My husband and I went in to the store and picked up a new hobby. What is cool about this store, they have 2 stories AND they even put on classes, which is nice for those who are just starting out a new hobby in this category. They service was impressive, we weren't rushed, weren't pressed to purchase something, and the first time I went, I actually FaceTimed my husband and the salesman helped us find the right camera and helped us bundle the rest of the essentials that we would need to start our new hobby. Taking a film class at UW and my prof highly recommended this shop. Needed paper and film for my camera and prints and it was very easy to find. Was able to park for free in their garage as well. Person ringing me up was great and was able to get me a student discount for the paper. Film photography is expensive - period lol. But this shop has good value for high quality materials. Awesome place to buy any photography related gear - they seem to have everything. Staff are the highlight, 10/10 customer service and extremely knowledgeable. Every time I'm there I feel like I spend a few hours debating how much I can spend, on things that are necessary or not, but I'm almost always convinced to spend more than I needed (by myself) since I'm not there often enough and it's nice to pick things out by hand instead of online for a change. Costs are generally a bit high but not all unreasonable depending on what it is. They have a parking garage which is a perk, but the downside is that it is absolutely tiny (with the tiniest spots) so it might be better to just park on the street to avoid getting hit or scratched. Last time I bought something here there was a minor issue but it was too late for me to return by the time I discovered it and realized what it was, and too expensive to get it fixed there, so I have to do it myself which is the downside... but generally good products overall. Either way, the only real options around Greater Seattle Area that I know of (as good options at least) is either here or Kenmore Camera, who also have fantastic staff, good gear and lots of parking, so check out both and see which is better for you. read more

Wow! All I can say from the time I entered til the time I left, the staff impressed me. I called in as my friend gave back my camera and lenses where parts were missing and lenses had at least been mishandled and covered in fingerprints. They (Jen) told me to bring in my items so they can inspect the lenses for scratches etc. after a few minutes, the gentleman had them all cleaned and inspected. Crisis averted where I didn't need to buy replacement lenses. Shopped around and found new lenses as well as used ones. They grade the lenses which is helpful for the novice, but everyone was engaging and asked if I had questions. I will definitely be coming back here to grab more items. If you're new to photography or a master, this store is the HOLY GRAIL for photographers. They have a parking lot next to the building which will save you time looking and paying for street parking lot. read more

I am in the process of finding a place in Seattle to develop and scan my film rolls, and stopped by Glazer's Camera to see what they had to offer. Two words: Not impressed. None of the associates I interacted with were friendly nor welcoming. I waited 22 days to receive my film scans, though the SLA is 21 days to Glazer's credit. My biggest qualm is that Glazer's failed to delete my photo scans, despite claiming to do so past a certain date. It is important for me to find a company who respects my privacy, and Glazer's lacks this integrity. The only thing that makes this place worthy to try is their free $25 credit for services when you make an account with them. read more

Love this place! First big building camera store I visited in Seattle. Had all the cool modern cameras. But my main focus was a flash adapter for my Leica M3. The specialist helped me out explaining how it works and even though I couldn't get it to work (due to the small PC flash adapter part), I appreciated the assistance. I also spotted a very nice hasselblad 500C (at least i think it was) but it was beyond my budget. Overall, will definitely visit again when i come back to Washington! read more

Top shop for all things photography. One of the only stores in the country that are manufacturer ADs for all the big names. They also have a good flow of used bodies and lenses. May as well be called a museum as well. They also have a small curated book selection which is thoughtful and lovely. Can find local zines, and wonderful photography books to add to your collection/s. I have always gotten very good customer service and will keep coming back for years to come. Wanted to check out a real camera store during our trip here and boy was I impressed. Damn near everything on the b&h wishlist was right in front of my face and then some. From vintage cameras, developers, lights etc this place had it all! If I had the disposable income I wish I had I'd have a field day in this place and damn near run that stock down. Also while I know some camera stores tend to judge your unculturedness when I bought a new case for some gear they helped me quite easily and didn't seem high and mighty at all. Did I mention they develop film and have a massive stock of developer, paper and film that I can never get in California? Well yah they do and get 36MP tiffs for the same price as a 13-16MP jpg at other places. Well worth the wait and I'm definitely coming back every time I'm in town! read more

I bought a waterproof camera cover based on a sales person's recommendation before going on a 2 week trip to Alaska. I tried it once and it was a terrible product. I came back to return it and found they only have a 14 day return policy. I tried to support this local business but next time I'd recommend just using Amazon. It's cheaper, more flexible on returns and they stand by their merchandise more than this place does. read more

