It's well and widely known that cipro is a DANGEROUS medication and should only be prescribed as a last resort. News articles, cdc, fda, nhs, Mayo Clinic, clinical journals and personal stories warning about the dangers of cipro and this doctor prescribed it for a minor uti. Dr Walker should have her medical license reviewed! There are SEVERAL other less dangerous UTI medications that could have been prescribed such as Keflex, Macrobid, Macrodantin or Monurol. Occasionally there are new medical advancements and new information that comes out...we don't use leaches any longer to cure headaches and we shouldn't be flippantly prescribing cipro any longer. From a simple search... and then there are articles after articles! "Cipro (ciprofloxacin) should only be prescribed by doctors as a last resort for severe infections when no other options exist, due to severe, permanent, and disabling side effects.
