    Canadian Breakfast with the Works!
    Sandra D.

More a 3 1/2 star than a 3. PiP is well located on the waterfront of Coolangatta and was a popular spot during the Cooly Rocks On Festival. We had breakfast here on the two mornings we were at the festival. On the first morning I had Belgian Waffles with Strawberries and Icecream and on the second visit I enjoyed the Canadian Breakfast. This is a great spot for people watching, the service was pretty good consiering the crowds of people waiting to be fed. The waffles and pancakes were tasty and fresh. The coffee was pretty good too. On both occassions we were blessed with wonky tables which was a little annoying, but other than that it was a reasonable experience all round. It will more than likely be on our list of places to go again next year.

This was a Works Canadian Brekky. Sorry, I eated it. It was to good to leave just sitting there.

Decided on this place for breakfast with the wife and two kids under five. This place is all about the pancakes, obviously. And the pancakes are very good. My wife thought they were a bit modgey, but I didn't find that with mine. I had the Canadian Works, which is two eggs, generous bacon, pan caramelised pineapple and banana. Wife had the standard Canadian (only one egg and no fried fruit). Kids had the short stack kids serve and kids Canadian. Both came with juice. Mum and dad had bottomless coffee, which was surprisingly good for drip filter (writes this espresso addict). All in all, it was a great brekky. Service was fast, and the staff were doing all they could to speed up our order taking. The menu is huge, so if you are indecisive, I would go elsewhere. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served. Other savoury items are available. It's a bit of an all-rounder.

The food looked good however pancakes were really doughy. Bacon was over cooked and tasteless and our side dishes came out way after we had all finished. Wouldn't go back. A real shame as it was recommended to us by a friend.

I would return but only if I was being a doting uncle spoiling the nieces and nephews again. This place had so much potential but failed to deliver on my expectations. The service was attentive and friendly but that is where it stopped. The coffee was insipid and what made it worse was that it was cold which was very disappointing. I ordered the Canadian with the works everything was on the plate as described on the menu but it just didn't quite hit the mark. It's hard to explain but every element was a little lack lustre .... It was an average, clinical and boring plate that could have been so much better with just a little more effort. The venue appeared to be popular with the kids and the simplicity of the meals would no doubt appeal to children's palates more than the adults. My 4 year old nephew appeared to enjoy his kids Canadian breakfast.

    CRAZY!!! Love this!!

This place was surprising! Thought service was kinda uncomfortable and slow. We used the $25 (Groupon for $50 worth of food) I order the Iced chocolate (as pictured) talk about American sized portions and the pancakes yep fresh fluffy DELICIOUS I seriously crossed a line coming here HUGE sugar overload!! Definitely a treat and well worth it! We went over the voucher by .49c and they actually asked for it? Ha that's a first... but hey u gotta make money right!?

It is what it is - a paradise of pancakes. Although there are mains and crepes and other items on the menu, the pancakes are their specialty. Ordered a chicken bbq crepe which had more of a curry taste. It wasn't the traditional crepe, more a hearty lasagne. A filling serving size with chips and salad. Bbq crepe was followed by fluffly buttermilk pancakes served with candied blueberries, whipped cream and vanilla ice cream. Absolutely delish! Enough to share for two. The place has novelty air balloon booths for seating, great for the kids. Ambience isn't anything fancy and the clientele just the same. Total cost was $43 for a mediocre experience. Nothing to complain about, but nothing worth bragging.

Similar to Pancakes on the Rocks in Sydney. Big portions and great pancakes. No healthy or gluten free options though.

Great service, fluffy pancakes, served up as requested. Food came out super fast, was the same for other tables around us. Service like this is rare. Coming back!

Pretty good "American" pancakes ;) We also had ice cream with breakfast which was good. The hot air balloon atmosphere is also cute!

Don't ever let anyone tell you pancakes are only for breakfast. They are great for lunch too! Savoury all day breakfast pancakes and crepes on the menu but I went for sweet. I ordered the devils delight. I initially struggled choosing as I would find the topping I liked (chocolate) but it would come with chocolate pancakes as well. Too much chocolate, even for me. To my delight I was able to substitute chocolate for buttermilk at no extra cost. I believe it is $1.50 per pancake to substitute the other way. The pancakes were thick, warm, fluffy and had that unmistakable fresh pancake smell. Yes I did sniff them first to check. The topping of cream, chocolate ice cream, fresh strawberries and chocolate sauce was heaven! Plenty of sauce to eat with pancake and dip my strawberries. The service was fast and the menu is very well priced.

Does service even exist here?…read more I usually don't like to give bad reviews, but Pancake Manor definitely needs improvement. I came to Pancake Manor with a friend after needing to satisfy a long craving for some pancakes. The food is generally quite delicious, and the sides go well; however, the service leaves a lot to desire. We sat down and looked at the menu to make our choices. When we decided what we were going to order and the respective sides we wanted we struggled in getting anyone to come over and serve us. It wasn't a busy day, the restaurant only had about a third capacity, we weren't sitting in an ambiguous spot (right across from the main drinks area), nor was there a lack of staff. Staff just couldn't notice us. Staff would walk by and my friend would gesture for service but nothing happened. Eventually, we questioned whether table service existed and my friend then went to the payment counter to place an order. A staff member then came to take our order. The food came out quickly and, with the exception to the garlic bread (which wasn't as crisp as I hoped to to be), was delicious. Unfortunately, that is the only nice thing I can really say. The staff forgot our drinks order and I had to go up to the counter to remind them of our drinks. Furthermore, when we asked for water we were told we needed to get it ourselves (no problem with that). The person who I was with went to the places were glasses were kept to pour water but there was nothing there. We didn't raise anything to the store because we didn't want to make a fuss. Eventually after a good 15 minutes someone managed to notice that glasses were missing/yet to be cleaned and replaced the supply. The next problem was that after filling one glass there wasn't enough water.... After that, we didn't need anymore "service" and the meal was okay. It's a shame that what could have been a lovely meal could easily be spoiled by the poor service. I might visit again, but I won't hold expectations too high for now.

I like the taro, red bean or green tea although they do have more adventurous flavours such as coconut and corn. One pancake cost less than $1 and is the perfect afternoon snack. Personally, I think the price is a little cheap given they are actually pretty filling and tasty to boot.
