I called to see if they had a product part in stock and was met with no care on what the product was or if it was the right fit. The person on the phone call just gave me a ballpark of 40-100 dollars. It was a quick release plate for a Benro tripod. Basically, he said just to come on in. As a business, if you are unaware of what your customer needs or where they are at, if all you care about is the highest sale possible... you lost me. I can guess that I speak for the many and not just the few. If a company does not care about the you that has the money, then you lost me, forever. I will not recommend, I will not spend my money on a place that does not care about its customers. Wake up, it is 2025 and the public is paying attention. read more

I've gone to Panda Lab for a long time for film processing and have gotten as-expected results. However, I've emailed them three times to ask about hi-resolution printing and have never received a reply to any of those requests. So, expectable processing but poor management of their communications. Their website also looks like it's from the 80s and is unreadable on a mobile device, which isn't a ding against what they do but is (to me) a reflection on how current they are in their product and service offerings. read more

After doing my fair share of research on photo labs in Seattle and even trying out quite a few, Panda Lab has definitely come to be one of my favorites. (It comes close down to here and another place, but Panda Lab is much closer to where I live so it has an edge.) Rang the bell, was let in right away, and then helped by a very personable and friendly worker. Process in getting my 35mm developed was extremely straightforward and smooth. Hand the roll of film over, answer a few questions, and then you're on your way! Prices seemed a little steep to me compared to places I used to go to but I came to realize this is just a city/Seattle thing and you're really not gonna find anything better. I came on a Tuesday around noon and was told to expect about a one week turnaround time but ended up getting my scans on Saturday. Reading other reviews, this seems to be the norm, so I'm guessing they'd rather overestimate and overdeliver than underdeliver and get complaints haha. read more

A cute photo lab which has fueled my foray back into film photography! They are quick to develop any rolls I get to them and have a ton of different options for prints and scans. I've never had to wait more than a week and I know this can easily stretch into a month at drugstores. They tend to fall on the slightly pricier side but the staff has always been super nice and it's also great to be supporting a local small business. Wow! These guys are AWESOME! I recently have got back into film photography. Of course I wound up going to 2-3 different labs for development, before I found my way to Panda. I often had to wait 4+ weeks at the other places for development. Here at Panda it usually takes about 1 week! Get this... this week I dropped off film on Tues. I don't know how, but they got it to me on the next night, Wed. Also, these guys will scan it and send it to you via email if you like. What's not to like about one less trip downtown? Came here because Bartells and other places take like a month to develop photos from a cheap disposable camera. So I went here despite seeing some reviews that state it's kind of expensive. Brought in my disposable camera, asked for print outs and digitals. For the record, I'm clearly a novice and couldn't care less about negatives. Guy working asks if I want cut or uncut, and I don't really care so I just say cut. Looked at the receipt later that day to see that was an extra $7 so that was great, would've been nice if I was told that. Total was over $20 but that didn't really bother me until I picked up my "photos" a week later. They didn't even print out my photos and I just got my cut negatives and digitals sent to my email. Really only came here for print outs but was instead overcharged for products I wasn't looking for. Never coming back here again. read more

Got a recommendation to go here to develop my disposable camera photos. I had through through the reviews beforehand, so I knew it was going to be expensive, but I was still a little taken aback at the price. However, my digitals and prints were ready within a week and turned out beautiful! Everyone was very nice and I will definitely return the next time I need to develop photos. I have been going to Panda Labs for over 5 years and they have always done nice work. If you can drop off on a Monday, you usually have your scans by Friday. I do scan and email typically. They can develop E6. (I believe the only place in the state. I have tried other labs in the area and the scans either have issues with magenta highlights or extreme dust and grain, sometimes chemical blotches. Panda Labs has always been perfect. This is the best and most professional lab in the area. To anyone who has had a bad experience, this is a professional lab. I absolutely love Panda Lab. One of my favorite parts is instead of giving you a disc ( like walgreens, bartells, walmart etc..) of your scanned photos they email you a downloadable pdf with all of your photos in addition to physical copies. It's on the pricier side but I think its totally worth it for the quality of the photos and how fast they are able to develop them. I wont go anywhere else to get my film developed. read more

