It's hard to know where to start with this place. Being someone that has lived here for almost 5 years I began taking my pug there after word of mouth.It's clear to see now that they are doing their best under new management to fluff their ratings. Under the previous owner it used to be the best Bang for your buck. Now, pet authority is known for getting what you pay for. My pug used to love going in there. She never had a problem she was always happy and she never seemed afraid. However, over the last a good part of almost a year my pug has been extremely scared to go in there to the point where she doesn't want to get out of the car. When questioned why our pug started acting a certain way we were told it was because she didn't like the blow dryer. But it didn't make sense because she was acting as though she was being mistreated. Not to mention. For being such a long time customer recently it doesn't matter if you call from 5 minutes to 10 minutes later this place will not know who you are. They don't keep up with their clientele because they simply don't care. I got hounded for $1.86 after being told a month prior that I would be okay to just purchase the certificate (with tax included) to use the following month so I didn't have to worry about owing extra. This is what did it for me. Cassandra acted like it was going to break the bank or that my dog would've been kept if I didn't pay. I was pretty taken back that they were going to argue over such a small amount when I was already given their word. Multiple times (every time we had interaction) they were told what numbers to contact yet they kept calling THE WRONG PERSON! They will find hidden sneaky ways to charge you extra even when you tell them you don't want a certain service and then act like it's an accident that you'll just shrug off. My dog used to come out smelling like flowers and now it's just wet dog, nothing special. They also don't always have the dogs in separate kennels like the pervious owner did for safety and precaution. At any one time one animal could attack another. Of course, the new management wouldn't be at fault. This place also wants to argue about how everything bad now is due to the previous owner but yet they won't up own up to anything else unless it paints them in a good light. If that's how they feel. Then they shouldn't be riding on 30 years of history when they didn't help make it that way. They're right, we are in a pandemic. So now more than ever you should be grateful for the business you do have. Very many local places have lost everything. Yes, we are in a pandemic and people are being more cautious about how and where they spend their money. From the way that my pug has been acting to their dishonesty with their prices I have decided to go elsewhere. For just a few dollars more I feel safe with the new place I am taking my dog. And it's just about a few miles more than before. I did a meet and greet with these new people that are also a local small business which was A very big part of what I was looking for is making sure that I was supporting a small business 2nd to my dogs safety and well being. They've have only spoken to the new pet groomers a handful of times and they already know who I am and who my dog is. They even let me tour their facility and when I took my pup and there even with the vacuums running she wasn't scared at all! Don't be cheap and fall for the low prices and false 5 star rating of this place. That reputation is belongs to the previous owner. The previous owner did a fantastic job. Your animals are worth more to be seen elsewhere and you deserve peace of mind. read more

Yaaaaa! I'm from out of town and travel with my Yorkie everywhere. The chiropractor I see when in town is across the st and glad I found this place! I have had her nails trimmed here several times. Dudley's "personal" groomer Jim is aware of his one sensitive paw (due to surgery) & takes special care. Bully breeds like my boy can get over stimulated in a grooming environment but Jim is excellent at handling him & keeping him calm. read more

Always gets my dog in the day after I call. Always does what I ask and explains what needs to be done when I drop her off so there are no "haircut surprises" when I return to pick her up. Very consistent and my fur baby enjoys going here. I saw a review with someone complaining they walked in at 3:30 to have their dog groomed when the place closes at 4. It takes more than a half hour to have a dog groomed.It takes them 3 hours to groom my big dog and I'm so thankful they take their time on her instead of rushing. read more

I have been here a few times and have had good experiences here. I have Miniature Schnauzers and am pretty particular about the cuts they get. They are always friendly and happy to see the dogs and myself. Its always a pleasure going here. Just book in advance cause they are always busy!! read more

This was my second time using pet authority and both me and my pup had a good experience. My puppers is a rescue and he can get very uncomfortable quickly but he's never had problem here both times. They trim his nails, shave his pad areas and do a wash. He has short hair so he doesn't need much, no heavy grooming. The staff I've worked with has always been very pleasant and great with the pup. There prices are great too! 18$ for my visit. We usually go just a few times a year when his nails need trimmed. They do just offer a walk in nail trimming service, but I figure if I'm making him go for that, I might as well get him the full spa treatment. read more