Glazer's is a top end Seattle mega camera store, and everyone there is very friendly and mostly knowledgeable, I took my camera there for repair, an older 35mm camera, my first camera, and sadly after paying top dollar for the repair, it came back somewhat serviced with some damage, so as they were gracious to take it back and give it back to the repair person, however since they only have a part time repair technician, it will be another week or two before I can get my camera back. I am sad, I was so very excited to get my hands on my first camera to shoot some film, to only realize my beautiful old lenses will continue to gather dust. TL;DR: Staff such as Dion are the reasons to come to Glazer's, and the reason that (despite the expensive MSRP and light discounts) I keep coming back. Glazer's has been in Seattle for over 89 years (as of 2024), and the welcoming community the employees create with Seattleite photographers is why we keep coming back. Full Review: Glazer's Camera is the premier photography store in the Seattle area; Glazer's staff are amazing to work with, with employees such as William, Jimmy, and Dion being outstanding to work with, to find what I need, and what to recommend to my friends. Usually I will go to discount stores, but not for photography. Here, employees like Dion keep me so well informed about what is the best for my use cases that I feel confident that I can shop here. If you have a crop sensor camera Dion will let you know what the equivalent lens length is in seconds. I need versatile lenses with good depth of field with good stabilisation, and Dion helped me not only find the perfect lenses, but the perfect camera for me. No matter how experienced you are, Dion is the go to for any information you need. If you're shopping used, Dion and Jimmy are your guys. Glazer's has been my go-to camera store since back in the days when I bought film from their refrigerators. I was there again last week, for some help with a lens that was not focusing. Once again I got great friendly service, from someone who clearly knew their stuff re this camera/lens, and who also clearly was listening to what I wanted, not trying to sell me something I didn't want or need. Over the years I have used repairs and bought new equipment, but have not used rentals. This was the first time I bought a used lens to replace the problem one, and so far it's going well. Sure, you can look for discounts online, and I want to go where the gear comes with support for my purchase, at a fair price. A great camera store. read more

Additionally, customer service has always been professional, informative, and friendly. While I have the luxury of visiting them in person, I would recommend anyone from out of town order online. Shoutout to Daniel who has provided excellent customer service and dry humor along the way. I bought a Nikon Z 6 body and kit lens from Glazers with Daniels help around July. Over the weekend while trying to get some starry night sky shots, my tripod and camera fell over and hit the ground hard. The B+W UV Filter I had on cracked and the filter was bent onto the lens making it impossible to remove. I brought it into Glazers where Daniel saved the day. He broke the filter glass and with one strong twist with pliers, he popped the filter right off. He cleaned the lens and it was good to go again. Having "window shopped" for the first 10 or so times I walked past the store, I finally went inside to check out all their gear and it really reminded me of the B&H flagship store in NYC - except more personable and friendly. There are certainly some great sales reps at Glazers, but echoing what some others have said, it completely varies depending on who you talk to and how the store "feels" that day. There are times where I have been helped immediately, and times where I was completely ignored. Therefore, I usually go in knowing exactly what I need and only go because it saves time and possible shipping mishandling over ordering very expensive items online. I got my first DSLR from them many many years ago, and as a growing professional over the years I have bought and traded plenty of good quality and fairly priced used (and new) gear at Glazers. They do have mostly anything you can think of barring specialty or extremely specific items/brands you can only really find from online stores like Adorama or B&H. Overall, Glazers has gone downhill in customer service over the years, but is still the go-to for a pretty good selection of used gear, and some more specific items if you can only get to Seattle, otherwise I'd go north just a bit to Kenmore as they have a very similar selection and, from my experience, much more consistent and personable reps that feel like they are more about helping than selling. read more

If you have questions -- they'll tell you what you want to hear. If you have money -- they'll most likely give you some time. If you have problems with expensive equipment a few months after the sale -- you are 100% on your own. They will not advocate for you. They will not stand by their product or the claims they made when selling you the item. They have their money and they will walk away. They say there's a sucker born every minute and for one proverbial minute I was the sucker. Don't be the next. Caveat emptor. read more

Salespeople at Glazer's camera are either good enough to keep or cruddy enough to fire. It all comes down to their attitude towards customers. The bad ones don't understand that they have competition from the internet. The good ones understand that. If I were running Glazer's, I'd identify the bad ones and fire them. There are plenty of good sales people who can learn the camera business. No reason to keep bad sales people. Because of the bad sales people, I won't shop at Glazer's again unless in dire need. You Glazer's managers: figure out who is turning customers off and get rid of those sales people. Seriously. Find out who we (the customers) like. Reward those people and keep them around. read more

This was my first experience with Glazers and was during the virus lockdown. It was a mail order of a new camera bag. It couldn't have gone smoother. Glazer's web site shows many bags to choose from including hard cases and soft cases / back pack styles. Very good price ranges too. The descriptions of the available bags included lots of photos on their interiors (a pet peeve. Not all mail order sites, including manufacturers and Amazon show the insides so how do you know if it will fit your gear and needs??). The on-line order system was as easy as any, such as Amazon's. No brainer. I ordered my bag Friday afternoon. A few minutes later there was an eMail confirmation. On Monday a guy named Jordan called to let me know the order system did not charge sales tax (Gee! I thought the Governor was being kind due to the virus. Not!). That was easily sorted. The bag arrived Tuesday evening (via UPS). It was packed safely and arrived in great condition. The order fullfillment process was impressive considering this took place in the time of the Covid-19 lockdown. I'm looking forward to visiting the store when the lock down is over and we all can return to general population! Like a kid in a candy store! read more

Visited the store on 9/11/2021 to support a local brick and mortar business and unfortunately I will never return after this experience - I see why Amazon is taking over and it's due to the compounding of these type of customer experiences driving consumers online. One of the items I was ready to buy ended up having the wrong price sticker placed on it by their stock associate, and instead of allowing the transaction to go through as marked, the manager wanted to change the price by $30 after it had been rang in and accepted by their point of sale system. All I ask is why wouldn't you allow the transaction to go through and use it as a training lesson for the team? Was it worth losing the $100 sale, this bad review and losing at least one customer for a lifetime? read more

Prices were pretty typical for their used selection. I ended up picking up a newly released Sigma lens which was a surprise as my local stores don't typically carry a selection of Sigma. Deon was really helpful and generous in helping me out and showing me various accessories as well. Overall a pleasant experience and I would come back here next time I find myself in Seattle. read more
