When you arrive at the change area, you check-in with security to ensure you have booked the correct time slot (cannot have more than 25 skaters at any one time). The change area is separate into 6 tables to slap on your skates and enjoy the well groomed surface. The rink is more a square than the typical recto-oval we are all too familiar with. The organic nature this rink takes on, slight incline from the entrance to the natural obstacle course of bumps adds to the overall feel when enjoying the fresh air as you are doing laps and hit the unsuspecting speed bump to wake you up a bit. The staff are very friendly and love the high tech Zamboni that is deployed at the end of each 45 minute skating interval

Stumbled upon the gym because of their weekly Monday drop-in run club which was free…read more Heard about their classes and decided to try the Run Camp which was ran by Coach Alastair and felt that it helped with my running muscles and also introduce me to exercises that I would have never done on my own. I also tried a metcon class and boy did it kick my ass. I normally go to the gym a few days a week but the class was a great combination of strength and cardio which made me sore for the entire weekend. Great classes and even better people!

It seemed like the perfect place to re-boot my fitness journey after having been away from the gym for sooooo long. In addition to personal training, I was intrigued with their option of classes and a Run Club, which meant I could still keep going to the gym between my Personal Training sessions when I felt ready. That's how I met Phil, who has been so positive and motivating that he ACTUALLY makes me look forward to working out. He made me feel so welcome from day one and has been so patient and accommodating as I worked through injuries and other health issues. He's gotten me stronger to the point even my Physiotherapist said that I didn't need to see him so often because Phil was doing such a great job! And now I look forward to continuing my fitness journey with Alastair! Who is equally as positive and encouraging and I'm sure will get me to my fitness goals. (You really can't go wrong with any of the trainers here). I can't speak to the classes or the Run club as I haven't officially attended any of them, but seeing them all motivate each other makes this gym feel like a family. Can't wait to be a part of it!

All's well at Chinguacousy Wellness…read more I went here for the first time a couple weeks ago and actually had a great time. My gf took me here because her pass at Goodlife expired and tbh my expectations were low but this place made quite an impression on me. All the gym equipment is in the middle of the room and there is a track that goes around it. It's neat how they managed to incorporate a track like that because now you never have to wait for a treadmill. At the corners of the track, there are spaces to do stretches/mattress exercises. The best part is the huge windows that allow lots of natural light to come in. The one thing I didn't like about the Goodlife in BCC is that it is in a basement and there are zero windows. So it was great to walk into Wellness Centre and be able to absorb that vitamin D while working out. To top it off, they lemon flavoured water that you can choose to drink if you get tired of regular water! Yeah, I really liked this place. The only negative would be that it's still a pretty small gym compared to the Goodlife gym nearby (main competitor). The great set up of the equipment kind of makes up for the smaller space but I find there's a bit more wait time for the equipment during peak hours than at Goodlife. Overall fantastic gym, I was impressed.

Just signed up for a one month gym membership to try out River Grove before I commit to a longer…read moremembership. The fitness facility has gone under renovations previously so that's why I chose this community centre over the other dated locations. All of the equipment is pretty new and there's a variety of cardio machines, free weights, and resistance machines. I would assume that the facility would be more crowded during rush hours but luckily I usually go during the afternoons. They also have a group fitness room and several squash courts below. I definitely have to say that River Grove offers much more for a cheaper price than Anytime Fitness. Another plus is that they have several membership options if you can't commit to a year. The con so far is the uncleanliness of the change room. So far I'm liking this fitness centre for the price I am paying.

One for cardio, which is full of treadmills, elliptical, biking station, and stair master. TVs are station in front so you can keep yourself occupied if you didn't bring your own music. Two is the lifting area. There's squat racks and plenty of room for barbell exercises. There's a number of workout benches for dumbbell workout routines. Problem is that after dinner on a weekday, this place is full. High school and university swarm this place around 8:00pm to 10pm, so avoid it if you can otherwise you'll be waiting forever. Three is the class area. They have yoga and step class here. I've attended the step class twice before and it is intense. This location has a lot of other things to offer, such as a swimming pool and classes. You'll have to look it up ahead of time and register. I don't see myself going to another gym any time soon.

The Goodlife Fitness managment does not want to spend money at this club location. The swimming…read morepool is being shuttered. The steam room for both men and women has not worked for two months. There is only one shower in the men's change room that works. The televisions seldom works and you only see CP 24 on the odd tv. The Manager is pleasant but he cannot do much because the GoodLife Head Office is determined not to spend money. This club is in an area with many seniors who enjoyed the pool, but it does not matter. Head office will not spend the money to fix the pool. Members have not been able to use the pool for four years. If you look in the pool area you can see the pool and remember the good times. So sad

Also, there were some outdoor performances. The weather was ok, just too cold I felt. There were lot of volunteers to help out. It was a long lineup for the free popcorn, my kid enjoyed the Lego station so much. The swimming pool has a big dolphin, which also attracted my daughter too. I think I'm going to tear up writing this. Going here is a walk down memory lane. I've been here…read moresince I was a tot. First learned how to float from my dad during "Leisure Swim." Then the Aquaquest classes that were each kid's rite of passage. At one point it became cool to bike here, hang out, and hit up the awesome yellow big kids' slide. Then you stopped coming as a teenager 'cause Wonderland and the beach were cooler. And then one day I came back for the Lane Swim to cure my saaaadd, academia-induced neck pain. I had become an adult. Not much has changed over the years. The giant "Richmond Hill" flag still hangs at the front of the pool. The ceiling here was likely exceptionally high and sunny for '90s standards, and is still impressive today. I *think* the "big kids' slide" is still the same one from childhood and it hasn't aged a day in 20 years. Change rooms are large and clean and let you avoid people. The staff are nice, it doesn't cost a fortune to come here, and their public lane swim hours are good (approx. 11am-1pm and 9-10pm on weekdays, 11-12:30 on weekends). The pool at 25m is standard for a community centre with a generous deep end, the warm pool is equally fun and spacious. My only complaint would be the narrowness of the small lane, and that the hairdryers in the women's washrooms are way too high for the 99% Asian demographic. Guess the town of R-Hill hadn't anticipated this turnout, lawls. 5 stars because this pool was already neat during its day and has kept up beautifully over the years. I've visited other R-Hill pools like the Centennial, where staff are rude a.f., or the Wave Pool, which is fun if you're under 12 and intolerable if you're over. I'll hit up a few more pools before finalizing the verdict, but for now Bayview Hill remains a first-rate spot to get your exercise in.
