They have moved! I have been in Reno for five years now. I always wear my hair in some type of braiding style. I came across another Reno gem, that offers braiding products and everything you need for curly hair folks. This place use to be next to the laundromat called Duds N Suds in sparks. Now it has moved to Reno off of Moana. The prices hear are very reasonable. They have helpful staff. I enjoy that they allow local braiders and stylists to place their cards and advertise their business in the store. Great job bringing a sense that of community back into Reno with hair care. They have products for women and men. From beards to braids to waves. I bought my first wig here too. Keep doing what your doing. Stopped in to get some fun colors for my burning man braids and Rose, the owner, was helpful in directing me through my first experience. She was patient with me, answered all my questions, and even let me know of additional shipments coming in over the next few weeks for colors I'm looking for. I'll be back in a few weeks for some more colors and then again for any other fun hair extension supplies as needed. The shop name is also just the cutest and makes me smile. read more

So this is the only beauty supply I go to and today I felt super uncomfortable. So i'm looking at a silk scarf then I start looking at the incense which happen to be by the door and lower on the little rack. I did squat down to look at the incense and idk if someone told the employee to go to the front to watch or what, now I didn't too much care until top flight security decided to lean over the counter to look at me. I've always had my hair braided since I was a child. Growing up in CO there were a ton of options on where to shop. I decided to get my hair done here in Reno and was very concerned on where to go to purchase what I need. Then in the Black student handbook I found Unbeweavable. First of all: Great name! From the first step in I was greeted and the staff was very kind. They had everything I wanted, except the color 2b which I have had in Colorado. They were so kind there I was very happy with my experience. If you are getting your hair done, or doing your own hair. I Would highly recommend coming here for your needs. I come to Unbeweavable once a year to get braiding hair for my Burning Man braids. Within the last year, they have moved a couple store fronts down to a MUCH larger facility. The store is now HUGE, with so many options to choose from for braiding hair, accessories, and wigs. I could easily get lost in this store for hours just looking at everything, but luckily there is always at least one helpful lady there to answer any questions or get something for you off a higher shelf. The ladies here and very knowledgeable, but they won't lie to you if they don't have the answer to something, which I really appreciate. They're not interested in just getting a sale, they want you to leave with what you really need and what's going to work for you. After searching Carson and nearly all of Reno for shops offering good quality hair falls and wigs that did not look like cookie cutter items, my husband finally drove me to UnbeWeavable Beauty Supply in NW Reno. At first there were only men to assist, but the sports on TV were far more interesting. I was about to leave when a very lovely lady from the back room appeared and offered to assist me, and my problem was resolved immediately! She and her daughter not only found a quality fall that matched my natural hair color, but they put it on and styled my hair as well, taking plenty of time to make sure it met with my approval. This store only got 1 star because you have to give it something. I have never purchased hair before for a sew in weave. I went off of what was being told to me and that was that the hair I was sold was "the best". After just a short time later, I am sitting here having this crap cut out of my head because I washed it and it knotted up so bad I can't get a comb, brush, or my fingers through it. If this is the best human hair available, then I'm not sure how anyone has any hair left. Thanks to this store, I will never try another weave. If you're looking for a straight weave that will end in dreads, unbeweavable is the place to go! read more

If they started carrying makeup and jewelry, it would be 5 stars! I've got 2 wigs from here but their selection of lashes is what brings me back most often. I sometimes shop online for wigs but what I love about here past the excellent customer service and selection, is the price! Their prices are in line with that online but you don't have to wait for shipping and you're buying local. They have great staff here. They're knowledgeable and kind. I went in for crochet hair and they have a decent selection. I typically use freetress, so I'd love to see them stock the store with gogo curl and deep twist. This is the only reason for the four stars. They don't have anyone in there that's knows about hair products the items they have you can get from Wal-Mart and that's far as edge control items etc..... They are way over priced just knowing they are the only African American beauty supply available in Reno I'll rather travel to Sacramento. The cashier ripped me off. I purchased a box of beads for $3.99, and she rang it up as $11.99. It clearly said $3.99, she just wants to steal from her customers!! DO NOT SHOP AT THIS PLACE. They were not helpful, and then she overcharged me. Pretty shameful, not customer friendly. read more

While in the Reno area for a Detox/Recharge/GetAway Week from my little world, I found myself needing to do laundry (aggghhhh). So I get on the icy roads in search of a laundromat (casino didnt have self laundry) and after driving in circles in a town unfamiliar to me, I found I was not far from Duds'n Suds and decided to stop there. To my surprise upon pulling into the driveway, I spot this gem of a store. My Interest is immediately sparked as to what what inside. After loading laundry I went to check it out. The ladies (two) greeted me in unison and offered help if I needed. The lady with the straight hair ended up helping me and going over and beyond my expectations. She recommended products I can use for my colored and natural tresses to retain the moisture (cause that's a task in and of itself in freezing weather) and she even slipped in a lollipop that read "LOVE" into my cute little paper craft bag. This place has most things a natural, coily headed lady such as myself need. In addition to the needs, they carry the wants. The colored hair, dyes, accessories and various lengths and textures of human and synthetic hair can be found here. Don't delay or get your curly hair products from anywhere else. First visit and it lasted 2 seconds. Very very small store with minimum products. I was really upset I traveled for this. Never been to a "beauty supply" of this standard before. Wouldn't recommend, not even for basic items. read more
