Taking advantage of the free swims during Summer, my family and I decided to try this place out having not been before, and I can say it soon became our go to place for a cool down! Whilst there is no onsite parking, there is a parking lot just a 5 minute walk away which is fairly cheap and definitely worth it for a trip here. There's a huge park outside and area to walk around in where the centre is, as well as plenty of eateries if you get hungry after a swim sesh! The swimming pool is fantastic. There's a diving board, slide, swing rope and a hot tub as well as plenty of floaties and balls to play with. It's super fun with family or friends and even though it can get a little crowded, it's really well managed and has loads of space. The slide only runs at certain times so do watch out for that one! The changing rooms are also really nice and clean with plenty of lockers and private spaces. They are mixed. Overall a really great place for a fun day out! read more

"This indoor swimming pool is known for theift" Said the staff that there. My lock was broken off of my locker and all of my personal belongings were stolen. ALONG WITH MY GRANDDAUGHTERS BAG. My purse and wallet and all of my identification were stolen. I reported to the attending staff at the front desk 'they' were unfazed and well aware. They said "It is an ongoing thing" and that I should just wait until everyone leaves, and my bag will show up. Sure enough my bag mysteriously appeared in a bathroom that I had checked, but, no wallet no identification. I totally love it! the place had reopened fairly recently (summer 2021) and offers limited access with lane and leisure swim sessions of 45 minutes. despite necessity of booking or taking chances in a drop in line, overall it is much better experience than before the pandemic (this actually applies to all swimming pools across the city, which were often terribly overcrowded). the water in the large pool is rather on the cool side (which is great on super hot days, but might be a bit chilly on colder days). during leisure swim the smaller shallow pool is also available (a great place for a family swim), while the lane swim is adults only. water is very strongly chlorinated so invest in a chlorine proof swimwear (I had ruined a couple of my affordable swimsuits sadly). there is a music station on (sort of new and classic rock/pop - nice to listen to and unlikely to offend anyone. another important thing to mention is that the change rooms (and showers) are co-ed. read more

They pool is closed for after noon on Mondays and Thursdays. Why? Because they don't have staff!! In long winters when there is nothing to do for kids outside, The only place they can have fun is closed , because the city cant afford a $16/hr staff!!! Great big new aquatic centre in the heart of the ever evolving Regent Park. I love that it's forward thinking to be a unisex space. But it also means you cannot shower after whatever class you may be there for without a bathing suit on. I have no issues with nudity myself and would appreciate a space where I could shower to rinse off the chorline from my body. Instead you have to get dressed go home and then shower before bed. Our class ended at 9pm, didn't get home until 10pm. read more

Being new to Toronto (again) we are so surprised that Toronto offers free admission to swimming pools. One of the best in the city is at Regent Park aquatic centre. This building looks very new. The whole area around it is great for families. Nice green space. Kids playground with soft rubber ground. Inside is even more impressive. The pool is rather small and it does get very crowded on Saturday when we went. The change rooms are large and the universal change room is great for parents and kids. Inside there's lots of great detail. Life vests are readily available for young kids. Floaters are plentiful. There's fountains and sprays going into the pool (not like a splash park though). Best part: the shallow pool is HEATED! So nice. The other deeper pool is not. There's a diving board, swinging rope and even a water slide. The place is surrounded by windows and let's in so much natural light. I still can't believe this is free in Toronto. Only minor negatives is that is gets really busy (too be expected) and the washrooms are a bit dirty: Bring your sandals! read more

I am surprised no one mentioned the bugs (I suppose smaller roaches) in the change rooms. Encountered multiple times especially when the lights are off in the accessible change rooms. I have seen the bugs inside the locker as well. I hope that someone in charge of the pool reads this review and takes care of the infestation. I've swam at so many City pools, I've swam at university pools, I've swam at the Y, but this place knocks all of them out of the water by its sheer amenities alone. There's a swing rope, a water slide, a hot tub, and an entire separate kiddie pool with water features shooting out from the sides. Never knew about the co-ed change room concept until I came here, hesitated at first, but found it to be extremely efficient. There's so many private changing areas, it's super convenient for families and solo swimmers. The only pervasive problem is that theft sometimes happen when it gets busy and valuables are left unattended on the benches on deck, so bring a lock! Last but certainly not least, they have a "women's only swim" for women who are uncomfortable, don't want to, or can't swim with men around or watching them. From I've heard, it's extremely inclusive not just for those who use it for religious reasons but also transwomen who'd otherwise feel judged, or potentially harassed during normal swim hours. read more

