Inconsistent best describes this place. There are days the coffee has a good, bold taste; other days you are drinking black water with no flavor as is the case this morning. Not sure if that is a staff or coffee blend issue. Pastry selection is decent though they tend to run out of many items an hour or two before closing. Had a great experience here! My first time and I ordered the sweet cream cold brew. The cold brew was high quality and the sweet cream on top was the perfect amount of sweetness and really added something extra to the coffee. The line was long on a Saturday afternoon so it took a while to order. But after I did the coffee came out quickly. I enjoyed walking around and shopping with my delicious coffee. Good coffee, nice selection of pastries, and convenient for a quick stop while shopping. I usually order their cold brew but they also have tea based drinks, smoothies, salads, sandwiches and pastries. They have a lot of outdoor seating. It's fairly noisy inside, and the tables are a bit too close together which makes it hard to relax. There are a lot of tables outside which is quieter and very peaceful. It's also a great place to bring your laptop and do work. You can connect to the complementary mall wifi. Sometimes there is a line to order, but the staff are very efficient and get your food/drinks out quickly. read more

Just stopped by for a coffee and bakery item. Asked for the smaller size coffee but was "conveniently" charged for a grande (larger size) by the older gentleman at the cash register. They only put one price on the board (the more expensive price) When I asked the barista he looked it up and gave me a larger cup asi had already paid. It's not a big deal but no one likes being tricked. I stupidly even gave the guy a tip! Not coming back here. Watch out if you don't want to be cheated! read more

This e-bar is pretty solid fuel for a day at merrick park. They've got coffee, snacks, friendly service and most importantly - topo chico. I typically pop in here if I am going to shop for the day, and recently I decided this was a good work spot. They have WiFi and several outlets which makes it a nice place to have as an office for the day. I believe the e bar recently went thru a renovation, and the modern sleek look is most definitely working for this location. If you need a break from all the shopping and can use a little pick me up, pass by EBar. With inside and outside seating, it's the next best thing to a Starbucks and a Dunkin' Donuts. Not pictured, a Mocha Bianco. Yummy but too sweet for my taste unfortunately. Besides that, it's a great spot to come do some work if you're on the road, or need a change of scenery. And they have a decent drink menu and some light bites/snacks so that's a plus. Several outlets to plug into for your laptop. Best thing on the drink menu Lavender Chai Tea with Oat milk! I'm sure other drinks are good! But that's what I always get. As far as food goes they have a wide selection of carbs which are not very appetizing to me. All I saw were bagels, muffins, and other carbs! Coffee shop within walking distance of my home? Yes, please! I have been here many a time for the Mighty Leaf (go local) goodness. Took a leap and tried a salmon platter- hold the bagel because it is 'commercial season'. The salmon smelled bad, tasted fishy and had the consistency of paste wood. My friend ordered a spinach empanada and they wouldn't warm it up for her. Womp times two. ​Finally at the eBar next to the Nordstrom in the Village of Merrick Park in Coral Gables. This cafe is super cute, with inside and outside seating area. I got an extra hot, non-fat, small, Cafe con Leche and they made it, just perfect. They didn't add sugar as I requested and the flavor was just right. I really enjoyed it as I was talking with my friend who had an iced coffee. I can't wait to go back and try their cookies, cakes, and sandwiches. Who doesn't love a basic iced oat milk coffee where the baristas are fun and nice to talk to. Don't get me wrong it's easy to mess up coffee don't get me wrong but The Ebar never gets it wrong for me. And I got to sit outside enjoy what was around me and have a cup of coffee. read more

Here's my fundamental issue with this place-- it'a unreliable. The drinks are good. The food is good. But, some days, they just won't open at their scheduled time. Some days, they won't have a single thing to eat. Some days, they seem to run out of just about every basic necessity to make coffee beverages. It's a solid spot... if you're lucky enough to catch them on a day when they have it together. If you inquire, they will be sure to mention staffing. This is the Nordstrom version of Starbucks coffee..I guess. What I like about this coffee bar are the food selections and service. The staff is very attentive and greets clients by name. The pastries are fresh daily (must try the raspberry cigar or coconut crusted pound cake) and sandwiches are prepped daily, decent in size and filling. I come here almost everyday to get a large iced coffee w/ 2 shots of espresso. Once they see me waiting in line, the barrista already starts making my caffeine fix :) read more

