I'm a skincare snob, the kind of person who has her favorite brands and is picky about ingredients. Therefore, I'm disappointed in myself that I didn't discover the Pantry a lot earlier. The only way I knew about it was through a friend asking me to pick up moisturizer for her while she was down. I've thanked my friend, of course, because even upon walking into the shop, the smell tells you you're in a place that values quality ingredients. I wish the owner would make a Pantry Products candle that smells just like the shop. I'd buy it in bulk. Because I have dry skin, I'm careful about products with oil because they tend to sit on my skin instead of moisturizing it. Therefore, I've hesitatingly used products with oils, but the Pantry has changed my mind. The serum is my favorite product, hands down--not only does it smell wonderful (to the point where I've had people ask me what I'm wearing) but it also moisturizes my skin beautifully, and I can't stop touching my face because it feels so soft. It's a relief, too, to know that these products aren't harmful to my body or the environment, something that's become even more important to me since reading an article about the cancer-causing chemicals in talc. I also use the face cleanser, with jojoba oil, and it's moved to the top of my cleansers, since my skin feels a lot less dry when using it. I also like the customer service, which is informative and friendly without being pushy. The people working at the store know their stuff and have effectively steered me toward the right products. Finally, check out the Instagram feed if you haven't already: the owner is highly engaging without being overly performative, and her aesthetic reflects the shop and the products. My only quibble--and I feel terrible writing this because I love this shop and love to support small businesses, having worked for one myself--is that a batch of my moisturizer never seemed to work for me, as it was broken no matter how many times I tried to stir it. When I went in to get more serum, I mentioned that the moisturizer hadn't worked well for me/was way too oily. The person behind the counter said she wished I'd brought it in to replace it as long as I hadn't used it all and that they'd had a problem with a certain batch number. She mentioned, too, that another person brought her empty tin in after trying to use this faulty moisturizer, but it couldn't be replaced because she'd used it all. This seemed kind of curious to me: why not just replace it then? I mean, I understand people can be sketchy at times, but it was obvious I and the other customer weren't being that way. In a previous business I'd worked for, we would have replaced that, no questions asked. This also would have encouraged me to try the moisturizer again. I'd encourage the company to replace known faulty products, even if the user had mistakenly used all of it up. Overall, though? If you love skincare products like I do, you *must* try this place. Don't wait for a friend to tell you about it. Don't think that, Oh, maybe some day I'll go there. No. Go. Small businesses are an important pillar of our community, but even more, your skin will look, feel, and smell wonderful, and you won't be putting a bunch of nasty chemicals in your skin and body. As soon as you walk into the store you notice how great it smells. This is truly one of my favorites, they have everything you can think for. They also have a selection for men and your doggies. My usual items are the yoga room and mat spray and any of their chapsticks. I just recently purchased some new to me products, their bath salts, clay mask, mixing rose water..... bonus I got a gift since they're also on Small Business Bingo this month. I like the simplicity of the shop and the easy to find ingredient list on the labels. The staff were cheerful and available but not pushy. Two things I wish were available: more info about how to use some of the products, like the room sprays, and a way to test them. There's no testers so you have to go by faith and the label that the smell and texture of the product will work for you. read more

Great store!!! This is my first visit since they moved to this location mainly because I can never make it on time before they close. But today is Small Business Saturday and they are open until 7PM :) I restocked my fave deodorant! Store is clean and organize. Staff on register was nice but she was so soft-spoken I can barely hear what she said. Come to think of it, she probably greeted me and I didn't hear it LOL! I had a couple of questions and a lady from the back came out and helped me. I wish to try their lip balms sometime as soon as I'm done with a batch I purchased from another homemade/natural retailer in town. Will definitely return! read more

I am so OBSESSED with everything that Pantry Products makes. Their products are all so amazing. They smell great, feel great, and work GREAT! The packaging is very simple and eco friendly, just like all their products and all of the ingredients they use. The arnica muscle salve and the blemish balm are absolute life savers. They do their intended purpose without making me feel greasy and they naturally absorb into the skin so I'm not feeling weighed down by them. The staff and owner are always so amazing and knowledgeable and if they don't sell something specific, they can probably make it for you as a special request. This particular location seems better stocked than The Basement location, but both have a ton of products to choose from. Also their online ordering system is so easy and I picked up my order the next day. read more

Pantry Products has something essential for everyone in the family. All products use natural ingredients and are created here in Reno, NV. I enjoy supporting local businesses and I appreciate the care they put into producing quality products at a reasonable price. I love their dog deodorant for my pup. I also like their paw protectant. I've been trying their dry shampoo which works pretty well but may not be quite strong enough for my hair. I also use one of their linen sprays to keep the sheets fresh between washes. I enjoy the Pantry Products location in the Basement but this is their main storefront so there are more products to try at this location. read more

