My friend and I walked up around 7pm and there was a bit of a line as they run a fantastic deal (50 cents per wing on Mondays), but we were seated within 15 minutes. The waitresses and bartenders were all so sweet and kind, a special shout out to Ellen, Lynn and Ella! We really appreciated the vegan options (burgers, vegan nuggets, build your own bowls) and attention to dietary restrictions. The vegan burger was one of the best I have ever had, and my friend highly recommended the garlic parm wings. We both got red wine sangria and it was absolutely delicious and had a heavy but very appreciated pour! I checked out this place last night for some beers and maybe something to snack and while I found both of those things excellent what really put this place over the top were the people who worked at CocoVail. The place was packed meaning it was doubtful I would get a table so I decided the best course of action was to simply place a take out order at the bar and have a beer while waiting not what I was looking for but I was content. However while waiting the server I talked to when I initially got to Coco Vail remembered me and alerted me that a table had indeed come free. So in a rush my take out order was put on a plate and I got to chill out and take in this really cool bar. CocoVail feels like it would be at home plopped on a California beach. It's kitschy. There's a ton of beer on tap. We went for the Barcelona football match and the place was absolutely packed. Unfortunately, there's not a ton of seating up for grabs, so we sat at a small table with a long line of people standing to get beer in front of us. We frequently had to stand to see the game. If you're going for a football game, get there really, really early and pick a seat close enough to the TVs that you won't have your view blocked by people coming and going. if there's no game on, I assume the place is much more relaxed. Sure, it kinda feels like Jimmy Buffett's rec room, but as long as they're not playing his shitty music, CocoVail is a great place to have a few beers. read more

I'm so sorry to say my husband and I were astounded by the lack of respect we received by the staff after returning across town anticipating the wings and excellent service we received earlier today. We were 2 min past last call for food after waiting 30 minutes for a cab across town and calling multiple times to confirm the word we heard earlier about the food service only to meet a busy signal and upon arrival, than being completely denied without any question and chance of food for being 2 minutes late!!! This a huge disappointment considering we had raved about how excellent the service and staff had been earlier that day and we were thrilled, what a bummer. When we arrived this evening two min late we were told by the incredibly rude staff to go to McDonalds. Wow is all we can say! I sincerely hope in the future, an American casual themed bar may show an ounce of the level of respect and consideration every America pub considers mandatory. What a let down. For such a classy owner I hope that hiring adults as his night staff may be something to consider moving forward.
