communicator and explained in ways that I was able to understand. They got my prescription called in to the local Walgreens and I am confident with follow up in Nicaragua that I will get better soon. I cannot think of one thing that would have made my visit more pleasant, efficient or professional.

I wish that policy had been communicated before the appointment was scheduled, as it would have saved time and frustration. I also felt the discussion regarding hearing protection came across as somewhat condescending. I have professional training and experience with proper hearing protection, and I would have appreciated a more collaborative and respectful conversation. The audiology staff was professional during the exam, but clearer communication and bedside manner would have improved the experience significantly.
