I hear they are gone and have moved to Balmoral in lake placid. beware, thankfully we moved mom to VA and she is flourishing at 93. there was no nurse on-site, except for Tara who claimed she was. it was a horrible experience for our family and I don't wish that on anyone who wants their elderly parent to live out their life 'assisted'. when I complained to Mainstay Senior Living, their response was to help pay for moms move to another facility they owned several hours away. When I said no way, they gave me a refund for moms last month before we moved her. That should tell you they were sweeping issues under the rug. Do not let this happen to your loved one.

WARNING: this facility is very understaffed. They don't have time to care for the patients the way…read morethey need to be cared for. We witnessed staff members on their phones while feeding patients at dinner. During that time there was a fall when one gentleman grabbed his walker backwards. when he fell, they told him he was OK. I didn't witness any medical personnel. Check him over. On another occasion, a patient pulled off her undergarments and urinated in the comments area on the carpet, and the response from the staff was to put a chair over the top of it. No one cleaned it while we were there the rest of the time, and when we went back the next day, the stain was still there and the place smelled like urine. i'm sad my family chose this place for my dad. The facility keeps going to the sites where I leave reviews and they keep removing them. So the ratings they have are not very accurate. Pay attention and see how long this review stays up. I'm curious to see.

Residents often sustain unnecessary injury because of a lack of help/care. In a short period of a week and a half, I witnessed a man get up using his walker backwards until he fell on the floor, a woman take down her diaper and urinate on the living room floor which was not cleaned up for over 45min. They put a chair over the stain!!! The staff belittles guests and makes them feel unwelcome. They make up reasons to get POAs upset to limit visitation. They enable isolation of their residents. It's sooo sad to watch!!! For the sky-high rate this facility charges, you could receive MUCH BETTER CARE!!!

His mental state when he arrived was his normal self we were talking about his trips to Alaska and baseball. When I arrived the next day he was disoriented and wearing a diaper. He hasn't worn a diaper since he was a baby. His oxygen levels were low and he was feverish according to the ambulance service we had called to get him to a place that cares about the patient.

He Needed rehab following pneumonia. They said he would get 30 minutes twice a week due to his insurance! Ridiculous! He had an Advantage Plan. Beware of this type of insurance. Tried to get a different room, no luck. The care was below minimal, staff uncaring and absent most of the time. My dad was on puréed foods temporarily and they gave him a scoop of brown pudding like substance- they said it was puréed toast! Disgusting! I. I could go on and on but we got help to take my Dad out of there immediately. Very risky for someone that needs this type of facility for their health. Don't take a chance. I hate to think what would have been the outcome if I had not lived close by and saw everything that happened. I would give them minus stars.
