I really like Shores--my emergency option when my usual vet in Mechanicsburg is unavailable. In my…read moreexperience the staff has been caring and compassionate in a very high stress environment: pet emergency care. You don't find yourself at Shores unless things are "not good" for your furry family member. Today's visit was for my little guy who was having a non life-threatening issue--but one that couldn't wait several days for his usual vet. On arriving, the receptionist (Patti) nicely and honestly informed us of an expected multi-hour wait time, which gave us a chance to call our usual vet to see if they could fit him in. After waiting maybe an hour, we were seen by a nurse/tech (Coral) who got the process started in placed us in an exam room where we could free our guy from his cat carrier. After maybe 30 minutes, Coral whisked him away for an exam (in another room) with Dr Law. Dr Law informed us of various possibilities and range of treatment options. Coral and Dr Law were wonderful with our little guy and we were pleased by their care and compassion. Things to know: first, Shores is an EMERGENCY practice so you will pay more for that kind of 24/7 availability. Second, as an emergency practice they encounter plenty of situations with difficult circumstances. The facility is quite nice and has appropriate private rooms but heartbroken pet families aren't uncommon. I think the staff does a nice job of being supportive and compassionate in those circumstances. Unfortunately, I know firsthand from the awful task of asking Shores to assist in arranging cremation for a prior furry family member who died very unexpectedly at home. The folks were great though I could barely speak due to my grief.

Over a two-day period, this clinic performed multiple high-cost procedures, including an initial…read moreX-ray (recommended a second X-ray), and an abdominal ultrasound to identify the underlying issue. Following these tests, the clinic stated they "couldn't rule anything out" and recommended invasive exploratory surgery. Based on our medical records, the diagnostic evaluation omitted a standard Canine Parvovirus test (such as a CPV ELISA or Fecal PCR). The test was entirely absent from both the reported lab results and the written list of differential diagnoses, despite our dog presenting with severe hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. In our opinion, omitting a basic, rapid fecal test was a critical gap in protocol. While the clinic pointed to elevated white blood cell counts, secondary sepsis and inflammation in severe viral enteritis can also elevate cell counts, making a dedicated viral test essential. We believe that wasting critical time without ruling out Parvovirus deprived our dog of prompt, targeted care and contributed to a tragic, potentially preventable loss.

So I hate to do this. But ever since Greenlin took over this location I have been beyond…read moredisappointed. When it was Keystone, I paid $5000 for a two week board and train. The results were amazing! We have a 1 1/2 year old Boxer puppy...by definition he is a spaz. At Keystone, they welcomed him with open arms and understood he was just a baby. Once Greenlin took over, it went downhill FAST. We paid about $275 for a daycare package. The staff decided he was too energetic and required him to have more training. This cost us $50 EVERY SINGLE TIME he is there. They don't deduct from the package, this is further out of pocket. So, we pay $50 per visit for him to be on a leash and nowhere near the other dogs. A staff member told us they believe this has been blown way out of proportion and that he doesn't need additional training. They also say if it were their dog, they would go elsewhere. This speaks volumes to me. He's a freaking puppy without a mean bone in his body! My husband called and left a message asking for a refund of the daycare package WE PAID FOR AND HAVE NOT RECEIVED. Can you guess if we got a call back? Of course we didn't. So, guess what? They are losing our business and I will be sure to let everyone I know how we and our puppy have been treated. They rob you of your original $ and look at you as a cash cow. You won't be looking at our puppy (or us) as cash cows anymore. Extremely pissed off and disappointed in this place! Avoid at all costs unless you want to be ripped off like us.
