If your like me and not quite a gardening type but enjoy the looks of a nice grass yard or lawn, Synthetic grass/turf is the way to go. Before contacting Total Landscape, I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with NyLawn (another company specializing in turf installation). From first impressions to constant waiting for a response etc, it was a really unprofessional and frustrating experience. I was ready to give up until I came across Total Landscape instead. I gave them a call and left a message, then in a matter of minutes I received a call back from the owner Travis. I accomplished more in a phone call than I did in taking the time to drive to Nylawn's show room and the constant calls to set up an estimate appointment. Which by the way was never returned until a not so stellar email and Yelp review I left them which was pretty sad. In less than a week Travis set me up with an appointment with Gina his estimator. In that time, if I had any questions or concerns, the communication was swift and very open. The estimate appointment went smooth as Gina was very professional, approachable and knowledgable of the material. Instead of doing a deposit I decided to pay for this project up front and Travis made it very easy to pay via email. Such a major benefit vs making a trip to an office. Invoice, receipts and service contracts were all sent through email immediately! The installation went smooth, there were a few snags along the way with the ground itself yet they managed and would strive for nothing less than a perfect project. Project took 2 days from beginning to end along with an extra day to make sure everything is set which showed their attention to detail and passion for perfection. The lawn itself is amazing, they only carry the best top quality material. My friends and family loved the backyard and were impressed with real look and feel of the lawn. They admitted to having their doubts but were quick to say they were now believers. I would recommend Travis and his team any day over any other company out there. I called again on Friday and someone picked up saying, "Hello". That's it, just hello. Brother Travis is awesome! He came personally to look at the front of my home and decide what was best. Quick measurements done and had a date set up to install turf. The workers were great and friendly, they kept in contact with me throughout the job and only took a day and a half! I really wanted turf outside my home to make it look nice and add an area in which I could play with my son and also have activities outside. As I've written elsewhere on Yelp, I was rather frustrated to find so few reviews for landscaping services in my area. It's great to get help with deciding what restaurant to try for dinner, but what about with big-ticket services that you're going to literally live with? So, I decided to do my part to help folks make informed decisions in this arena. This is entry #2 concerning my search for a landscaping company ... I chose to go with TLM based partly on their follow-through in getting a decent price quote to me within a reasonable amount of time (from the day of the site visit) and in a professional manner. The first company to check out my property gave me an immediate quote of $1500. When I showed unease about paying it in cash (as the rep later told me he wanted), he dropped it to $1200. When I asked him for a written quote, it was a figure scribbled on scrap paper. The second company gave me an immediate quote of $2,800, but never followed through on sending me a written quote at all (see review #1 under my name). TLM cost $1750 before tax. My property was in dire need of a major overhaul/clean up. I had California grass taller than me; vines encircling the house in a stranglehold; a chain-link fence choked with weeds; hale koa from Hell; and more. First of all, let me say that the crew was punctual, pleasant and courteous. And they were so hardworking that I will never again claim to have had a hard day's work at the office. Seriously. Six guys put in a full-day's work, and then three came back the next day. Except for a strip of land and cleanup, I didn't see what needed to be done the second day. But then, I'm clearly not an experienced groundskeeper. The 3-member crew put in another 5 hours of hard work the second day. They continued to cut and clear and trim and who-knows-what-else. Bottom line: I hadn't realized what was possible until they did it, and then I was amazed. My property was like some guy who has been living in the woods for years. His hair is long, matted, and greasy; he has a wild beard with twigs and what-not stuck in it; he has bushy eyebrows sticking every which way, and hair growing out of his ears. He's dressed in three layers of stained and tattered clothes, with his big toes sticking out of his filthy sneakers because his toe nails have worn through the canvas; his fingernails are like dirty talons. He's wearing thick glasses held together with tape. And now? TLM has transformed my property. The guy has a buzz cut and is clean shaven. He's wearing contact lenses, a clean t-shirt and shorts, and nice new sandals. His nails and toenails look like they've been manicured and even buffed to a nice shine. When is the last time you got more than you expected on a big project? Yeah, me, too -- never. Before TLM's work on my property, that is. Now that I can actually see the ground, I am thinking of going further -- not just having the place cleaned up, but actually landscaped. So, I'm going to see what TLM can suggest within my budget. I also need to hire someone to maintain this place -- to keep the California grass and hale koa from taking over again. TLM gave me a price quote for monthly maintenance, but it was too high for me ... I'm not positive I need all that they were offering. read more

