If you are staying at El Conquistador you must visit Palomino. It's a short ferry ride from the resort's Marina. The beach is beautiful and relaxing. The drinks from the restaurant were good. We loved it.

Ferry arriving for return to the resort.

The ferry ride is about 12 minutes. If you get motion sickness, then take a pill or wear the patch. It's a natural island, so you will see fish and coral. Therefore, wear beach shoes in the water to avoid the rocky shore and any coral. The shallow area stretches for a great distance. No breakfast is on the island , but drinks and lunch is served. Free running chickens, chicks, and roosters roam, as well as the slow moving Iguanas.

The water may not be as blue as some beaches in Hawaii or other places but still a wonderful island! What makes it so awesome is how clean it is and that it isn't crowded with people so my husband and I were able to enjoy ourselves in peace.. We saw a rainbow and had the amazing opportunity to experience the rain while swimming on the beach at Palomino. There are some options for water excursions. There's also mini golf and volleyball. We did not get a chance to explore other parts of the island such as the chapel or hiking to the other side but still, my heart adores Palomino Island!

What a treat this place turned out to be. In visiting PR before I thought, where are the picture perfect beaches? Who knew it was held in the hands (sea) of el conquistador! Palomino island is reserved for hotel guests and some locals. You take the complimentary ferry from the hotel as a guest and arrive within 10 minutes. Everything you need is waiting there. They supply towels, beach chairs and have some shades areas to sit. There is hiking, horseback riding, and water sports available if you would like to rent. Everything is card or room charge which is nice and easy. The water is beautiful and so are the shells. All staff are friendly and helpful. You can even get massages professionally from a spa staff in a beach cabana-heaven! The only Cons were not all places to eat were open because it was low season, but I would rather that be my complaint over too many tourists and no where to sit, which I hear can happen. It was pretty desolate when we went which was great. We rented a kayak and made it to palominito island, not too far and is just that, has a tree but that's it. Supposedly a shot of pirates of the Caribbean was shot there, so that's cool. I didn't get to hike to the top but would if I went back. There's also a chapel on the island for weddings! Must be nice! Palomino is the reason to stay at el conquistador.

Mariah Carey's music video "Honey" was filmed here http://youtu.be/w3KOowB4k_k

Pros: (+) Beautiful clear water (+) White fine sand (+) Took some amazing photos (+) Kayaking Cons: (-) None. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Take me back! I came here on an excursion I booked with East Island Excursion and Palomino's Island was one of the stops they made. There is 2 parts: There is a beach lined with beach chairs and the hotel, then there is a mini deserted island with some trees away from the hotel area. We went on the deserted part which was beautiful. The water is so clear. Just be careful because there is some coral along the shore so you can cut yourself. Wear water shoes. They have filmed many things on this little island. One being Mariah Carey's music video Honey http://youtu.be/w3KOowB4k_k and also Corona commercials.

Behind me is the clothing optional beach, it is empty most of the time. I've spent a day there and not another soul showed up!

This is my get away from a bs world piece of paradise. Even on a rainy day, I would pick this little island! I go to the clothing optional spot (ask the bar tenders on how to get there), but it is peaceful and beautiful all over. They have horses too, they take you in a tour all over. There is a great snorkeling spot between the Palomino island and Palominito. It is shallow, but you will see a lot of sea life there. Go explore, it is beautiful!

Lovely island and lots of fun activities. Soft sand, lots of chairs, volleyball, mini golf, ping pong, life size chess, bocce ball, basketball, hiking, horses, iguanas, food, adult beverages, jet skis, kayaks. Really enjoy this place!

    Great beach

Spent two days on the island. It definitely is really busy on the weekends as lots of locals visit and hang out here as well. On the weekdays, it feels more like a private beach. Only food option is iguanas cafe which is standard but decent. Crystal blue waters and lots of lounge areas. Horseback riding, snorkeling, and hiking is all available on this island.

This was quite the pleasant adventure…read moreHere was my experience. ---- You know those beaches that immediately make you slow down and appreciate where you are? Seven Seas Beach was one of those for me. Coming from the mainland, it almost felt unfair how naturally beautiful this place was--clear water, palm trees, soft sand, and mountain scenery all blending together into one peaceful view. AMBIANCE Parking: There's a parking lot but there's parking on the road. I'd probably prefer parking on the road if you're going to leave as the beach closes (the line can get long) Seating: Plenty! Whether it's in the main beach or the hidden beach you got a lot of choices. Vibes: The area is a more calmer side of Puerto Rico. Fishing-town environment with local bars, seafood spots, and opportunities for bio tours. The main beach is really nice with with turquoise water, green palms, and views toward the surrounding landscape. There are a few kiosks setup if you do want to grab some food. If you're up for an adventure, coming from the main entrance, you go through a forest (enjoy the sights and sounds, like the coquis) for a good 30 minutes you can enjoy "playa escondido" a beautiful secluded beach with the common calm, shallow, and crystal clear waters but less human traffic and a better view of sunset. TL;DR OVERALL 5 Stars. B-E-A-utiful! I'm glad to have stumbled across this spot. My only wish was that I was there longer to enjoy and take it all in. Beautiful scenery, calm waters, relaxing atmosphere, and enough nearby activity without ruining the natural vibe. Whether you want to swim, relax, nap under palm trees, or simply reset mentally for a few hours--this spot is absolutely worth visiting. Would gladly come back again. TIPS * Shoutouts to the local that told me not to give up or be afraid midway through my trek to "playa escondido" * If the parking machine is still slow. I'd recommend street parking. * This spot earned its name for its isolation, shades of blue, and different bodies of water

You'd never know this beach exists if you're standing on the street. The beach is decent, there are food and drink kiosks that come handy when you want a break from swimming or sun bathing. We noticed some people set up beach chairs and small tables and turning their area into their own personal comfy space.

From that point on, it doesn't cost you anything unless you choose to spend money. It's a short walk from the parking lot to the beach. We had gotten there early, and decided to rent an umbrella and a pair of lounge chairs, which cost us $35 for the day. Considering we ended up spending nearly 7 hours on the beach, it was definitely worth the purchase price. The beach is gorgeous, and the water is rock free. It did get quite busy, but we actually enjoyed the people watching. There are vendors that walk up and down the beach, selling ice, creams and drinks, but there are also little Kioskos on the property that you can walk to easily to order hot food. At the one we visited, we got delicious slushy's, Pinchos, and empanadillas that were all delicious. We had a great time, and would absolutely go back in a heartbeat! When you leave the gated parking lot, you are literally around the corner from the Luquillo kioskos if you want to hit them up for shopping or dinner after your beach day. Makes things super convenient!
