One of the coolest things to do in Fort Worth Texas. We planned the Segway tour a couple of weeks in advance. This was my first time trying the segways. It's actually so easy to learn. I spent about 10 mins trying all the different things our tour guide asked me to practice. I pickled it up very easily. Everyone did so as well. Anyone can ride segways. I wish we had more segways all over the country. Tour started off in the downtown Fort Worth area. We stopped at many historic destinations along the way. Tour guide was very funny and very knowledgeable. My favorite part was by the riverside. Absolutely gorgeous weather to ride Segways and made our trip even more memorable with lots of great pics. One of the best Segway tours I've ever had! Tim was an incredible guide--friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely fun to be around. When I showed up and found the place closed, I called to check, and Tim kindly agreed to give me a tour even though I was the only guest. He made sure I felt comfortable throughout and kept the experience engaging with local history and stories. We cruised around the Trinity Garden, which ended up being one of my favorite parts. On top of that, he shared fantastic restaurant recommendations. It felt more like exploring the city with a friend than a formal tour. Huge thanks to Tim for making it such a memorable experience. After some initial trepidation, I joined my wife and friend for my "virgin" ride on a Segway. We arrived at the storefront and Donny was there with plenty of reassuring pleasantries that made the whole group feel welcomed and relaxed. Donny was all about safety first as he gave us some basic instructions and had us all step on a Segway while showing us that we wouldn't tip over and then showing us how to safely step off of the machine. We then were taken around the corner to do some practice laps in the small plaza. Surprisingly, the Segway is easy to maneuver once you relax on it. After this we started on our 8 mile trek through the downtown streets of Fort Worth all the while learning some interesting history. Donny is such a nice and genuine person who is very patient with newbies. He's a really likable guy--someone you'd like to grab a beer with at the local watering hole. Definitely had a 10-star experience with Tim and Cowtown Segway Adventures. I am an avid segway rider. I do a tour in any city I can. I didn't have high expectations for my Fort Worth tour, but I figured any excuse to ride a segway is a good one. I was the only person to sign up for my early Sunday morning tour and Tim came out and gave me a tour anyway. We had an amazing time. He did a special tour based on the things I said I wanted to see. He gave me an amazing history of JFK. I learned a ton of facts about that day that I didn't know. The water gardens are absolutely beautiful. We also went to the trails and rode around the park. Tour guide Donnie was special! Booked the Ft. Worth tour and was excited to go. There were some hiccups parking downtown as their street was closed and had difficulty finding the recommended parking. Metered parking during the week was limited to an hour or two and the garages didn't post prices or were closed to contract only. Call and ask for directions BEFORE you head that way and save yourself time and expense. Donnie was great, informative, knowledgeable and entertaining! We did a Saturday night tour and it was an amazing experience. Neither of us have ever been on a Segway previously but Tim took the time to make sure we were comfortable with controlling it. We had friends visiting from out of state, so we wanted to find an activity for a lovely fall day. A neighbor had recommended this Segway tour, so we booked with Tim. We missed an exit and ended up being late, so we entered kind of flustered and frustrated. Tim started his playful teasing as soon as we walked in. It put us all in a happier frame of mind. Then we had a brief orientation on how to use the Segway. None of us had ever used one, but we picked it up very quickly thanks to his clear instruction. On Good Friday 2018, our family drove from Dallas to take a Cowtown Segway tour. Throughout our planning/scheduling and the tour itself, the owner, Tim Ballard, was responsive, courteous, gregarious, and accommodating. He also made Ft. Worth's history interesting. Moreover, he showed remarkable flexibility by providing a tour combining elements of both his downtown and river walk tour, including being more than generous with his time in order to tailor a hybrid tour to meet the divergent tastes of his nine guests. Visitors from Dallas might appreciate Cowtown Segway's downtown location is within walking distance of Ft. Worth's train station. The cost of tours is comparable to horseback riding for an equal length of time, but without the days of soreness afterwards. Furthermore, greenhorns need not fear the Segway. Cowtown Segway provides ample safety equipment, training, and water for any rookie before your tour's departure. Our guide even photographed the group throughout the tour, and then shared those photos with each party within our group via AirDrop. NOTE TO FAMILIES: Riders must be 8 years old and over 60lbs (Our son was 58.8 lbs in stocking feet. With shoes and a water bottle in his pocket, he was just over 60lbs, though the tour company did not weigh him.). I will say our guide was very conscientious about looking out for both or our kids (ages 10 & 8). Both were allowed to drive themselves, including down the middle of busy streets between Sundance Square and the Court House. However, the guide did keep a hand on my son's handle bars when crossing busy intersections. read more

If you have a choice during the hot summer months take the evening tour! The buildings block the cooking sun almost entirely during the tour. And a bonus is getting to watch the sunset during the last half of the tour. A little learning curve for those who've never ridden a Segway. But very easy working a few minutes.
