    Cochinita Pibil
    Melissa L.

The menu was unclear and not because of language barrier because we could all read write and speak English and Spanish very well. It doesn't describe what protein type you will be getting nor how the dish is served realistically. Asking questions doesn't get you much clarification either. And the menus were missing pages and falling apart. Even the table behind us audibly laughed at the menu. They did not have 3 of the cocktails we ordered. So we gave up. They did not have 2 of the food dishes we ordered. The mole with pork belly was only FOUR (4) pieces of pork belly, of which each piece half was pure fat. It wasn't even covered in mole but rather sat on top a measly amount of mole sauce with a couple (3-5) local wild vegetable greens. The spicy chicken sandwich was sad and nothing special and shouldn't even be on this menu for such an "innovative" place. The milanesa was of beef (not chicken, only clarifying cuz the menu did not specify) and was accompanied by a nice small salad with avocado that was delicious. The cochinita pibil dish barely had any beans. The meat was placed on top a little brush of refried beans. Might as well not mention it as part of the dish since it was more decorative than anything. The meat was tasty but too salty. We didn't even get enough tortillas for the whole table and finished our food before we could get the attention of any waiter to ask for more tortillas. The plates are ridiculously small and you WILL leave hungry. For the high prices being paid and miserable food portions, you would at least expect Michelin star quality taste and service. But this place has NONE of those things. It only gets 2 stars for great tasting mole and cochinita pibil. The service is slow and hard to get their attention. We were seated right away but we had to wait so long to get the attention of a server just to order and then hear back on 3 separate occasions that a total 5 of the things we ordered were not available anymore. It took longer than each of us four to use the one restroom in turns to get the check for the table and even longer to pay. There seemed to only be one waiter actually doing his job and the rest were just chit chatting with each other or leaning against the wall avoiding customers' eye contact. There was also two bartenders just laughing and talking the whole time we were there instead of working. I do not recommend this place and regret listening to those 3+ travel blogs mentioning this place as worthy of a visit. Stick to the birria and tortas ahogadas that GDL is known for and don't go to this place. So much regret wasting time and money here.

Cute casual cafe bar / restaurant with delicious coffee options and breakfast.. Walking distance from hotel Krystal Urban .. Busy place, but wait time was less than 10 minutes during a Tuesday at 11am..

Ambiance: 5/5: cute restaurant with a cute vibe. Loved their patio area. Service: the staff were very friendly, but a bit slow. But then again, I feel like service in Guadalajara is slower in general. Food: the food was tasty from the orange juice, to the breakfast dishes, to the coffee. I ordered the chilaquiles and loved the dish. This is a restaurant I would go back to for sure.

Absolutely awesome place, worth visiting 100%. Usually, I don't go to the same place within a few weeks, as I want to try as many options as possible. That was not the case with Palreal, and I'm glad my rule was broken. We came there with my buddies like 4 times over the 3 days, that's how good it is. Everything from coffee, to sandwiches, to main dishes, to desserts - everything was truly 5*. Same goes for service and ambiance. Highly recommend, and anytime I'm in Guadalajara - I'll be back for sure.

Decor here is very cute. Everything else is overrated :( For 2 people we were quoted a wait time of 25 minutes. Our wait ended up being closer to an hour. :( This would've been fine if the service & food warranted that wait time. Alas it was NOT. Service: Felt like we were bothering our waiter. Had to flag him down for everything. Food: overpriced & mediocre was how I felt leaving the restaurant. So many other options in the area, with better food & better prices. At the end of the day ... would I return? Naw ...

A friend recommended this spot since the ambience is boho chic and has great plate options. It's a busy, spot so be prepared to wait about 30 or so minutes for a seat; luckily they have a bench just outside to wait at. There is indoor and outdoor seating, with the rear of the restaurant is under a canopy, which is a great option for a hot day. The PAL Real plate is the best option here, in my opinion. They have a full coffee bar as well as a full alcohol bar, which makes it a great breakfast or brunch option. The service was inviting and phenomenal.

Great food, friendly staff, and responsible prices. While they have now installed a chain "rope" along the front, seems individual bar seats are usually still available without a wait. A too breakfast choice in Los Arcos for sure!

The photos represent this place very very well. Everything is beautiful. I ate here twice within a few days, the first time to try tortas albondigas (mini, thankfully). It was juicy, lightly spicy and wonderful. The second time I visited, I ordered "holy eggs" with a lovely omelet inside a leaf with nopales? and cheese. The fresh chipotle on the side was perfect. The real show stealer were the white wine ginger cocktails. I could drink those all day!! The servers all spoke plenty of English for us to muddle through, lol. It's on the pricier side compared to the rest of GDL but the quality and ambiance made it seem worthwhile.

Absolutely, one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. First, don't let not speaking Spanish stop you from trying here. I did my best, but the team here was patient and switched to English. (I tried.) Second, the folks here are friendly and helpful. Third, sit in the back in the covered patio area. Beautiful. Tranquil. Fourth, the food. I ordered the Claras de huevos - egg whites and guacamole. OMG. Incredible. Highly recommend. Would eat here again. Would move to Guadalajara to have this on the regular.

You can tell this place is doing something right, because everyone comes here. I ordered a beet juice and vegetable omelette that comes with black beans. Great food superb service and atmosphere. Full of plants and sunlight. What more could you want! Yeah

This restaurant has a nice aesthetic, but the food and drinks are not worth it at all. My party had their red chilaquiles, green chilaquiles, huevos rancheros, and the chicken sandwich. For drinks, we had their cappuccinos and chai latte. The cappuccino was very bland and had a chalky taste to it. I would not recommend it. The iced chai latte was actually good. The chilaquiles and huevos rancheros were decent--I've had better. However, the chicken sandwich was undercooked. When we cut it through the middle you could see it was raw; it had blood. We ended up leaving it on the table as is. When we communicated to the waiter what had happened, they argued that the chef cooks it the same every time so there was no way it was undercooked. I thought it was very unprofessional to respond this way. A quick "sorry for the inconvenience" would have been better. Or at least offer a new sandwich that was thoroughly cooked. Nothing. A member of my party ordered their mimosa with refills. They never came once to give a refill, even though the waiter noticed the glass was empty the whole time. It was just very disappointing service. When we received the check, they charged us for the chicken sandwich and the Mimosa refills. It was not worth the argument so we just payed and left. I would not recommend this place! There are so many better options in Guadalajara!

The chicken Sandwich. Not a fan. Very little chicken and too greasy.

This was our go to coffee/breakfast spot. Great coffee, amazing staff and creative baristas. The biscuit with lomo was my favorite. So flavorful. And the concha's were what seemed like brioche bread. Loved those for sure. Unfortunately the fried chicken sandwich wasn't very good at all.