We use the pool here on the leisure swimming time. It has kids pool, jacuzzi, dive, slide and rope. The chane room is decent, there are two family change rooms. The design of the building is amazing, I have never came here in summer but the outside when it's snowing iss beautiful while you are in the pool. To me an aquatic centre needs three things - hot tub, sauna, steam room. Regent only has one of these (hot tub/whirlpool) and it wasn't open when I went.. not so good. Overall it's kinda smaller than I expected when looking at it from the outside. I'd probably call it a pool over a aquatic centre. It does have a waterslide though. It's kinda cold also, the children's area pool was running at 32C or so according to the life guard and the air was pretty cold. I guess that's fine for the older kids but our little one got cold. For a new building I expected ionized water instead of chlorine - my eyes are burning! It's nice that it's free admission and it's right by the transit stop so that's good. read more

A fantastic place to go swimming! Bright and modern, the architecture and attention to detail and design makes this community center aquatic center a standout. There are windows everywhere, and with a large football field in the foreground looking west, along with a skyline of the downtown core, the view is incredible. The change rooms have benefited from an open design aesthetic and lack the typical labyrinth feel that some pools have. The overall cleanliness was also impressive. I came here yesterday with my son as he has been bugging me to take him to Douglas Snow Aquatic Centre but I was able to lure him to try this centre because everyone is saying its new and has nice pool specially for younger children and also adults. My son's feedback (his 11) ....it's ok, the slide is boring, the pool are ok too but he wish he brought we brought the whole family with us so its more fun. he like to come back with the someone but not alone. I didn't go in the water with him. I stayed in the observation deck. My feed back ... The staff are super friendly and the facilities is super clean, although it's super loud because they play music (they have to have a better speaker though). We couldn't hear the lifeguard when she's trying to warn the kids to not run on the deck. I just wish that when adults visit the Aquatic centre, that they don't go in the water with their street clothes on ( especially in jeans). I don't believed these people are ignorant at all but in this case they are. I respect everyone whatever their beliefs/religion but if you don't want others to see your skin, then wear a t-shirt and spandex or something that's not from your all day clothes with sweats and body odor. One lady even argued with the lifeguard because she let her kids go in the water in their underwear, and she went to the water in her jeans, the water is up to her waist. I hope that the centre will put a restriction on the pool, " STREET CLOTHES ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE POOL". read more

Today was my first time ever swimming here and it was AMAZING! I work with a young boy with autism, and we've been swimming at Jimmie Simpson for the past couple of weeks. One of the lifeguards there recommended Regent Park Aquatic Center for us. At first I was a little weary because my client sometimes doesn't like new places and will act out if so, but I decided to give it a try! Am I ever glad! First off, the whole entire place is extremely clean! The change rooms are tidy and big. The only downfall is you have to bring your own locks from home for the lockers. They don't have lockers with keys, BUT they do let us bring belongings on deck which is great. Also, the staff are just simply amazing! Everyone was so accepting and welcoming. My little guy could be difficult sometimes, and the lifeguards were understanding and just great. He actually cried when we had to leave! He felt so accepted and loved. All the lifeguards remembered his name, and took the time out of their work to come and personally introduce themselves to us. I thought that was pretty special :) I strongly recommend!! read more

Recently opened, the Regent Park Aquatic Centre is the Mercedes-Benz of public swimming pools in the GTA. It's jaw-droppingly gorgeous for a public facility. The first time I came across this shining beacon, my friend and I were traveling west bound on Dundas street. To our right lay the mournful scene of a recent casualty of Toronto's shootings, camera vans everywhere. On the left, a sleek and powerful facade of zinc, cedar paneling and glass juts out of the distance. Through the exposed glass windows one could make out swimmers frolicking happily in the large pools. It was an odd, surreal juxtaposition especially given Regent Park's historical trappings, but my attention was easily captivated. I knew I had to swim there. Inside, the facilities are no different. The space is bright, open and light. The front staff are friendly and there are often a couple at a time to service the patrons. What might surprise most pool goers however, are the universal change rooms. There is no segregation between the sexes so families and transgendered folks can all access the stark white and airy change rooms equipped with private cubicles for changing. There are two large change rooms but my quibble is that there are only six private cubicles in each. However, one will find plenty of lockers with varying volume to use, provided one brings their own lock. Another thoughtful touch are the hair dryers: arrayed at different heights on the walls for swimmers of all sizes. The fancy schmancy futuristic designs does not mean the architects have skimped on the pragmatic stuff. Let's talk pools. The centre features a 25 meter lap pool, leisure pool for the kiddies, warm water pool with therapeutic jets, tarzan rope, diving boards and, AND! a sizable water slide. It's an aquatic bounty for pool goers. I like going for my lane swims which will set you back three fifty but I have also enjoyed my visits during the leisure swims. Naturally, the leisure pools will be teeming with kids and parents who will find it hard to resist the sprinklers and umbrella fountain. On the other side, the lane pool is split up into quadrants for various uses: a shallow end, a medium deep end, a deep end for diving and a deep end for users of the tarzan rope. Get up on one of the starting blocks, grab hold, swing, and bombs away!. I have to sheepishly admit I found both the tarzan rope and the water slide to be quite fun despite my adult age. Regent Park has a background as a marginalized social-housing neighborhood teeming with drugs, violence and poverty. This aquatic centre is just part of many revitalization efforts for the area. I came here during the summer with my younger brother because I wanted to check out the facilities. My first impression was how big the place was. Placed in the middle of the construction of new condos and old houses this brand new aquatic centre definitely stands out. At first when you walk to the main desk area you already feel the openness of the centre. There is a piano and I believe a room that wasn't occupied at all. The change rooms are HUGE and long. What is interesting about this centre is that the change rooms are unisex. I find it really awkward only because I've been conditioned to using a women's change room. But I guess this is revolutionary in a way to maximize the usage of space and allow more to enjoy the aquatic centre. I love that there's a slide, whirlpool, water falls, Tarzan swing and a diving board. For those who have children there is a seperate area for younger children so that they aren't overwhelmed by the big children running around. There's music that plays that keeps the atmosphere lively. This centre also offers free class like aquafit! So if you're in the area and have free time definitely check this place out and enjoy it! -CL PS the only problem about this aquatic centre is that it doesn't offer parking and that you'll have to find it on the side streets which might not be ideal. read more

