I have been meaning to come to Vicki's sop for quite some time, and yesterday was the day. She has herbs lined up the walls in glass canisters and greets you in a friendly manner. I have to admit I was a bit nervous not knowing how to approach her for a magical candle. It was busy for a small space. When I did, I said I wanted a money $$$ candle because being financially independent and prosperous is important to me right now with the changes all over the world. A Pandemic and a War in Ukraine have caused an inner alarm within me. She said she will prepare it and then brings it back she instructs me to set my intention (wealth, new house, settlement of a wrongful death lawsuit) and to then light it. I do just that at the stroke of the Spring Equinox and ask GOD, my Orishas, and all magical elements of the universe to open the roads. It's manifestation at its highest, believing is the first part then the rest falls into place. I'm so happy Panpipes is BACK! Vikki is the BEST. She's so nice and accommodating, and she certainly doesn't have to be with one of the best occult apothecaries (if not the best in LA)! I live in the valley, so I typically go to GreenMan, but no one beats Vikki when it comes to blending a masterful oil. She also goes out of her way to stock real herbs and not the weird synthetic stuff that's popping up online. She carries things they don't have at Green's like Hoyts cologne, and other hard to find splashes. She also carries pre made poppets, and hard to find candles in certain shapes that of course help with a focus on a particular result when doing a specific type of working. She's more of a botanica than a crystal/ stone shop. Greens has an apothecary toooo, but if you're in the mystical community you probably already know the difference between a botanica and not a botanica. I would say GreenMan's shoppe is great for beginners and Pans is more geared toward the intermediate or seasoned practitioner. Vikki whipped me up a phenomenal gambling oil for my use on a recent trip to Vegas. I WON TOO! Yasssss! As a matter of fact, I let my bother use a drop or two, and he won the same amount as me... so I KNOW it was the power of the craftsmanship of her oil, and of course a little help from my loving spirits to give it that extra lucky boost! Regardless, I drove over on a cloudy Tuesday afternoon and was happy to discover that this space is gorgeous! Many occult shops feel like a flea market, displaying dusty old junk -- that's marked up 300% -- that was obviously collected by some bored housewife on her biannual trip to India. Not Pan's! Here it feels like every book, bauble and potion has been intentionally chosen. The owner, a genius Sagg from Down Under, and her adorable dog, Sir Vincent, are my new go-to Oracles for healing. Vicky's magick is 100% real. I came to this shop about 2 months ago knowing that makes manifestation candles on-the-spot. She asked me what I needed the candle for, and gave me a recommendation for the type of candle I should get. She then "made" the candle by sprinkling in various powders, dry herbs, and other things to really charge the candle with her Magick. She was very nice to explain how to use it, including safety tips for when keeping the candle lit :) Since that first candle, the intention and wish I set when I lit it has come to fruition and more! Her shop itself has numerous crystals, spiritual artifacts, pendants, incense, tarot and Oracle cards, altar tools, many many books on spirituality, and much more! She's so kind, caring, and attentive to her customers. Every time I am in the shop, I seem to run into other customers who have been coming to her for a long time. She also always updates her Yelp with her store hours. Covid has done a number to many shops who have to change their hours, which makes sense. I always go through Pan's for my metaphysical goods and grateful that the store is doing mail order since I no longer live in LA. Please be patient if she is busy. Good selection of roots and herbs at decent prices. The shop has only been at this location for about a month. The shopkeep (Vicky) is not very outwardly friendly and doesn't move very quickly. Things were a bit unorganized and there was no visible signage from the street (again, her shop hasn't been open long). Energy wise the shop was very dark and gothy even down to the music. It was a bit much after a while and as I mentioned, service isn't quick. I saw Eleguas - so the place isn't entirely Eurocentric (buuuut it mostly is). I saw one book on Santeria and one book on New Orleans voodoo that was written by a non-practitioner. I may come back once the owner has had a chance to settle in. The major obstacle for me is distance but apothecaries are few and far between so... Give her a try and see what you think. The people that were in the shop when I arrived seemed totally smitten. Oh yes, and there is the sweetest pupper. Credit cards accepted, street parking and I didn't try her for this but she advertises incense and oil custom blended while you wait. read more

Vicky is such a wonderful person. I got a white candle with Vicky special touch the other day and it worked so well clearing my house and opening my eyes to what was happening. I went back to see if I should get anything else because of the additional stuff that was unveiled to me with this girl I rented a room to. I've been going to Pan's Apothika (which used to be panpipes) for several years. They have the best prices in town for crystals, sage, candles, everything! Their inventory is really unique, high quality, and the owner, who runs and manages the shop, is always there and extremely helpful. This is without a doubt one of the nicest metaphysical stores that I have ever been. Lovely interior with high-celling in old traditional charm with the touch of industrial chic. Everything there is so unique and special. Full of beautiful antique cabinets that display curiosities alongside wide selection of rare books, Tarot decks, Ouiji boards, altar supply, I absolutely adore this place and Viki who is extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. I love visiting this store! Everything is well stocked and the woman who owns it is very helpful and sweet. Never have any issues finding parking even though its on a busy street. It may looked closed from outside but you can always call to make sure they're open. I always come in here needing 1-2 things but leave with a bagful hahaha. I understand that things happen and that business owners are doing their best to run their businesses. Unfortunately, in my experience I think I overextended my naivety In believing that Vicky does care about whether or not she is providing the best possible service to her customers to the best of her ability. I don't know if she has stuff going on her life but her business has definitely reflected a very disorganized, and careless attitude. I really wanted to be a loyal returning client - and I was because I did keep coming back - but it was disappointment after disappointment. I would text my order in advance and get confirmation from her personally that my candles would be ready, and I'd show up, and she was RARELY ever open at the time she said she would be. Additionally, I drive a little over an hour from my place to get there and it is frustrating to have to sit in my car for nearly an additional hour just to wait. I've made the effort to call and communicate as well - for those wondering why the heck didn't I just call - I DID! I was told days and times and never did it ever happen the way she would say. This last time (today), I showed up around the time she said she would be open - I even showed up a bit past it knowing I'd probably have to wait anyway, and she didn't even show up. I called and text and received no reply even though she's the one who gave me the day and time! I drove over an hour hoping and trusting it would be different. Nope. If you're not a local, I would highly encourage to find a better place - honestly. It just seems like she is not happy with her work and it doesn't really matter whether or not she keeps a client. I say local because at least you could probably afford to waste the time as it may not require you to travel over an hour just to arrive to disappointment, and I'm sure your gas tank would appreciate it. Like I mentioned, it seems like she's not happy with what she does - her attitude seems apathetic the last couple times I was there and it doesn't seem like she's a person who can keep to her word - I cannot imagine what kind of energy is going into the candles or has gone into the candles.
