Way better organized than the name suggests. Love the notes and bookmarks in these used books!

One of two dvd rental establishments I am aware of in Toronto, I applaud its mission to bring choice to cineastes and to sell physical media to collectors. That's where my admiration ends. This business is run more like a hobby than a serious enterprise. First of all the hours are not posted to my knowledge. There IS an open/closed sign to be fair, but you'll be hard pressed to know when OPEN will be displayed. If you're someone who likes surprise and allowing your shopping efforts to be shaped by serendipity then this is the shop for you. I've attended a few of the Video Store Day sales where hours were posted in advance on social media and was left waiting for the owner to arrive past the indicated opening time. Not much mind you, say 15-20 minutes, but if you're promoting a major sales event, wouldn't it make sense to show up when advertised? Rental selection is pretty good. Lots of obscure gems but the discs I've rented in the past looked like they had been skated on. I rented once and that was it. The store makes an attempt to look cultish and cool, but ends up having that last day of a garage sale vibe. Used discs are strewn in boxes on the floor and in no special order on the shelves. New product is appealing but the owner has taken to not putting prices on the discs. In the past I've paid more than I would have at a competitor's or if I had bought the disc from the production company directly. Again, if you like serendipity its a great experience. What you are paying is always a surprise. On the upside they have a great t-shirt selection if you want to show your allegiance to cult and classic film. Nice designs on quality shirts. You can also find some obscure zines and books that are locally produced and worth the effort of coming by. For new releases or rentals I prefer to shop at their competitor on Bay. This shop could be so much more with a serious attitude to retail.

It was really fun to walk around and read about the benefits of all the different supplements and herbs they sell. In addition to all of the spices, herbs and supplements, they sell books, spiritual items, home items, snacks and so much more. I really enjoyed walking through this store and would definitely go back on a day I am looking to buy new superfoods.

Yes it is indeed a store filled with books as the category would suggest. However, it is much more…read morethan that. It is filled with bulk wholefoods including hemp seed powder, cocao nibs, pumpkin powder, chia seed and much much more at a very reasonable price. The basement is sometimes filled with introspective art; exploring spirituality, mindfulness and life. It is though-provoking to observe the way of being in an art form. My favorite part about the store is the little cafe at the front with organic whole food takeout - lentil mushroom salad, chili, pesto white bean kale salad, oat apple bar, kombucha, and raw pumpkin and chocolate cheesecake. Again, endless selection of healthy delicious choices. Each slice of raw cheesecake is made from soaked cashews, hemp heart and coconut milk as base and topped with mulberry or goji berry depending on the type of cheesecake. A well balanced guilty pleasure with healthy fats and protein to heal your body. Although it is important to note that no basil was harm in the making of the pesto; the pesto more than made up for it with an array of superfood: parsley, high quality olive oil and hemp hearts. Each carefully crafted salad is made as a balance meal with protein, antioxidants, , complex crabs, fats, greens, fibers and most importantly love. The chef expressed the importance of cooking with love. Food cooked with a positive frame of mind and love nourish our physical and etheric body.
