The food here was very good and the service was impeccable. We had the pizza and ribs with a salad on the side. The ribs were perfectly fall off the bone done and just the right amount of sauce. The Avenue has alcoholic Ginger Beer and Espresso Martinis ON TAP. It's like they never want me to leave! Came here with family and cousin. Kids both ordered kids Cheeseburgers while adults had pasta and rump steak (on special for only $18!!). Food was delivered quickly and was generally excellent. The prawn linguini was delicious but the steaks were a little over-cooked (more medium than medium rare) but All in all, the staff were friendly and super helpful and the overall experience was excellent. read more

Best food on the Gold Coast.. And fairly non-expensive, if I must say. Went here on a whim (no reviews looked up although I was so bummed when I got back to the hotel and there was a 20% discount for yelp check-ins..) Anyways, try their dry hard ciders, specifically the apple one: pairs well with food or raw oysters. The 'naked' raw oysters were so fresh. The next night: we tried a different place and the Oysters were more expensive, but not fresh at all.. So this is the spot.. It also had a lovely presentation. We also got salads (the tom yum: it was okay, I could've done without this.. don't except MAMA noodles..). We got the fish of the day: and boy, was it fresh and delicious.. We found this restaurant from Yelp because it offered sweet potato chips, which was our criteria today . We ordered BBQ pork ribs with coleslaw. The sweet potato chips requires extra 2 dollars. It took about 20 minutes to wait for the dish, but it was worth it. The ribs were very tender and I liked the sauce very much. On the menu, they have burgers, pizza, bbq skewers, and other large entrees. I ordered the Hard Nite burger, which came with beef, spinach, bacon, onions, and a hard boiled egg on top. It was quite a tall burger, especially with a whole egg on top. The beef patty was really thick and juicy. The burger is actually the best that I've had in Australia so far. The dish came with a side if sweet potato fries as well. The sweet potato fries were really good, cooked with fresh oil. I would definitely come here again. The restaurant is pretty spacious, good for large parties. They also have performances at The Avenue. read more

I strolled in for a beer to kill some time and watch the crowd. Ton of drinks to choose from. Drink prices were pretty standard for the area. The beers were making me thirsty so I ordered some chips. Really not surprise for the price point I guess. The ribs were fatty and low quality. The chicken was not a lot meat either. Ended up eating half of it and drinking my beer. For date night, my wife told me to pick a place for lunch, so I chose this spot off a YELP search. The 25% off check-in bonus was an extra incentive for my choice. We arrived around 1pm to a not very busy restaurant. The weather was horrendous and we were soaked from a very short walk from the carpark, which makes for a slow Sunday afternoon. It did seem to start getting busier with large family groups just before we left. We had already decided on our menu choices before arriving and opted for the Big Easy Platter (spicy buffalo wings, tuscan calimari, sticky pork belly, olives, grilled halloumi, basil pesto, jalapeno hommus, crispy flatbread) and an order of onion rings. It was a very good choice for two people with different tastes (major meat eater vs veggie friendly eater). My wife loved the wings and pork belly (with slaw). I tasted both and thought the wing sauce was very good but I did not like the sauce on the pork belly, but I'm not a fan of pork belly either. She ate every last bite of both and she can be picky when it comes to her meat. I very much enjoyed the halloumi (it was amazing with the salsa that is served with it), the jalapeno hommus was absolutely divine, the flat bread was a vessel for the hommus (nothing special), and the olives were just olives (salty). I was slightly disappointed in the calimari. I was expecting crispy which it was everything but crispy. It was great in flavour though and the pickle aioli was soooo good. I cleaned the platter of any aioli with my onion rings, which were awesome. They were perfectly crispy and served with a spicy ranch sauce that the wife enjoyed, I preferred them without. The only downside to our meal was the basil pesto which was absolutely horrible. My wife and I both agreed that it tasted like what soil smells like. It was the only thing left untouched on the platter. The service was okay but the server seemed to overlook us for a water refill, but it seemed that she might be new. She was very friendly though. The server that rang up our bill was courteous and professional. Overall, we would definitely return and maybe try a BBQ pizza or one of their fantastic sounding desserts. read more
