This isn't a big chain with a flat screen tv in the waiting room, however, from the moment I walked in Laura radiated warmth and comfort. She introduced herself to me and asked a lot of questions to understand what my concerns were and what I needed. She made suggestions yet wasn't pushy or domineering as some of the local competitors tend to be. It was all about my personal comfort. Her studio is clean, relaxing, fragrant and the perfect space in which to get out all of the kinks. I hurt my lower back this week and it not only knocked me out of commission with my regular routine, but it made the rest of my body tight and achy because every muscle was over compensating for my aching back. Laura did such an amazing job on me, I felt like a million bucks after. On a side note, Laura practices Reiki. I am not even going to pretend to know what that is, but she said two things to me about my root & heart chakras that were so spot on that it was actually mind blowing! It is hours later now and I'm still thinking about what she said - she has an amazing intuition and is deeply perceptive. The massage was epic and I will be back as soon as possible for another. When I expressed my concerns, I was told, "I'm sure the court will understand." Despite my request, communication continued through email, and my personal email address was disclosed. As a result, my former partner began contacting and harassing me through that email account, forcing me to change my email address. I was also uncomfortable that emails I sent directly to the therapist regarding these concerns and other matters were shared with my former partner. This made me feel that my privacy and personal boundaries were not being respected. After these incidents, I no longer felt comfortable working with this provider. My experience left me with concerns about confidentiality, communication practices, and professional boundaries. Anyone considering family counseling should have a clear understanding of how communications and private information will be handled.