This place is pretty clean, and has 2 very large family dressing rooms. There's family change rooms inside and lockers available to store you stuff (bring your own lock). The pool itself is really large and has sections of people of all ages. There was a waterside, and ropes for swinging and diving for older children and the young at heart. I think this pool is great. I have been going to the lane swim in the mornings before work. They have three sections of lanes: slow, medium, and fast and most mornings the hot tub is one for a nice cool down. I have also just been to my first aquafit class and I loved it. I went to the ladies only class, but they also have coed classes. The instructor was fun and enthusiastic and I got a great workout too. The range of ladies was from 20 to 60 years old and all levels of fitness were represented. I highly recommend these drop-in activities! read more

The pool's not open very late (I prefer to swim after dinner), and there are only a few showers in a unisex changeroom. Which means there's no time to even quickly shampoo or wash after a swim - if you can even get a spot in the showers - which means I end up with chlorine damaged hair and skin. The coed changeroom is a little awkward. It's also very busy, as it's a free pool; lanes are packed and you have to show up 30-60 minutes ahead of aquafit classes to score a place. So, unfortunately, the whole setup is too impractical to make the amazing pool and great classes useful to me. read more

This place is good for kids. It has a nice water slide, a wading pool, a swing rope.and a small diving board (for older kids). The change rooms are unisex and I guess it was designed so that families could stick together. It solved the problem of say.. a dad taking his young daughter swimming and having to worry about leaving her alone in the women's changing room or brining her into the men's changing room. I think trans people are also comfortable in the unisex toilets. The only thing that I did not like was that the place had no individual shower stalls so you couldn't really wash/shower properly. It was also a bit weird to soap up in front of an entire audience. The shower area is completely open and exposed to the swimming pool. I did not see the practicality of the open, all-glass concept. Anyone from the road can look into the changing rooms and the swimming pool area. But because the pool also has an all-female swim session, they have to invest in blinds to cover ALL the glass windows so that no one can look at the women swimming in the pool . The all-glass concept is just not practical. The pool is heavily chlorinated, more than other places I've been to. The place has lockers but you must bring your own lock. read more

There are three shower spouts at the entrance to the pool, so there is absolutely no privacy and you can't properly wash away the chlorine after a swim. What were they thinking? Great pool, very well-designed (ledges along the sides to stand on, recessed handrails too), and exceedingly clean. Had to be at least 15 lifeguards on duty while I was there, too. The universal change rooms were surprising. You may or may not like them, but there are an ample number of private stalls available too. Also, all the lockers are fully functional(!), so if you're concerned about your stuff you can bring your own lock. Oh, and the showers were a bit cold, but it helped keep people moving... Best of all? FREE! I went expecting to pay $3-$5, but they waved me right in! I don't know what the full deal is so you may want to bring some cash just in case, but still, FREE! read more