My small Pomeranian puppy Cali goes every week and comes out looking and smelling great everytime! On our first visit I was a little worried about her being handled because she just had her cast removed from a healed fracture. They took excellent care of her so we've been coming back ever since. I always ask for Erica. My fur baby seems to really like her. Very affordable as well. read more

I have had positive experiences with this groomer, but my dogs are short coated and have very simple requirements. For the most part I get nail trimmings done here, and they are very careful with my older whippet, who has joint pain in her hips. I have had the dogs washed here a few times and never been displeased. read more

They will groom your pet without an appointment but you better get there fast. We called at around 3 today to get our pet groomed. The guy on the phone told us they groomed til 4. We got there a half hour later at 3:30 to find out that he had let the groomer leave already. He said he didn't know we were coming today. That was the point of not taking appointments? He told us there was nothing he could do and gave us a $5 free grooming coupon as if that's compensation. Any pet owner who has ever rushed home from work to stuff their unwilling pet into a carrier and race across busy town knows what I mean. They would get zero stars but my wife liked their black cat. Some poor management skills going on there. Either make appointments or be there during advertised hours. What if we were just one of a dozen customers that guy turned away today? It's not like it was a Friday...it was a Wednesday. Guessing this happens a lot there. Not recommended. Make an appointment somewhere reliable. read more

Our previous groomer retired and a friend referred us here. Her family has been going here for years. Since we have an extra large golden doodle with very curly fur that sheds and mats easily, he can be a challenge. They asked questions about how I wanted him trimmed and any issues or concerns I had. I would not recommend this business. The owner doesn't care about anyone other than himself, and it's obvious in his work ethic. I have gone to this shop a few times, because they are conveniently located, but will never go again. The owner, Thom, was there but not really there for work, one of the groomers had to walk away from their table to help me since Thom was "working" but not paying any attention to his clients. The groomers are decent, but this establishment is under terrible ownership. Do not go here. read more

They are the best groomers in Central PA! Our dogs always look great, the staff is very friendly and they treat your dogs like their own. Tara just groomed our flat coated retreiver and found a huge mass on the inside of his hind leg. This is not an area that we pet, we took Zinger to hte Vet and he had surgery today for two fatty lumps to be removed. Thank You, Thank You to Pet Authority and staff for giving us this information, you have saved his life! If you love your animals please reconsider!!! My dogs were brought in to get their nails done as a well as a bath. It was their doggy day to be spoiled. The first occasion happen with my 3 year old pitbull. When I picked her up we brought her to the car and I got concerned when she kept picking up her paw. I not only noticed her nail bleeding, but her eye was blood shot red and she couldn't open it completely. I went back to tell them and they acted as if it wasn't a big deal. They did not offer to wash out her eye I had to ask for a wet cloth and they gave me a dirty one. On the second occasion I brought My pitbull and hound mix who is 12 years old. When I picked them up I took them for a nice long walk in which I had to cut short. I regret not checking them once I left the store. My hound dog's foot covered in blood because his nail was cut too short. I was not notified yet again. My girlfriend and I have a first aid kit for the dogs in the car to where we had to carry our 60 pound dog to the car and clean his foot. The bleeding was not stopping, he was in a lot of pain, and my pitbull was nervous. My pitbull's harness was cut in a straight line under her arm. Since my girlfriend and I both work full time jobs, studying for school, and my girlfriend's grandmother is in the ICU dying of cancer it's more than an understatement that we were busy. Two weeks later we returned to tell the owner. The owner accused me of lying, yelled at me, tried to intimidate me, and wouldn't even let me talk to the groomer who cut the harness. I was concerned that maybe my dog had to be cut out in a hurry and was concerned why something so pointy was close to my dog. My dogs do not bite their harness or anything else besides toys. The owner was unprofessional, rude, and my girlfriend and I even witness a small dog having their neck and head pulled because they wouldn't stay still during a hair cut. If you love your animals please take them some where else. Pet authority is cheap for a reason...they don't care about their animals. I can't believe I left my animals there alone in that cruel place. read more