I'm actually quite surprised by this place. I was just looking for Starbucks or some cafe to sit down, have lunch, and do some work. This place came along. Out of curtesy, I always order a drink when I plan to sit down at a place for more than an hour. I went for the standard ice latté. It was pretty good! The coffee was fragrant and the milk to espresso ratio was just right. Get it unsweetened to taste the full flavor. The chicken basil sandwich was quite good for a packaged meal. I just wish they could've heated up for me :( The baristas were friendly and were generous about giving me iced water after I had been there for 2 hours. I am rating 5 stars based on the service, the food I ordered, and the overall experience. I was looking for a quick bite and stopped at the Ebar. I ordered a Ham/Cheese sandwich (requested hot) and a cold iced tea. Both were very good and reasonably priced. It's not a place with lots of options, but good enough to grab a quick bite. read more

I just wanted a coffee and a place to sit with my Computer, but there was only one outlet in the place and it was an awkward position so only one person could use it. This is a very clean and modern cafe', conveniently located in the center of Merrick Park Mall. The staff is beyond friendly and kind. I have studied there a few times, and recall on multiple occasions the barista's asking if me, if I wanted them to turn the music down so I could focus. They also continuously came to to the little table I was settled at, and not only brought me water but kept refilling it. I was shocked by how courteous they were. On a recent evening of shopping with my wife, we decided to visit Merrick Mall in Coral Gables. This outdoor / open-air mall has a wonderful collection of high-end merchants, not to mention some fabulous restaurants. We were shopping in Nordstrom when we came upon Ebar and decided to have dinner right there in the store. Shopping and dining... all in the same place. Love it. Now, when I think of the kind of meal I would expect from a store like Nordstrom I think of high-end and delicious, while at the same time being simple and expensive. That's exactly what I got at Ebar. I think the staff is overly nice, attentive, knowledgeable, courteous, and just overall terrific. You must try the crab bisque... it was delicious! The maple bacon deviled eggs are pretty darned tasty as well. We also shared a small pizza which was great. I got everything I expected... except the price. It was far less expensive than you would think for a nice meal inside a Nordstrom. Definitely worth a visit. read more

Located in the third floor of Nordstrom in Merrick Park it's nice and secluded. You order at the front desk, proceed to pay and sit where you find convenient. I ordered a crab bisque and my wife ordered the angel hair pasta, a sand which and two drinks. We sat down and our server came a little on the dry side. The crab bisque came within 15 minutes along with a focaccia type of bread with cheese. Be sure to ask for extra of those because it only brings two small slices. First taste of the soup was great, very creamy with a strong crab taste and very hot. Secondly....a bite of some sort of plastic object in my mouth with nasty consistency. I'm thinking it's a piece of a crab shell but I was very wrong. Turns out it was a piece of GREEN acrylic nail! Matching the color of our waitress nail polish. Repulsed and disgusted. Our waitress at this point was no where to be found so we asked a different waiter to speak to the manager. The manager said that it was something from the refrigerator. They would refund us the entire meal. Of course we didn't want to eat anything else so we got our refund receipt and walked away. The part we found interesting is that the waitress never passed by our table after giving me the crab bisque.....hmm. Never going back that's for sure! read more

What can I say. These guys are amazing, really AMAZING. So Ebar is to Nordstrom what Starbucks is to the world. However that does no justice to Ebar Merrick Park, because they behave like an independent neighbourhood cafe. First of all, the staff are ALWAYS upbeat and friendly, I don't mean sometimes - I went there at opening time 7 days a week for over six months and was greeted with a smile EVERY SINGLE VISIT. Secondly I'm British and so naturally shy, ebrassed/awkard, and before coffee VERY grumpy!! When I wasn't in the mood to socialise they were efficient. When I was more chatty they were a genuinely friendly bunch. Thirdly and most importantly, something I have never had from a chain cafe owned by a department store before. Within days of my starting to go each day, EVERY team member knew my order and made it before I reached the till, in fact sometimes two team members made it because clearly to every team member cares massively about each and every customer. This cafe should be THE case-study in any hospitality AND in corporate culture class/MBA. They have taken a corporate template outlet and turned it into such a fantastic individual place that I will miss it very very much when I leave town. SO much so that I joined Yelp specifically to write this review. read more

An unsightly employee took my order -white older guy with dreadlocks that hung forward over his head. His hair must have not been washed in a year and his poor customer service skills added to the overall miserable experience we had. As if things couldn't get worse, the drinks were terrible. The ice storm mocha tasted like ice water with no espresso or milk in it. And the underworked cluster of poor staff were standing around joking about customers in front of us. This beautifully renovated ebar location is crying out for a manager. It could be a great place if only someone was at the helm. read more
