If you're raised in Miami like me then leave for about 10 years and come back and see how crazy Wynwood has gotten then you probably will like this Panther location better. Same amazing roasted coffee as the original but with better customer service and without the ridiculous lines of the Wynwood location. Panther Coffee simply gets it. This is an amazing small businesses that has truly made it's mark in the Miami area. The coffee is absolutely delicious and the owners really care about the options they are offering, how they source it, and the experience you have at this location or any other. This business is a breath of fresh air in a world of big box commercial coffee chains. Even as they have expanded they have never lost their local, artisanal touch. When we walked in it was close to closing time, we ordered to iced coffees both which although rich in taste were missing sweetener. It's priced like a Starbucks and I think it's crazy that for a 5 dollar coffee I'd still have to sweeten it myself.. he hooked us up with extra free pastries which were good but dry. It's local. It's trendy. It's amazing. And most importantly, it's not Starbucks. We ordered a pour over of their Santa Lucia from Brazil and sat at the bar as the coffee chemist (term coined by me!) prepared our coffee. The chemist's moves were very calculated as he weighed the coffee and gathered all of the tools to make our brew. The whole process took about 10-15 minutes since the pour over requires for the coffee grounds to be placed in a coffee filter over a cup and then hot water is poured slowly and evenly onto the grounds. The water then filters through the coffee and seeps through the filter creating one delicious and rich cup of coffee. Don't have time to wait for a cup of coffee? Not a problem. They have your standard, less time consuming options too. Also, they offer nitrogen coffee, which can only be found at this (coconut grove) location. The good: It was high time for another coffee shop to open up in the Grove. Aside from the bookstore, there was no decent non-franchise coffee place. And Panther's coffee beans remain among the best out there. While pricey, the pastries, especially the almond croissant, are delicious. The bad: The best coffee beans are no good without a barista who actually knows what he's doing. Alas, during my latest visit the milk of my cappuccino was steamed to the point of boiling preventing any semblance of that silky foam that good cappuccinos are all about. And what's with the seating? The waiting room at the local penitentiary is likely to be more comfortable. The verdict: It took Panther longer than expected to open up their new Grove location. It will take even longer to bring it up to the standards that we've come to enjoy at their Wynwood and SoBe locations. I for one won't be back anytime soon. read more

Wife and I were in town for a week and we wanted a place that could rival the best pour-over/hipster coffee joints in NY and DC areas. We were not disappointed. Both the coffee and the service were great. For other coffee snobs like us, some notes: I'm a sucker for African beans and the kenya did not disappoint- tasted sweet, almost like a george howell bean (Panther roasts their own); I ordered kalita wave pour-over, which is a solid way to go for any bean; wife got a white nitro (cream + vanilla + nitro cold brew) and loved it, as did I. The parking here can be difficult around the time the nearby schools get out, but it's worth it. read more

I went to this location on a Saturday morning at around 11 and was surprised at how empty it was. Must be the uncomfortable seating... I ordered an almond milk cappuccino and an almond croissant. Unfortunately they were out, so I settled for a chicken empanada (kept on a warming tray behind the cashier). Both were very tasty, although I felt like the whole thing was a bit overpriced for $9. I had a few minutes to spare, so I sat at one of the concrete benches. Whoever "dreamt up" of this design must have been on something. Not inviting at all! Maybe that's why it's so empty on a Saturday morning. Definitely not a place to come and hang out, but the food and drinks do make up for it! If you can't find street parking, the garage across the street offers the first half hour for free! read more

Always try my best to work locally whenever I'm in Wynwood/Mid-Town are just so I can stop in at one of my top 3 coffee shops. Panther has amazing coffee. I'm more of a latte drinker but there coffee is roasted there, the environment is very artsy, urban and trendy. Limited seating inside but large outside seating. Good wifi connection. You will need to be mindful of meter parking but worth every penny. They also have a fresh selection of Croissants, pastries and baked goods. The staff is always friendly and I think this is best coffee South Florid has to offer. Recommend any coffee lovers to make this your spot. read more

IN LOVE!! This coffee has a flavor that is unlike other beans. You can't pass this coffee shop up if you're in Miami. It's a bit on the pricey side but I ended up buying a bag of espresso beans that comes with a free drink($7 value). I recommend doing the same because you'll love the bean!! read more

Panther in the Grove? We thought it would be a great adding! We waited for months and months for it to open.. We've been there three times and its soooooo uncomfortable... So sad that they didn´t invest into proper tables, chairs and nice inviting outdoor seating. The place is uncomfortable, with low tables on hardwood benches. Impossible to have a nice snack or breakfast, not even mention a work meeting. It seems it was designed for lonely people or bikers on the go.... Why invest in a place in the grove if you don´t want people to hangout and consume in your local? Don't understand. Also, the cashier is at the end of the place, so if there are people waiting for a coffee or desert, they get in the middle of the line to order, creating a bit of confusion. Who designed that store? It puzzles me that they thought it would work this way. Most of the time its empty. Don't think it will last, personally. I'm so sad that they didn´t put as much effort to the Grove store as in the original store in Wynwood or in Purdy in MB, maybe they ran out of money for tables... who knows. read more

I had a very disturbing experience at this place. I was enjoying an afternoon with my daughter sitting outside the store drinking coffee(which is overpriced and bitter). I was discussing allegations against a client of mine(I'm an attorney). A woman sitting at an adjacent establishment did not like what I was discussing(she was eavesdropping). She made a comment to me expressing her opinion. I said thanks have a nice day. She then went into the store and came out with a cup of water. She left. 5 minutes later a representative of the store came out and asked me to leave as "it has been reported that you were having an inappropriate conversation." I was shocked and dismayed as nothing was inappropriate and in addition, she refused to hear what I had to say and expressed her opinion that she was in agreement with what had apparently been told to them(employee and manager). I then went in and asked the manager what was reported by this person. She refused to tell me and wouldn't hear from me. The irony is I was the customer and this person spent nothing at Panther! These people are rude, apparently have no training in customer relations and a total disregard for ones right to speak. Rest assured nothing I said was inappropriate. I suggest you get your coffee elsewhere. There are less expensive and better coffee establishments. read more

Great coffee place with fresh coffee and tea and a variety of brew methods. Quite cool to see some of the machines used. Large open space with plenty of seating and free wifi. Friendly staff that is very helpful. Gave it 4 stars Bc I feel it's a little pricey for it's coffee and teas. read more

Best coffee in Miami! We usually get the double espresso, cortadito (espresso shot with a little milk) or a latte. Our favorite is the East Coast Blend. Their frothed milk is the best in town! And love the coffee art! The music can be a little loud but the atmosphere is great! The staff is excellent! read more

Most awesome coffee. The almond croissant is the best I've ever had. Stop in most any morning and although there are people there, they move the line quickly. The seating is lacking, no cushy coffee shop chairs. Must be part of the business plan. The laptop remote office workers will have to go somewhere else. read more

A visit to Panther Coffee is like a brief jaunt to Portlandia. You'll order something ironic like an iced cappuccino (Frankenstein's coffee - just shouldn't happen), sit at the bar with a friend, and discuss the O Cinema. Maybe you'll forget how many locations there are now, which you shouldn't feel embarrassed about. You're in a safe space. A barista will overhear, and she'll call to another regular: he frequents the O in Wynwood, obviously. This will inspire a lively debate among all the customers, and everyone will arrive at the correct answer (3). There will be a collective "ah!" before all return to their original conversations ... and you can savor the velvet finish of your 6 oz capp. (true story) Panther Coffee is an experience.