I love the concept of this place; natural, wholesome self-care products. I've been buying products here for myself (and as gifts for friends!) for a couple years now. The shop itself is wonderful, it's clean, vibrant and a joy to be in. The new location on Wells is definitely a step up from The Basement in which it used to be located. The products themselves are lovely as well especially because they are hand-crafted and made in-house. However, my main issues are thus: most products do not have a price clearly displayed and there are not any tester products available. To be fair, there are little chalk boards that list a handful of products with their prices, but many items are missing from these chalk boards which results in having to ask the store attendant the price of each item. If you're made of money, I understand that this is not a problem (lucky you!), but if your financial situation is humble and you must be intentional about your purchases (like myself)...it's irksome when shops consciously choose to make it difficult to understand their pricing. Even though they have the chalkboards, it's a pain to have to run over to the board and scan the list each time you find an item you like (and remember not all items are even on the list to begin with!). Having once owned a boutique myself and after working in retail for many years, I always find it to be a tad off-putting when shops don't purposely and easily display their prices. A tiny dot sticker or a simple folded card in front of each type of product does wonders for the average shopper. Secondly, there are not any tester products available. In fact, there's little signs specifically saying do not open or test the products in any way. Now, I fully understand Covid means testers have changed a bit, believe me, I don't want to stick my fingers in a tin of salve that everyone and their mom has also stuck their grubby little hands in with the current state of affairs :P BUT many other places currently have testers available, albeit somewhat modified. Seeing as this is a shop based on embodying the sensory experience (namely smell and touch/texture), I think it is important to find alternative methods for testing products. Scent testing should be available at the very least. I've visited other places that require guests to hand sanitize upon entry. Lotions that come in jars can be offered as a tester in a pump bottle. Most anything else can be capped with a grate (think the plastic thing that comes on spice jars) so people can at least get a feel for the smell. Or...the employees could also have the testers behind the counter and provide a little wooden spoonful of whatever it is one would like to try upon request (which one would be aware of because little signs could be posted in the shop). Just a few ideas...because it's always nice to let the guests be able to try out the product before spending $15 on a bottle of lotion only to find the scent doesn't resonate. Lastly, the service from the staff has been lacking . The quality of care for guests and their shopping experience has gone down hill since leaving The Basement. For all the warmth the space and products have to offer, the current employees lack the warmth that used to be felt immediately upon entering. They just don't seem to care if you're in the shop or not. Customer service is a tough gig, I get it, but when one experiences genuine care or interest regarding their shopping experience in a friendly manner (I.e. greeting, asking questions, answering questions, etc.) it makes the whole outing that much more enjoyable. All in all, the concept is great, there are just a couple key components that I feel are missing for me to be able to highly recommend Pantry Products. read more

Great staff and products! A few months back, I went in and bought a ginger saffron scented candle and it lasted for about two months or so. I used it constantly, I loved it. I went back in and bought a lemongrass scented deodorant and lip balm, that I now love! In addition, they have a refill system, where you get a discount on your next candle if you bring your candle jar from your previous purchase. I did that, when I got my refill home, after a few hours of lighting I was worried about the scent not being strong enough for my liking, I felt terrible but I wasn't sure what to do, I gave them a call. The staff member was very accommodating and said to bring it in and they would take care of it. When I get there, they took care of everything and made it so easy in an uncomfortable situation. I absolutely love this place! I am such a fan!! I would not be able to live without their deodorant. It is truly the only one that does not get me to break out in hives. I appreciate their curbside pick up during Covid at the Wells Avenue location. Everything I bought in here is handmade in Reno and absolutely one of my favorites. Everything is always so organized and all the bottles are just calling for you to come over and look at them as soon as you walk into the shop. It can be difficult to decide on what you want since it all sounds amazing. The products I have tried from Pantry Products have always blown my mind. I would definitely recommend their Aloe+Chamomile Hydrating Cream. It saved my skin this winter when I couldn't find any natural products that would keep me moisturized. read more

I absolutely love this pantry products! I wanted to try more natural products and this is definitely the place. My first visit, I got the face wash and a candle. The face wash is a true miracle. My face is combo of dry/oily and after washing with pantry products face wash, my skin is soft and happy. The candle I have smells amazing and lasts forever! My favorite scent is Sierra Pine. The ONLY downside is the prices, which are on the steeper side; but it evens out once you bring back the original bottles. Honestly, it's very worth it supporting a local business that is low-waste and has all-natural products. read more