Good modern facility, lousy management. They have problem with theft and picking locks in the locker room area, but no signs are actually posted to warn the visitors. In my first visit, I was informed by another visitor about this and when I asked about it at the front desk the guy had a dismissive attitude, like it's normal and it happens everywhere. My second visit the following week I found out that the pool is actually closed and the dismissive guy who gave me the schedule failed to inform me about this! I bring my daughter's for women's swimming hours every Saturday at 5.30 pm -7.30pm. Most of the time we found, there are some problem with the swimming pool, either the water is too cold or one of the pool is closed or , shower water is too hot/cold! The women swimming program is until 7.30 and kids slide is always closed , sometime they open it around 7.00 pm! Their is full of youth worker's ,who has no service experience or respect to visitors, very rude with kids and parents. This is totally disrespect for Muslim women because this program visitors are mostly Muslim and I know they don't care about how we fell ! It's free program!!!!!! read more

Fantastic Pool. Great options as noted. The mixed changerooms are very efficient and clean. Even with pool very busy with families we were able to find a big room for ourselves and 4 kids. Some people will need to adjust and tone down the paranoia a lot. There are tons of lockers to avoid petty theft. Your risk here is no different than any other public venue. The change cubicles are private and secure but if you have a heart attack you will be at as much risk of being undiscovered as you might be in your parked car, sleeping at home or in a public bathroom anywhere. There are lots of guys around without shirts however. Very strange in a pool! Nonetheless I felt as safe and secure as in any other public venue but as noted it is easier for all. Having been a dad taking his daughter to such places it's nice to see something more inclusive and respectful of privacy at the same time. Showers are plentiful and convenient for all ages. Of course you don't need to be naked to get a good shower and a follow up shower at home would be smart in any event. The chlorine is as expected very high. read more

Visited again, with my sister & her family, which felt much safer than going alone with my son. I had told her all about this fantastic pool, and braced her for the change room situation. She came all the way from Orillia and our plan was to swim with the kids for the afternoon. We got to swim for about 10-15 minutes before the entire pool was shut down about 3 hours ahead of schedule. Might be wise to make sure you have a backup plan, in case this happens to you. read more

Beautifully designed swimming pool. Came during leisure time and there was plenty of things for young kids to play with. For lockers you will need to bring your own. I bought a lock from the Shoppers across the street. There is even a hot tub. The is a large wavy water slide, a rope you can swing and drop into the water. Would definitely come back again. My partner and I have been coming here for about two and a half weeks now for their lane swim drop-in sessions. The facilities are pretty impressive. The building itself is brand new and modern looking. The vaulted ceilings are tall and the various skylight features provide a lot of natural light. Change rooms are community co-ed style but there are many private rooms with doors that provide that added privacy. Lane swim takes place in the bigger of the two main pools. Since lane swim sessions can be as short as an hour-and-a-half it can get pretty chaotic in certain lanes. I have no qualms with the aquatic center itself, but I'll like to see more action taken by the lifeguards to make sure that everyone is in the right lane for their speed. If you come on less busy days like on long weekends, or sunday evenings, the pool is a dream to swim in. There is also a sizable hottub with many jets for massage that's nice and relaxing after a long swim. Despite the abundance of people I can't complain because all the facilities are free and the building is quite clean. Definitely worth checking out. read more

This is the nicest public pool I have ever been to. It is very bright and modern, and has doors that open onto a large patio which I imagine will be amazing in the summer and a slide for kids to play on. I'm not sure what there is to complain about in the change rooms. They are a good size and are always spotless. I should note that there are some shirtless men inside and outside the change room areas but hopefully one day the city will find a way to avoid that at all public pools. The place looks nice enough. But every time I go, they take turns between having either the slide open, or the therapeutic hot tub area-never both at the same time. I asked, and they said it was because they did not have enough life guards. Excuse me? A how many million dollar facility and you can't pay $14/hr for 10 hours on the weekends? And the change rooms are filthy and crowded and most disgustingly of all - Co Ed. Again what? Do the even get how uncomfortable that is? Then, once the pool closes, they pull down this metal garage door thing like they are locking us in, and into a tiny shower area (like 8 shower heads for I'm guessing 200 people)!!! The hair dryers are finicky and only work if you stand in an exact specific location-if you move around at all like say as in to dry your hair or hands, they shut off-I can rarely get more than 30 seconds of hot air. They just seem to treat people like cattle in my opinion. No real consideration for the comfort of anyone. read more

This pool is AMAZING! Perfect for adults and children of all ages. Every part of the design of this building and the pool and even the change area is perfect and carefully thought out. Our kids swam for two hours and could have stayed for another 2. So much fun, so clean, so bright, very attentive lifeguards, water toys for toddlers, tarzan rope, diving board, great slide that is perfect for kids of all ages and fun for adults too. The change area in particular is cleverly designed with safety and inclusiveness in mind. I loved the open and welcoming layout and the heated individual change rooms that are private but spacious and well lit with top and bottom openings so you can hear your children if they are calling to you. What a smart idea to build this beautiful pool in the heart of a community being revitalized and give this gift to all the people who live nearby and farther afield. Bravo. read more
