The view of Eagle Mountain Lake from the pool is unreal sunsets here are next level. The new Chef is raising the bar with delicious, creative menus, and the waitstaff and bartenders are attentive, friendly, and truly top-notch. One of the highlights is the Summer Sailing Camp, which is open to the public for kids ages 5 to 18. My son learned to sail a boat by himself and came home with so much confidence! They also kayak, tube, fish, and swim in that incredible lakeside pool. The General Manager keeps the club running like clockwork and ensures every guest and member feels right at home. If you're interested in sailing, just ask for the Sailing Director when you call--he'll get you set up quickly and professionally. The FWBC also offers year-round competitive sailing for juniors, led by one of the best sailing coaches in the country--right here in Fort Worth! Adults can enjoy year-round sailing too, whether you're just cruising the lake or itching to race. FWBC truly has something for everyone. This place is more than just a club--it's a vibrant community and an incredible way to enjoy life on the water.

I love to paddleboard and had such a great time doing it! Right now a portion of the river is closed due to construction, so you don't get to explore too much. We also rented a two person kayak for my husband and daughter and it was really fun. This isn't the fault of the company, but the river was so disgusting that I was not comfortable getting off the paddleboard or my daughter playing in the water. Just a lot of trash.

So my wife, daughter and I tried our hand at it. We had the most fun ever. It was special because it was my wife's was birthday. This was something she always wanted to try and I for one was glad that we all did. Ms. Theresa, was the person in charge of the rental place. Mr. Patrick who was a volunteer at the TCPaddlesports was really helpful as well. The only set back for me is that they have no changing rooms the portable potty is dirty and they have to put up the toilet paper so it won't be stolen. Since this is a nonprofit rental place the have no changing rooms. My advice is if you get there before they open and you need to use rest room. Make sure you have personal hand sanitizer and toilet paper. The price for an hour outing was $60.00. Ms. Theresa was truly awesome and very welcoming. Thank you Ms. Theresa, you made it fun.

Captain Doug was great at communicating about this, he understood that my 3 kids (7,6 & 4) were not going to be happy in those calm conditions because it tends to be too hot and a little boring. After a couple of reschedules, we went out on a cloudy day. We were a little concerned about rain but this man knows his weather and assured us it would be fine - maybe a couple of specks of rain, and it was exactly like that. Besides, he told us about his bimini (the big umbrella-like top that covers the whole sitting area) in his beautiful Lady Anne, a 30' Catalina boat, and exactly how to dress for the occasion. My kids were super excited, more about the innards of the boat, which he graciously let them explore, than anything. They went to see the cabins and the head (bathroom), and they were thrilled about the kitchenette. Then he let them grab the wheel, and at the same time he taught my wife and me about pulling the sails up, getting the front sail (Genoa) nice and tight, and a very awesome general 101 about sailing. We had a blast out there, realizing that Lake Lewisville is bigger than we knew. For a few hours, we forgot about everything else, we were the crew of a sailing boat that was able to harness the wind power to move pretty fast. We zig-zagged through the lake, then under a bridge where the Captain commanded the 3 little crew members to yell their lungs out (while taking some energy off, thanks!!), and then back to the marina. The whole afternoon created some memories that will be with us forever.

Thanks to Doug, I now feel a safe and confident sailor. He…read morealso taught me how to maintain and fix a few things on a boat. His skills come with an extreme kindness and patience. I am deeply thankful for what he shared with me.
