He is super friendly and knowledgeable about the plants on the property. Over 5 acre property next to the mountain view. Alas! No double pikake available at the moment he has only the single type. Rukin was kind to reccomend 2 other nursery we can check out. Mom ended up purchasing a beautiful ombre looking potted plant and I got a japan honeysuckle that had a sweet aroma. 5 stars for service and friendly smile from Rukin. Mom received bonus 2 gallon pots from Rukin too. Call ahead to check office hours during covid. Prices were much lower than the local Home depot. 5 gold stars all the way! That included 2 huge pine trees, and random other trees that grew wild up there. So I hired him to clear it all out. I remember the day like yesterday, we got called off work because of dangerous winds, so i went home at about 2pm and found Shade working by himself in my backyard. He cleared HALF of that over grown area BY HIMSELF!!!! In whipping winds that were taking trees down around the neighborhood (literally a tree across the street went down). I was just in awe at how much this one guy was able to do, it completely blew my mind at how hard he worked, you couldnt even walk in there 2 feet, and he levelled it solo!!! Well I think over-all it took him about 3 days, and 2 FULL SIZED rubbish bins to clear that area out. And since then, we have him come bi-weekly to do the yeard and maintain that top area in which he planted gingers, banana, he tends the avacado tree back there, and it just stays beautiful all the time. Shade is a stand up guy, a family man with an amazing huge heart. I know his whole family now, his mom, pop, wife and daughter, brothers, cousins. I wasn't at home when he arrived so I had to talk him through what I wanted. I had a lot of requests and he was very patient with me as I rattled off everything in my head. Let me say that our yard was a mess and everything was completely overgrown due to the past month or two of rain. I was waiting on a couple more quotes from other companies: 1 was going to be waaaaay more expensive than what Roger quoted me and the other took too long to make it out to do an estimate. I asked Roger when he could do it and he told me Sunday. Woot! You're hired! I figured it would've taken a whole day but they were able to get everything done in a few hours. I am amazed by the sheer amount of work that they did and how well it turned out. They even did a few little touch ups on things we didn't ask for. From the first time we had a talanoa (conversation), I was super impressed. Daren came over quick for a walkthrough, taking the time to answer all my questions and even threw in some solid recommendations. Before contacting Total Landscape, I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with NyLawn (another company specializing in turf installation). From first impressions to constant waiting for a response etc, it was a really unprofessional and frustrating experience. I was ready to give up until I came across Total Landscape instead. I gave them a call and left a message, then in a matter of minutes I received a call back from the owner Travis. I accomplished more in a phone call than I did in taking the time to drive to Nylawn's show room and the constant calls to set up an estimate appointment. Which by the way was never returned until a not so stellar email and Yelp review I left them which was pretty sad. In less than a week Travis set me up with an appointment with Gina his estimator. In that time, if I had any questions or concerns, the communication was swift and very open. The estimate appointment went smooth as Gina was very professional, approachable and knowledgable of the material. Instead of doing a deposit I decided to pay for this project up front and Travis made it very easy to pay via email. Such a major benefit vs making a trip to an office. Invoice, receipts and service contracts were all sent through email immediately! The installation went smooth, there were a few snags along the way with the ground itself yet they managed and would strive for nothing less than a perfect project. Project took 2 days from beginning to end along with an extra day to make sure everything is set which showed their attention to detail and passion for perfection. The lawn itself is amazing, they only carry the best top quality material. My friends and family loved the backyard and were impressed with real look and feel of the lawn. They admitted to having their doubts but were quick to say they were now believers. I would recommend Travis and his team any day over any other company out there. So happy with the job the Mossman brothers did on our backyard. It was a shady area with little sun…read moreso the grass wouldn't grow and it turned into a mud pit. They transformed our yard with a paver deck and new grass sod that was better suited to the shady environment. They also installed a drainage system to ensure we didn't run into the same mud issues as before. These guys are truly hard workers and take pride in their work.
