They could benefit from a bit more banana or fresh fruit to balance out the stack, especially given the size of the dish. The English breakfast was excellent, well-cooked and satisfying, and the side of chorizo stood out as particularly flavorful. Coffee was genuinely perfect, easily one of the highlights of the meal. The overall vibe is a classic European café style, relaxed and comfortable, good for a casual sit-down breakfast or brunch. One important note: this is not a place for traditional Spanish food. If you are looking for local Catalan or Spanish breakfast or tapas, this will feel more international than authentic. Overall, strong for coffee and comfort food, but not aligned with a traditional Barcelona culinary experience.good service and free WiFi

Great service is little to say, these guys make you feel like you're visiting their living room, and they will treat you like family. 5 star service every time, while the ambiance is well lit, always spotless clean and the amount of people at top capacity feels good. Epic! Actually I'm going there for breakfast right now! :) thanks again!

Caravelle is quaint and modern, and the service is definitely on the more lax side. Note: smaller parties may be seated at the communal table, and this place stays busy! Be prepared for a bit of a wait. I started with a café con leche, and although I'm not usually a sweets-for-breakfast kinda person, the croffle looked too enticing online to pass up. Being a huge egg aficionado, I also ordered a side of eggs à la carte. My coffee arrived quickly, but after waiting 30 minutes, I noticed that guests who had arrived after me were already enjoying their meals... When I checked in with the waiter, it turned out my order hadn't gone through at all. I had to reorder, and while waiting, I asked for another café con leche since I was long overdue for a refill. Unfortunately, that second coffee never came--but on the bright side, my meal eventually did. The croffle was freaking divine. Crispy/flakey on the outside, and soft inside. The cream was sweet, but not overpowering, and the tart of the berries balanced out the meal. As I was getting ready to check out, the waiter asked if I had ever received my second café con leche. Embarrassed for them, I admitted that I hadn't... Realizing they'd made ANOTHER mistake, he apologized profusely and quickly asked the barista to make me one to go. To compensate for my time and patience, he generously comped my entire meal, leaving me to pay only for the initial coffee (2.50 euros). Despite the service hiccups, the food was incredible--truly one of my favorite breakfasts in Spain.

Bernie's is one of the better options located near the Gothic Quarter in Barcelona. But it really is only one of the better ones because a lot of other "American" establishments are bad. You really make due with what you have. Their milkshakes are good. Nice and creamy but not too heavy. I had the chocolate milkshake and was a fan. My GF had their strawberry cheesecake milkshake and it was good, but tasted more like just strawberry than strawberry cheesecake. T-bone steak tasted similar to a decent american diner and it hit the spot. Their ribs are absolutely horrible though. They were overcooked, dry, bland, and slathered in a bad BBQ sauce. Do come if you miss home, but don't come expecting an amazing meal.

We couldn't eat it. - The fries were as bland as fries can be. No seasoning, and like rubber. - The patatas bravas were literally just plain steak fries. Also no seasoning but most importantly no bravas sauce or aioli. - The banana milkshake was mostly milk. Vanilla wasn't bad. - Banana split was pretty good, but it's hard to mess up scoops of ice cream and toppings. The woman who took my order wasn't rude by any means, but she was cold and almost seemed bothered to be dealing with an American even though I spoke mostly in Spanish. If you're really desperate for American food in Barcelona, I guess you can find worse, but if you have time, I'd go elsewhere. For what it's worth, the atmosphere was cool. Good music and aesthetic. Place was clean.

We loved all the fresh ingredients on display. It made the ambiance cool and got us ready to eat. I ordered the baby squid with eggs and the Padron Peppers. Shoutout Mark Wiens and Mike Chen for hyping these 2 dishes up because they were worth the hype. The baby squid were fresh and mixed with the runny egg, made for a texture and flavor combination that I never had before. The tiny chili that gave the dish some heat was phenomenal. My only gripe is that I did not ask for more tiny chilis. The Padron Peppers here were the best. I had these peppers throughout our trip around Spain and found the ones cooked here at El Quim the most flavorful. My wife ordered the sardines and pan con tomate. Also excellent dishes. Would love to come back one day. Thank you to the attentive and enthusiastic staff of El Quim de la Boqueria.

We ordered the "Patatas Bravas", "Gambas al Ajillo", "Salteado de Chipirones (Baby Squid Sauté)", and "Rabo de Toro Estofado", and every dish was full of flavor and prepared with high-quality ingredients. Watching the chefs cook just a few feet away made the experience even more enjoyable.

The beer selection is vast and great, I've enjoyed their wheat beer, as well as lagers. The wings are good too, my favs were garlic Parmesan, buffalo & buffalo mild. This is definitely a great spot for anyone into American beer hall vibes while in Barcelona - plenty of seating and TV's throughout to watch games or other things. I do kind of wish we could've had the chance to still get some food, as other tables that had some from earlier looked really tasty. Nevertheless, the vibes were great and the beers hit the spot here. What more can I say?! It was bright, airy, and comfortable inside - perfect for hanging out! I think this is a great option - especially for American tourists, but also for just anyone that wants to have a spot that's chill and fun to hang out at. I definitely recommend!