We checked out one other landscaping company and their quote came in 2 times the amount of the one we received from TLM. Having TLM redo our yard was a no-brainer. Not only does the TLM crew know their landscaping stuff, but they were hardworking, friendly, and very courteous. They were able to get our huge yard done in just under one week (while having to deal with horrible weather). The transformation of our yard before & after was amazing and we couldn't be happier. First class service and results. The entire staff was courteous, professional, and the work they did was beyond expectations. This review is a few months delayed, I wanted to make sure none of my plants or sod died. Total Landscape had a blank canvas with my yard. Travis offered up great ideas for plants and the layout. I ended up having 10 different plants, sod, full sprinkler system, a front planter area, custom herb garden, and multiple potted gardenias installed. The best part with working with Total Landscape is the feeling of family. Every worker was very attentive and offered up great suggestions for the final design of the yard. Their keen eye and honest opinions actually persuaded me to move around a few plants from my original layout idea and now that I look back on it, I'm thankful they put their foot down and told me what's best. This review is based on customer service. I did not get any estimate or yard service. Here's why: 8/12: I called TLM and asked for a free estimate. The guy (I forgot his name) said he could come on the 8/21 1000. 8/21: I waited for 2hrs and had something scheduled at 130P. I called him and he said he did remember having something to do at 1000 today but didn't put it in his schedule. I think, ok, we can reschedule. So we agree on 8/25 at 8A, first thing in the morning. 8/25: I'm up early in the morning after working 3 12hr shifts in a row. 8-10A I waited. I received no calls. I called TLM twice, left a message with my info, and asked to call me back. If they were lost or running late, they could've at least called. But I got nothing. If I knew they weren't planning on coming, the I would've slept in. All I can say is what kind of business is this. No professionalism at all. We set an appointment that was mutually agreed upon and it was not met. Not only that, they never called me back. Even if we did meet on 8/25 for a free estimate, how can I trust a business to do my landscaping if they can't even come in on a date and time that was mutually agreed upon? We met with and got quotes from 3 different companies and by far Total Landscape was the best in all areas. Although they were not the cheapest, the value and service that they provided exceeded all the competition. The workers showed up on time, worked efficiently, and genuinely cared about every detail. This review is for my vacation house on Oahu. Total Landscape Management came in to install my landscaping after being referred by Sprinkler Pro. They quickly put attention to my yard since I was having a party that weekend. The planters were designed and built beautifully, filled with lush tropical groundcovers and shrubbery. TLM recommended El Toro Zoysia. They even installed a water feature on my lanai. They were able to bring in their electrician to install an outdoor plug to power the water feature. I had an emergency. One of the sprinkler heads broke off and I was losing gallons by the minute AND I could not locate the cut off valve for the sprinkler system. It took the water board about an hour to turn off the water. In the meantime, I called Aloha and they sent a man out within 45 minutes of my call. He found the cut off valve, repaired the sprinkler head, and then his boss showed up (which I thought was impressive). The also replaced a diaphragm on another part of the system. Unfortunately it popped, but when I called they sent the man right back and he fixed it permanently. I was very pleased with the quick service, the quick repair, and the cost. read more

I needed repairs done quick on a leaking valve for my older sprinkler system. After calling other companies who couldn't come to fix the problem for a week, I came across Total Landscape Management. I called them on Thursday, they came out to my house on Friday to diagnose the problem and see what parts were needed and Travis (president) was here early Saturday morning to fix the problem. He was very helpful and even offered advice on other landscape questions I had. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing their services. We were very happy with TLM's service from start to finish. We hired them after getting quotes from multiple other landscaping companies. Not only was it a great value, but their plan and recommendations for our new home and completely bare yard were perfect. Did a fine job on my neighbors, However you'll need to nicely ask them to keep the noise down as these buggahs are noisey. We live in a town home and next door to neighbors who had the whole yard pulled up. Good news they do show up at 8 am sharp. They had the music blasting most of the day and were yelling to each other so loud it sounded like they were in my bedroom. When the F Bombs starting falling like rain in Kahaluú, I lost my temper, and shouted down, stop swearing. The man told me "no tell me fo wat do, I feel like snapping". I wasn't nice and they meet my 8 hours of frustration with more anger. Finally A man came up and said they were turning the music down and he apologized nicely. I tried to take the whole review down, but Yelp won't let me. So this is the best I can do and tell the truth. TLM did an awesome job! Just wish we would have done this sooner. No more carrying the lawn mower to my back yard to cut a small patch of grass. The pets already love the new synthetic lawn. Kekoa and the rest of his installers did an awesome job, showed up early and worked late, thereby getting the job completed within two days. Very professional and great work ethic. If you are thinking about getting any type of synthetic grass, don't wait and call these guys asap! At the discovery of an underground water leak in my sprinkler system, I quickly went to Yelp to figure out who to call about my semi-emergency. Sprinkler Pro (Total Landscape Management) had very good reviews, which I discovered were totally deserved! Travis answered on the first call and helped me figure out an initial step to stop the leak before he could get to me. Within the week, Travis came to make an assessment and returned within a couple of days to do the fix, completing the job the same day. Afterward, everything was cleaned up nicely, and he did a total sprinkler check, making small adjustments to the sprinkler heads so that everything was in perfect condition before he left. His prices are absolutely reasonable (it wasn't the horrifying bill I was imagining for an irrigation leak!), and his service was superb.