Horrible experience. My hands are still shaky because I'm so pissed by their carelessness and awful customer service. I dropped off two rolls of film three weeks ago and was told that they don't process film during the weekend but normally it take 2- 4 business days. I've been coming here for two years and I understand they do delay sometimes. So I waited for TWO WEEKS and still nothing. I decided to give them a call to check on the progress. Turned out they lost my films and the staff said will give me a call if they find them. And two days I waited again, no one had followed up with me. So I went to the store in person. Guess what, they found the films. I was glad that they didn't lose my films but the staff was extremely unpleasant. The lady pretended they had done nothing wrong and got very defensive when I mentioned the delay and the mess they had caused. And I waited another week. Still didn't get my photos. Had to call again, and they said they are very busy and if I want to get my films developed I need to wait. Seriously? I've waited three weeks and had to put up with terrible service for three weeks and I still need to wait? I'm pretty much done with this place and I'm going to the store tomorrow to get my undeveloped films back. Praying to god that they still have it. read more

This place is amazing. Right as I entered, I was greeted by a very kind woman at the counter. She soon realized I had never experienced having my films developed before, so, she took the time to answer all my questions and confusions, with patience. She was so so helpful and informative. I turned my roll in on Monday, and got my scans by Wednesday.... They only took TWO days to develop my film for me. I was so pleased. Overall, my first time experience there was outstanding. I've been looking into a few other photo developers in the Seattle area and honestly haven't found anyone better. Panda has attentive staff who genuinely care about your film. It's nice that my 36 exp costs the same as a 24 exp roll, though high resolution scanning costs an additional $10/roll which definitely adds up. Places like these are becoming scarce and if you've ever had a blank roll returned to you from those drugstore developers (I'll just call them FAILmart) then I suggest Panda. read more

This is my favorite place to get my film developed and scanned! I've tried a few places and it always turns out the best when I go here - super clear and it seems to be pretty forgiving for someone like me who doesn't have a ton of experience. The wait can be a little longer than other places but the quality ALWAYS makes up for it and they are always ready by the date they give you. read more

This was a very small job, and on a tight budget. The kind of job that has all the work of a decent project, but none of the payoff. I was referred to Panda by a local printer and called them about scanning a badly damaged 8x10 photograph in order to produce a handful of reprints to be used at a memorial service just two days away. When I got to the shop and took the print out of the frame, I was disappointed to learn that the spots weren't on the outside of the glass, but rather on the photograph itself, looked like coffee or pepsi, perhaps, maybe even a big gulp... Dana wrote the job up for me and made some thoughtful suggestions on color correction and retouching, taking the image quality in stride and leaving me feeling confident that the finished product would be great. It was ready by noon the following day, and the finished product was terrific. The work reflected a mastery of tool, a keen understanding of retouching, and would have required an hour or more studio time for even a seasoned studio artist. The only snag was about the cost of the job, and could be chalked up to missed communications. In this line of work, like any other, a written estimate goes a long way. In the end though -- they get the points again, because the manager wrote off a portion of the bill to bring it back in line, in large part because it's for a memorial -- and I really appreciate that too. So, Panda gets a good review from me to be sure, albeit a very small project. I'm looking forward to quoting them next time I need some commercial retouching and/or digital printing done locally. read more

Sadly, professional quality photo labs like Panda are becoming more and more scarce, so I'm really grateful Seattle has Panda. The owners and staff are truly wonderful. This is a great photo lab! In a world of photography that is going more and more exclusively digital, Panda is a safe haven that still smells of photo chemicals. Their prices are terrific for processing ($5 per roll - that's color AND B&W) and larger reprints, but a little steeper for digital services. They have good hours (open M - Sat, until 6 during the week, and until 1 on Saturday) and the staff is very friendly and helpful. A little bit off the beaten path, it's worth the search if you're looking for great service. read more

