Now I'd like to rave about how much she's helped relieve me of chronic pain in a few areas I thought would never go away. I get lower back pain from time to time due to my profession and active lifestyle. Having kids to run after definitely adds to the daily stress my body takes. Melissa knew exactly where to pinpoint the problem areas and gave me tips on what to do in order to prevent or alleviate some of the bad habits that can lead to some of the pain. I was also having some pain in my elbow after the initial quarantine. It was due to being inactive for weeks and then suddenly finding myself back at the gym and lifting weights again. She used this cupping/rolling method on my forearm and arm, and also noticed that I was resting my wrist improperly which was adding to the pain. What can I say about Marika? She's basically heaven! She is the kindest and gentlest spirit and somehow makes you not bummed about being poked by needles! I was super nervous to get acupuncture done. She was so gentle that it didn't even hurt at all. Each time I come in she customizes my treatment based on what is happening in my body on that day. Melissa is a MIRACLE WORKER! I had tried everything to get rid of upper back tension and lower back pain and the issue never went away. I scheduled an injury rehab massage with Palpate, Paul was my massage therapist for the evening. I called just a handful of hours before to see if they had any openings for the evening and luckily they had a spot available for me. I was really happy that they were able to get me in on such short notice. I was feeling a lot of tightness and tension in my upper body due to a hit and run auto accident the previous week. I really just wanted some relief to the constant nagging pain. It had kept me up the night before and I found it difficult to find a good sleeping position at night because of the soreness. Paul was very courteous, friendly, professional, and he had a gentle voice that I found soothing during the massage also. My session with him lasted about an hour and I felt very relaxed when I left. I would recommend Paul to anyone looking for a good quality massage. It was a great experience, easy to book, and by the time I got home my receipt was in my email inbox. I found Melissa just in time! I am a competitive Olympic weightlifter and before I met Melissa my body was really on the edge of an injury and my daily training was being impacted. My lower back was acting up and my left shoulder was so tender that training was becoming extremely uncomfortable. I was at the point where my back was so tight and basically just throbbing. When I first have a massage I know it takes time to feel better. I was so impressed with Melissa and excited that just after one session I was feeling so much better. After three sessions I feel like a completely different person. My shoulder pain is gone...my back is free from tightness...and my overhead positions are so much more comfortable again. I have a big competition coming up and thanks to Melissa I feel like I can focus on training and not managing pain and tightness. She has made a noticeable difference and I am extremely thankful for her being attentive to the needs of the sport and my body.