I've taken in many old family photos to this shop to have them put on disc and occasionally reprinted. The quality of their work and the speed and attention to detail is awesome. Recently I went in just a few days before leaving the country in search of Italian relatives overseas. I had finally found the family photo I hoped to take with me and they were not only able to rush the job but gave me a small print to take with me so I wouldn't be tempted to take the original. Panda is definitely off of the beaten path and not the most convenient place for internet savvy people who are wanting to upload their photos via ftp for printing, but they do a great job developing film and their turnaround times are quick. I've opted to use other photo labs for printing, but I use them when I have C-41 film to develop. They do a great job and will scan each negative for virtually nothing. Panda is easy to miss if you're looking for a big storefront, but their service and quality is definitely worth your time and money. read more

In years past I have developed my own black and white film and also had it hand developed by a top professional lab. Panda's work is just as good. My father-in-law is turning 98 in July. The family as framing an article he published in 1951. I had a digital image for a cover of a magazine that the article was published in. I couldn't get hard copy of the original cover. I brought the digital image to the store and talked to Jessica about tweaking the image which she did on a high definition screen. She said it would be ready in 2 days. When I called prior to pick it up, they asked if my first name was " Canceled ". I had call back 2 hours later to talk to Jessica who told me it couldn't be done for 2 more days because they were busy. This despite the fact that originally I had to,d them that I had a tight timeline. They finally agreed to get it done that day. But it was badly printed out. It was unusable at $30. I got a better image printed out at Costco while I waited for $10 read more

I support local small business and I get the sweat and love that goes into making one succeed. And I'm the last person to publicly criticize anyone. So it bums me out that I have to toss a (metaphoric) bomb at Panda Lab. The problem I had here: they lost a roll of film. This by itself I could forgive, but the poor customer service I cannot. I dropped off some rolls of very old film to develop. When I returned to pick up the prints, we realized that one roll was missing. They said they would search for it and contact me. They never did. I had to call back to inquire on progress. I was handed off to a manager (owner?) who was very defensive and unpleasant, leaving me feeling cold. I was passed off to someone else who was very kind, sympathetic and she said she would keep looking and follow up with me. Nobody has in 5 months. I hope someone from Panda Lab reads this review and shares it at a staff meeting. I want you to know that I chose you to develop some very old rolls of film belonging to my wife's family. It was to be a surprise with pictures of her deceased father from 20 years ago. I was planning a surprise for both my wife and her widowed mom of a man they both loved and who died an untimely death from cancer. I honestly could forgive you lost the film. Accidents happen. But I cannot forgive the total lack of effort to acknowledge the loss. These were irreplaceable pictures. But I do want you to succeed. My advice: if anything like this happens again, take more time to understand what your customer may have lost. Empathize. Make a symbolic gesture to help make it up - an Amazon gift card, a bottle of wine, something. And when you say you will call back - call back. If you can accept your performance merited one star - if you really get the emotional needs of your customer - then I think you guys will do just fine and I would gladly use your services again. read more

The female clerk's bad attitude was palpable at "Hello". Forced smile complete with a big 'ol chip on her shoulder. On my first visit I ignored her shitty-ass aura. On my return visit it was impossible. This gal is ready for conflict the moment you walk in. She should never work with the public as she earned an F in customer service on both visits. I gave Panda a few tries after 60 Minute Photo closed in November of 2012. Their prices were about a dollar more expensive for C-41 120 development but I'd heard a lot of good things about them. Unfortunately, they kept burning the last frame on my film. When you're shooting 67 on a 120 roll and you're only getting 9/10 photos, that's a little frustrating. I tried to get some answers from the sales staff about what was going on, but most did not know or offer an explanation. One woman seemed willing to work to solve my issue, but the film turned out the same. I've since moved to another lab, get all 10 of my photos on a 120 roll and am much happier. read more
